Name: Seregaza "Gaza"
Age: 2, physically/mentally 16
Birthday: April 5th
Gender: Androgyne (they, them - but they don't care what pronouns other people use)
Species: God of pickpockets and buried treasure
Category: Student
Class: High School
Grade: 11th Grade
Appearance Description:
Gaza is androgynously pretty and youthful. At 5'7" their height is fairly average and they are skinny, with the barest hint of more feminine curves, which would be more obvious if they wore revealing clothes. Gaza's short-cut, usually messy hair is naturally dark brown but often dyed to a lighter shade. Their fair skin tans easily. Gaza has eyes of an indeterminate colour that seems to change depending on their mood, always dark - sometimes more hazel-to-brown, sometimes almost blue. They occasionally wear a bracelet that gives them a monkey tail.
Gaza dresses in whatever is comfortable. They like layers, hats, bulky jackets and pockets. They prefer neutral colours. More likely to wear pants than skirts, Gaza doesn't shy away from either and tends to use makeup sparingly if at all.
Youthful and exuberant, Gaza tends to run everywhere and has a sort of wide-eyed curiosity about everything. They can be sneaky if they want to be, and their natural grace is evident in their movements. They tend to be casual thieves more than the furtive sort. They have a higher-pitched, nearly child-like voice, with a strong Latin accent, which probably sounds similar to an Italian one to more modern ears.
Personality Description:
Gaza is a hyperactive, naive nuisance who has only been alive for two years, although they are mentally a teenager. Raised in the underworld by gods, they are inexperienced and unused to social conventions. Curious and slightly mischievous, Gaza wants to touch, taste, explore, and grab anything they can get their hands on. They have nearly no concept of personal property or space. If it's in someone's pocket, it's free range, and they will tuck whatever it is away somewhere. They would not care if someone took stuff from their pockets - they bury things they want to keep safe. They tend to be friendly, open to experience, and just a little more trusting than one might expect from a trickster god.
An impulsive hoarder, Gaza will take anything they find pretty or interesting, without regard to its actual value, and stash it away. They enjoy having lots of things, always wanting more, but at the same time they aren't miserly or overly attached to what they do have.
They are oddly open and honest in their theft - the kind to pick someone's pocket and then ask about what it is they found or ask a dragon to see its hoard. Gaza is unashamed and not easily frazzled or embarassed, maybe a little flighty on the surface, with an inquisitive, yet easily distracted mind.
Active Abilities:
Hidden - When they want to hide, they can become completely invisible - affects sight, hearing, and smell/taste. Doesn't affect magical detection/mind senses. They must be actively hiding (ie under cover or in a shadow). And they must stay in one spot. Small motions are fine, but no talking or taking action/moving from their hiding place. They can keep this up for as long as they can hold still.
Pickpocket - On top of their supernatural agility, a target will not notice Gaza when they are pickpocketing. This only applies to Gaza stealing items from or placing items in a person's pockets (belt pouches would count, but not purses or bags just being held). The target can notice Gaza approach and possibly be aware something is missing afterward if alert enough, but in the moment Gaza's hands are practically invisible and weightless. Anyone watching could potentially notice and warn the target, but not the target themselves. Does not affect the item grabbed in any way.
Buried Treasure - If they bury something underground, the universe considers it hidden. It has to actually be in the earth, but depth doesn't matter. The buried treasure can still be affected by the earth, its surroundings, or decay. No one can accidentally stumble across what they have buried or find it unless they have directions. Even if someone watched Gaza bury the item, they wouldn't be able to find it again. The directions can be given verbally or written down, and once given can be passed on to anyone by anyone. This can be bypassed by magic abilities. Gaza always knows where everything they have buried is, while it is buried and undestroyed. If the buried treasure is taken Gaza will know, but will no longer be able to sense it.
Monkey Tail Charm - A simple bracelet that gives them a monkey's tail when worn. The tail is fully prehensile, but couldn't carry anything heavier than a mousetrap. The tail can be injured and feel pain, but healing it is as easy as removing the charm and putting it back on.
Passive Abilities:
Nose for Treasure - Within 10' of a buried treasure, Gaza can pinpoint its exact location. This includes depth, so they wouldn't sense anything more than 10' deep. Buried treasure is anything buried in the ground that someone intended to hide. It doesn't include corpses or their valuables for the most part but can include things like bones dogs have buried.
God - Immortal/Ageless. Unaffected by disease/poison/drugs. Superhuman agility and reflexes, especially with regards to manual dexterity - could catch a bullet (but that would really hurt) or dodge one. Will rapidly regenerate/heal damage done to their hands, but otherwise no noticeable healing outside of the underworld. If they're killed they'll go to the underworld and resurrect fully healed and regenerated after a week (If their mom lets them come back again). Can be killed permanently by weapons/magic that are specifically enchanted against gods or unholy. Doesn't need to eat, but can. Doesn't require sleep physically, but mentally needs a few hours a day.
Weaknesses:
Underworld Dweller - Near-blind in the sunlight/under bright lights. Gaza is used to shadows and underground levels of light. Even reflected sunlight would be hard on their eyes. Overcast days would be tolerable, but still seem bright. They do still require light to see and they have no more night vision than a human raised in dimness would.
Biography:
A child of Laverna (thieves & cheats, the underworld) & Februus (purification, riches & death)
Gaza was raised in the underworld, born of a union between a Roman God and Goddess who met there. They met their older half-brother, Sean, for the first time a year after they were "born". Hearing Sean speak of the "normal" world and the island he was living on made Gaza want to go up there.
Their mother wasn't too sure they were ready, but kind of wanted them out of her hair so she bribed Sean into watching after his half-sibling. Gaza thought this was very amusing and went along with it. They don't mind being the kid, but they fully intend to explore things on their own.
Gaza was enrolled as a student at Starlight Academy as soon as they arrived on Manta Carlos. With the help of the crew, Sean was somehow able to keep them from getting arrested, eventually convincing them to only pickpocket friends and not talk about thievery in front of police.
Resources: Lives with and under the guardianship of Sean. They don't eat. Have some wealth from their parents, but it's not freely available. Pickpockets items of usually low value.
Additional Information:
Younger half-sibling of Sean O'Cermait
