"Reborn?! Bro, that sounds like some wild shit..."
Diego commented with a mix of shock and awe, he didn't really know what else to say. I mean, rebirth was soooo much out of his area of any kind of expertise or knowledge. Hell, Diego didn't even know close to half of all the species that lived on the island.

"Like, I'm more or less used to all the craziness now, but still I see something every week that just tops my expectations. Way to keep a guy on his toes, amirite?"
Diego laughed and crunched on a new carrot stick, holding it between his teeth like a cigarette for a bit.

"Dude, I was gonna say, I think that getting reborn or resurrected or whatever is, like, just another Sunday for some people here. You know they have fights to the death in the arena here?"
Diego still found it hard to believe that some people seriously were so into fights that they'd fight to the death, even if that death was only temporary.
"I've never actually seen a fight there tho, I'm really not into violence as, like, sport or a show or whatever. Like, wrestling is okay, I watch few lucha libre fights from Youtube sometimes, but the fights at the arena can be kinda intense. Or I dunno, that's what I've heard."
Diego chatted on, he lowkey felt bad for just blabbering on but Aj seemed like the type that wouldn't mind.

Diego only had one quesadilla left and he washed the first bite of it down with a healthy sip of coke.
"But you don't gotta go too deep into the rebirth thing, bro. Since it probably ain't that nice the first time around. But you kinda got me curious about, like, what you are. I'll go first since it's just fair. Though I'm just a metahuman. Ya know, human with some plus features. In my case those plus features are flying and controlling wind, plus I've got bird bones. Literally."
Diego cackled a bit and put the last carrot stick in his mouth. Now he only had the sweet quesadilla goodness left.

Aj got so excited about Diego possibly being part bird that Diego almost felt bad answering the guy.
"Sorry bro, but nah. I think the bones are hollow just to make flying easier, since it makes me super light. Gravity's got nothing on me."
Diego joked and laughed, flexing his surprisingly muscular arm (though the muscles were sadly concealed under his jersey).
"But you're a kinda-Phoenix? That sounds dope, honestly. Have never met a Phoenix. That explains the rebirth then."

"Don't worry, bro, it wasn't a far-fetched assumption since I literally said bird bones."
Diego assured with a laugh, clearly not offended at all.
"Rather it might be even cooler if I was part bird. If I had legit wings or something."
Diego said excitedly and spread his arms, they were long but featherless, sadly. Though when Diego spread his arms he almost hit a guy that was passing by and Diego quickly apologized a few times as the guy glared at him and then walked off with a huff.
"Damn, someone's been eating too much of that sad excuse for meatballs..."

Aj explained some more about his situation and mentioned the reason why he was wearing a nullification bracelet.
"That makes sense. When I'd only gotten my powers I'd randomly just float off the ground or let out a burst of wind, those led some pretty awkward incidents."
Diego snickered, as he remembered said incidents.
"Some slips are a part of learning the power but better not risk it. And better you avoid doing the rebirth thing again for a while."

"Feel like many folks 'round here are on the same boat, bro. With having dangerous powers."
Diego said with half a shrug, and ate a mozzarella stick in one bite.
"How'd that quote go? With great power comes great responsibility? 'S good ya keep aware of your powers and stuff, it's responsible."
Diego praised with a grin and took a swig out of his coke. Aj seemed like a good kid, a lot less timid now too. Diego internally patted himself om the back, it must've been his influence that Aj was talking and smiling more now. Good for him!

Diego saw the sad look Aj gave his coke and tilted his head curiously, munching on another moz stick.
"What's up with your coke? Did it wrong you somehow? 'Cos I can totally take revenge and drink it for you, I frickin' love coke."
Diego joked with a snicker and lifted his own cool coke.
