Dany was laying on her bed upside down, her lengthy blonde hair sweeping the floor only slightly. She was bored and didn't have many friends to hang out with on the Islands, so she was usually alone.

Alone. Siiiiiiiiiiigh.

Dany hated being alone, and she hated being bored, so this was the ultimate hell for her. She'd heard she might be getting a new roommate today though so there was that, at least.

There were the dorms right? At least the map said they were here. Her eyes cast along the corridors with various doors with numbers on them. It had to be the right place! She had been told about moving in with another girl to share a room with. It'll be the first female she'll meet at the academy!

Savannah stopped in front of a door that the sheet of paper directed her to. The next step is to knock. Her small handed curled into a ball as she tapped the door before opening it. "Hello? She called out as she entered the room.

Immediately she spotted a person laying on a bed. This must be the room mate!

"Ah, did I interrupt your slumber? Should I come back later?" She said abruptly. Unsure of what do to do. Last thing she wanted was her first room mate to get a bad impression.

As soon as her new roommate entered the room, Dany immediately rolled over, an excited expression spreading over her face. "Oh no no no, don't mind me, I was just laying here and uh..." She thought about it. "Well, being bored."

She waved at the other girl, smiling at her eagerly. "My name is Dany! And you are?" Oh she was so excited to finally have a roommate! She'd been waiting for so long, and the school seemed to have new students every day, so it didn't seem fair that she hadn't gotten a new roommate yet.

Just as she began to crept out there was a sudden rustle. The girl that was laying on the bed had moved. Savannah was a little startled by the atmosphere. It wasn't threatening or scary, just caught her off-guard. That's all. Was this girl just sitting here all this time? How long was that for? Was she waiting for her room mate?

Savannah nervously waved back and force out a smile. "Nice to meet you, I am Savannah Achard. I believe I'm your room mate." She introduced.

Figuring it'd be strange to stand by the door she closed it behind her and stepped further into the room. It was fairly spacious, plenty of room to move around. Obviously designed to hold just more than the two of them, but only had two beds.

"If I appear to be lost it's because I've only just arrived at the academy. Not even a day passed and I end up getting in the way of others. Least they treat me like everyone though." She spoke out loud as she let down her rucksack with a thud. A small sigh escape as she stretched her back. Her nine tails also stuck out and stretched themselves. "I was worried I'd be given all sorts of funny looks for what am I, but I guess it's just, normal here?" Savannah guessed glancing towards Dany.

Dany smiled at the other girl, so giddy she could start bouncing up and down. "It's okay, they practically ship a new student here every day!" She said, now starting to get off the bed. "Do you need any help?" she offered, pointing to the new girls bags.

Then she noticed the ears and tails. "Oh those are way cool! I didn't even notice them until you said something to be honest. Guess I'm kinda used to all the weird people at this school? I think they're really cool though. Pretty, in a way."

Dany's reassurance was of to some effect, it's nice to know you're not the only one without a clue. Last thing Savannah wanted was to be the village idiot of the academy. Dany's enthusiastic behaviour startled the fox girl ever slightly, she didn't expect it at all. "Ah, I'll be okay with my things." she assured Dany.

Savannah moved her bag over to the spare bed but stopped when Dany called out her out. The kitsune stood up straight, facing her room mate and rolled her eyes up. "Oh these, I don't know whether I'd call them pretty. They made things difficult for me before I came here." She half heartily replied. Savannah felt in her gut Dany was being honest in her words, but she couldn't come to accept them fully because of her inflictions with her new fox like appearance.

"If we are all weird, wouldn't that make us normal?" Savannah suggested as a means to move off the last topic. She liked compliments all well and true, but the ears and tails were still a deciding factor.

Dany thought about the girls question for a moment. "Yeah, I guess you're right," she said softly. Then she smiled at her. "So you're new, then. It's nice to meet you, Savannah."

Dany sat back down on her bed, crossing her legs. "So what's your power? Unless it's just those. I've met a few people like that."

Dany agreed through her words. Was it right to give off such an impression? There wasn't really any chance to go back on what she said right now, least there will be time between now and then to sort things out. "Yes, I am new. And like wise Dany." She replied with smile.

Savannah went to organise items and the liking out her bag, most of them were just books, diaries and some pictures. She looked behind her when Dany asked another question. Savannah was about to ask why she's asking so much, but what did she mean met 'a few people like that'.

She laid down her belongings on her own bed and turned to face Dany. "My power, so to speak is that I am a fox spirit, or known as a Kitsune." She began, taking a few steps to the middle of the room. "My power grows through age and wisdom. I have reached the end of my growth as a fox with the nine tails. Though I have not met a kinsman for close to over a dozen of human generations." She told her. With that thought she crossed her arms and looked at the ceiling.

"You said you saw others with features like my own? Are they of my kind or simply another race?" She asked, intrigued in what Dany might have to say.

The girl said a lot of things that didn't really make a bunch of sense, but Dany smiled at her anyways. It was nice for people to share about themselves, and her honesty was refreshing.

"I'm a shapeshifter. Though I can only shapeshift into animals I've touched... So I shift mostly into house pets." She hit herself on the head playfully, as if to gesture she was nothing special. Which she wasn't, really. "Shapeshifters are pretty common though around here, apparently. Not many can turn into a tiger though!"

When the fox girl asked about similar features, Dany shook her head. "I just meant animal appendages, sorry. I can't say I've ever met another um... Kitsune, you called it? Yeah, I can't say I have."

The way the girl was talking was strange though. As if she was somehow older? Dany gave her a suspicious look. "How old are you, exactly?"

A shapeshifter? Savannah nodded her head. She found it the interest how one is able take form of the animals of the world. Though they aren't animals themselves. So how would one be able to function the different motors of animals? It must be quite a challenge she thought. "Ah, a tiger? I think I met one once, he was quite the lonesome type. I didn't hang around long." She commented.

Savannah found slight disappointment in her answer, that small glimmer of hope vanished. She traced her foot on the floor, almost wanting to pout. "A shame, none the less." Savannah forced a smile.

Suddenly a question that perked her ears. Her age, oh that was quite an inquiry! She dismissed her earlier mood and switch to something more joyful. She skipped towards Dany and leant down a bit. "I am too old to be your mother, that's for sure." She laughed.

"Think of a time when the humans rode the land by horse, the oceans by wooden vessels, wars by ranks and numbers and leadership by a monarchy." Savannah added. The grin one her face was from ear to ear.
