Hikaru frowned at that. "So I was too scary..." He took a moment to think about it, and he didn't like thinking about things too hard. It made his head hurt. Well, he guessed it hadn't been a complete failure. She seemed okay...even if it had taken a lot of convincing. He cast a glance in Sushi's direction, not really sure of what to say. How could they make it less scary? It felt good that it had worked, but it didn't feel good to have her still nervous. Well, nervous enough. Was she okay?

"I'm Hikaru," he pointed at himself, then moved his hand from Sushi's head to put it around his shoulders. "And this is my friend Sushi. We're trying to help people have fun on this island. Because otherwise it gets boring." He smiled. "Maybe you could help us figure out how to make the prank not too scary? So we can help people to not be too scared."

Katie

Katie just blinked as Hikaru asked her how Sushi and him could change the prank so that it was less scary. They didn't really need to change the prank, and Katie felt a little bad for them. They shouldn't have to change their prank just because she was a scaredy cat.

"You.. you really, really, really don't have to change it..." Katie said. "But umm, maybe don't do the 'boo' thing at the end?" Katie offered. It was really the only thing she could think to change that wouldn't be a major adjustment.

Hikaru nodded. It was weird, but maybe it was some kind of island superstition? Like Boo was some evil ghost thing? Maybe it was some super powerful deity or curse word.

"Okay..." He crossed his arms, looking upwards as he made a mental note of this and tried to plan out how to do the trick without saying boo. Maybe "gotcha!" or something similar? They could make it work. Clearly they had to get back to the drawing board on this one. "Thank you for your feedback!" He smiled cheerfully. "I'd like to be friends. Again, I'm sorry for scaring you." He took Sushi's hand and gave Katie a wave. "We will go and think about how to prank people without them being too scared!"

After all, if the pranked person didn't have fun, then it was kind of a failure. He'd have to figure out how to make it more fun. Maybe silly words instead of scary ones? He'd think about it for next time.

Sushi watched. He didn't completely get everything that was going on, but he got the just of it. In the future, they would say gotcha instead of boo and that would somehow make people happier. It didn't really matter that it didn't make sense, Sushi openly accepted a lot of stuff that didn't make sense and it usually ended up making more sense later on.

He added on a simple "Yeah!" to Hikaru talking about becoming friends, then allowed Hikaru to take his hand and followed him.

Katie

Katie smiled at Hikaru and Sushi. "Then let's be friends!" she said, as she slowly got back up to her feet. "It was nice meeting you!" Katie said as she gave the pair a small wave as they wondered off, and she continued on the hunt for her own dorm, which she eventually found.

It had definitely been a scary experience, but at the end of the day, she'd made two new friends! Which made it all worth it in her book. And maybe deep down she'd found it a little fun once all was said and done, but at the moment she was just happy to be back in her dorm. And hopefully whoever they sacred next was a little bit braver then she was.
