"Ah! No no, please go out!" Topaz yelled as she stood frantically stomping out the flames she actually started on a small patch of grass near her. She was lucky that her own flames didn't hurt her, but it wasn't the same for everyone else. Fire spreads, and it spreads pretty quickly. She did not want to be the cause of the entire school becoming a pile of scorched rubble.

Smoke and sparks shot out from the soles of her shoes as she kept attempting to stomp out the periwinkle fire, grunts and groans coming from her with each strong stomp. How she wished as she stared at it while adjusting and preventing her glasses from falling off her face that she could at least control when she sets things on fire. They always seem to start when she's in a state of extreme emotion which her grandmother had told her would happen first a first time witch but it would soon becoming more in-control as time passes. She just wished that time could go faster.

After a moment, she had finally put out the fire, but it left a small scorch mark on the once beautiful, lush green grass. She knew it would be an eye sore for whoever walked by, and the headmistress may not like that her flames are burning the beautiful flora around the courtyard. Maybe she can do something to help make up for her mistakes. She just needed a little bit more training.

"You'll get there eventually." A male voice called out from the tree. Topaz looked up and smiled at her feline companion as he sat there on a branch. Unlike most cats he could actually climb up and jump down when he pleased which saved Topaz the trouble of helping. "You just need more practice."

"I've been practicing the last few days and yet... nothing." She said, sighing in defeat. Then again, Rome wasn't built in a day. Her grandmother had to go through years of practice to perfect her own powers. Now it was Topaz's turn.

notes: topi is having a hard time XD someone help her or else she'll burn down everything

With a sigh of disappointment at her small damage, she sat down and sat against the tree while looking at the scorched grass patch. She always wondered why she had such a destructive element instead of something calm like wind or water, maybe even earth, but instead she got the most hurtful of them all, fire. Sure each element had it's own fair bit of destructive properties but they had some good underneath them. Water nourished people, air gives people something to breathe, and earth gave creatures their home. What did fire do? Nothing but burn, scorch, destroy.

"Hey there,"

The young witch looked up in surprise to see that someone was there. A dark-haired boy that was waving at her. Shyness immediately took her over as she immediately looked away with a blush and the glare of the light covering her lenses, making her eyes hidden.

"Not anymore... I-i just... put out a mistake.." She said vaguely, assuming that he didn't see anything from before. With the amount of panic she went through it would've been a surprise if he really didn't notice her troubles. Though the scorch mark sitting next to her would give the whoel story, or maybe just half.

notes: to her fire is a mistake XD

Confusion was the first thing that ran though Topaz's mind. She didn't quite understand at first what he meant by doing worse, but after a short second she realized that perhaps he had shared her powers, though by the sound of it, having them didn't bother him as much as it did for her. Though looks can be deceiving. Pip, who was watching him with interest (though it didn't show in his cat face) whispered to himself, "Well well well, what convenient coincidence we have here.." knowing exactly what was going on from the start.

Her glanced returned to him for a moment as he started to make inferences, though they spot on. She was very much new at it, only having been a witch for 2 years. It was kind of embarrassing to have someone notice her novice skills from the start. It proved that she really needed to practice much more often lest she be a novice for possibly the rest of her life.

Her assumptions became correct with his next statement, he could control fire like herself, even going so far as to show her. Her eyes landed on his hand as a flame appeared in it, and began to juggle it as more flames appeared. The look of awe on her face was apparent, even behind the glare of the glasses created by the sunlight. He definitely had more skill than she did, making her wonder just how long he had this ability for. She was also a bit jealous that he had more control.

With a smile on her face, she clapped her hands together, not making much of a clapping sound. "That was.. i-impressive." She complimented, her shyness getting the best of her again and as a result she looked down. "A-are you a witch too?... oh, I mean w-warlock." She corrected herself.
