Appearance Description:
Art by Clover
Being a naga, Gernet is quite large, about 50 feet from head to tail, and somewhere around 2500 lbs. This is slightly above average for his species, but not unusually so. His upper half is that of a slender and athletic human male, while his lower half is that of a large snake with emerald green scales. Like a snake, he has retractable fangs, a forked tongue, and bright green eyes with a vertical pupil. Gernet has short blond hair and an impish grin. If it weren't for the scars covering his body, both self-inflicted runes to Morgul and battle scars, he might pass for cute to anyone who doesn't know him.

Gernet usually doesn't wear clothes, unless he's wearing skimpy tops to add to the effect of his female glamour. He has a rich, masculine, moderately-pitched voice, but can pitch higher when pretending to be female. Even though he has had a lot of practice, he still tends to be quieter when acting.
When using his human form sigil, Gernet's general build remains the same, but his lower half becomes fully human, and he stands just under 6' tall.
Personality Description:
Gernet is violent, bloodthirsty, and viciously cruel. Both sadistic and slightly masochistic in a physical sense, torturing people just for fun. He gets a thrill out of pain and blood, even more than sex. His curiosity towards what makes people tick biologically is almost childlike, and he particularly enjoys vivisection as a method of torture because he can educate himself while he hurts people. He is also artistic, performing ritual scarification on himself and others both as a show of devotion and because it is aesthetically pleasing, and creative in his methods, using all sorts of implements in a variety of ways.
A devout follower of Morgul and proud of it, his god is the only one with any claim to his loyalty. Otherwise, Gernet is a treacherous snake, ambitious, always working against those he perceives as stronger or higher up than him, though he is quite capable of pretending to respect authority when it suits him. The naga's hatred of anyone or anything is generally an extension of his envy. He is extremely envious of the magical powers of the Arores, fascinated by magic in general, and has a special hatred of them above his ingrained hatred of all lamia.
Sneaky, devious, subtle, and cunning. A very patient man, Gernet plays a long game and is not above any sort of subterfuge, trickery, false humility, or deception to get what he wants. He likes to turn the table on people. He's even willing to put up with some harm to himself to catch his prey.
Active Abilities:
Weak Glamour - Used to be slightly stronger, but has been drained by portal travel. Allows Gernet to appear female. Only affects sight, and touch would reveal it to be false. Gives a feminine cast to face and body, though a small-breasted female. Doesn't change his size, coloring, scars, or hair length. Still works when using human form, but only on top half.
Chaos Magic Sigils - Must be in a state of high excitement (either aroused or intensely angry or religious frenzy) when carving sigil. Cuts the sigil into himself. Can't use both sigils at once.
Heat Charm Sigil -
Keeps his internal body temperature warm even when in cold weather, but still a danger of frostbite in below freezing temps. Leaves his thoughts slightly feverish and disorganized for the whole period including the recovery. Lasts about an hour. Will be twice as affected by cold for about 30 minutes after. Must wait at least two hours between uses, starting after recovery time.
Human Charm Sigil -
Carving the sigil forces him to shift into human form for an hour, including the 20 minutes of complete vulnerability it takes to shift there and back. While in human form he's unbalanced and unused to walking. Shuts off his tail strength, healing/durability, and tail movement, but remains cold-blooded. Mentally easily excited and moody in this form. Will be exhausted and at half strength for 30 minutes after. Must wait at least two hours between uses, starting after recovery time.
Passive Abilities:
Good night vision - Dwelling on the dark side of the planet, the naga have adapted a superior night vision, they can see best in low levels of light and are more sensitive to bright light. Even a sunny day would make him squint a lot.
Strength - As a naga, Gernet is in possession of a great deal of strength. It's not the kind that he would have in his arms, but rather the kind he would have in his core and tail. With his tail, he is not just able to crush wood, and bend metals, he is able to force critical structural failures in them. Metal doesn't just bend it is crushed, wood splinters and explodes. Naga, by virtue of their size, are generally stronger than their lamia counterparts, and he is no exception.
Healing, Durability, Increased Life Span - 80% reptile gives an increased healing rate. Can recover from injuries at twice the rate of a normal human. Broken bones can mend in half the time, lacerations can close up within a few short days, and even limbs can be regrown over time, though that in itself is a lengthy process on its own. This Durability and Healing has led to Naga developing a very strong immune system, rendering them immune to almost all forms of disease and toxins. The average lifespan of a Naga is around five hundred years.
Movement - He is an exceptional swimmer, using his powerful tail in much the same way a snake would, to propel himself quickly and easily through the water. He is also a skilled climber, once again taking advantage of his strong tail to act as a grip for vertically ascending trees and other surfaces.
Weaknesses:
Cold-blooded - Heavily dependent on environment to maintain his levels of activity and health. Like many reptiles in the early or cooler hours of the morning, he can be sluggish and unresponsive. On colder days, in general, he will rarely venture outdoors. If he tries to swim in a body of water that is too cold he can run the risk of becoming too slow to stay afloat and drown.
Size - One of his biggest drawbacks is his incredible size. Many things meant for normal people are incapable of supporting his weight. And his great length makes it difficult to move around without injury to himself or others.
Full Moon Madness - Like their Lamia counterparts, Naga are filled with lust on the full moons, both sexual and bloodlust. They don't quite lose their ability to think, but there is a fire in them that demands satisfaction.
Biography:
Like most naga born on the dark side of Mesangia, Gernet's childhood was brutal and vicious and generally remained that way his entire life. Born the youngest child of a captured lamia and a naga fairly high up in their hierarchy, the boy didn't find his life made any easier than a lesser-ranking naga's would be.
He was a precocious child and quite bloodthirsty, though he usually avoided getting into outright fights as much as possible, preferring to turn those above him against each other or trap them. However, he wasn't afraid to use his body to his advantage against anyone weaker than him, preferring long drawn out tortures to quicker battles. He quickly made a name for himself as both a skilled torturer and as one who was deeply devoted to Morgul. His first sacrifice being his own mother, followed by many more. At some point, Gernet was granted his glamour ability and used this to entice more lamia before sacrificing them cruelly. He also used his ability to climb the ranks, tricking those above him into thinking he was defenseless then killing them while they were otherwise occupied.
Eventually, as more and more Arores began disappearing, it was decided to make sure they stayed away. The higher-ranking, most devoted nagas used a mass sacrifice and captured human wizard to open a portal. Gernet was among these naga. He was chosen to enter both because of his subtlety and because he tended to have more self-control. He was not unwilling, his curiosity piqued by the idea of a new world. As far as Gernet is concerned, his main task is to explore this place and gain worshippers for Morgul. If he can harm the Arores along the way that's a bonus, as long as they don't return to Mesangia.
Resources: Lives in the dorms. Hunts for food and only has one set of clothes, provided by the school, which he usually doesn't wear. Looking for a job.
