For someone who lived on his own for a considerable amount of time, and attended the academy plus did the junior academy, Garrick looks pretty weak. He stands at a fairly small 5’4 with a slim build and no muscles when wearing his usual clothing. However, he actually has decent muscle, which is the result of a lot of close quarters training.
Garrick’s skin gets fairly pale if he isn’t out in the sun, but usually, it is slightly tanned. He doesn’t have any scars on his body, and his skin is fairly clear except for very light freckles just under his eyes. They are only noticeable in certain lighting, though.
Garrick has short dark blonde/light brown hair which has a peculiar style with the right half being a bit longer, and can get in front of his face occasionally, while the other half is shorter and somewhat spiky. He has no facial hair.
He has curious light brown eyes, very similar in colour to his hair.
When Garrick isn’t on duty, he’s usually wearing a white dress shirt, black trousers with black shoes, a suspender and brown belt, and a black jacket. When not wearing this, he’ll definitely be wearing some kind of smart-casual getup. He wears black framed glasses with every outfit.
When Garrick is on duty, he wears a typical uniform with a cap which helps keep his hair out of his eyes. He does have his glasses, and can usually be seen wearing them, but he takes them off if he has to do anything.
When in his owl form, he looks like a completely average sized, completely normal coloured barn owl.
Personality Description: Garrick, for a start, appears to be very childlike. He has naive belief in people and seems to distort his own truth to make things brighter than they are. He is very curious and energetic around people, and he loves interacting. But, he does have a social filter so he doesn’t just ask rude questions.
He also appears to be intelligent, but this is just because he has excellent (understatement) memory. So, he can appear quite intelligent at times but really, he’s just barfing words from memory. When it comes to actual understanding and problem solving, he’s a little faster but otherwise fairly average.
When it comes to his job and work, Garrick becomes surprisingly serious and apathetic. He’s fairly calm and level headed, and is able to make decisions quite quickly in high stress situations. He becomes detached from his emotions during these stress situations, and only focuses on getting the job done.
Active Abilities: Owl Form - Garrick is able to change from human form and owl form freely at will. When shifting from human form to owl form, all clothes he is currently wearing become fused along with the rest of his body, so when he shifts back into human form, he is fully clothed. His glasses will fall off as well unless pocketed, and handheld items will also fall off as well.
Forcefields - Garrick is able to summon a forcefield that can block anything that touches it from any side and angle. The shape, size and strength of the forcefield is adjustable, and it can take a variety of shapes. However changing the size of the forcefield will have an effect on the strength distributed.
The size of the forcefield will have an effect on how Garrick maintains them. For a forcefield smaller than it larger than the ‘average’ he is required to focus to keep the forcefield active. If he is staggered or surprised while maintaining focus, the forcefield will desummon.
The average size for a forcefield will be a forcefield 2 metres by 2 metres. This can be any shape, as long as it would fit in a square of the same lengths with the four sides each being touched by an edge of the shape. Anything smaller than this, or lager, will require concentration.
The average forcefield will be of average strength. A forcefield smaller than it will have increased strength, the smaller it gets. A forcefield larger than the average will have decreased strength, at boost of having more protection.
A strong forcefield can reliably block rounds from a Gatling gun for 60 seconds. An average forcefield can often stop all bullet types, but consistent attacking will quickly shatter it. A weak forcefield will show signs of damage after any attack, but requires a higher damage weapon such as a sniper round or just ramming it to break in one hit.
Garrick is able to desummon the forcefield at will, and can summon it again. If it was damage when desummoned, Garrick can wait 5 minutes for it to fully repair or use it in its damaged state. Due to how sensitive his eyes are in human form, he wears specially enchanted glasses which makes him have the same eye sensitivity as a human.

The assumption is that she left the newborn there in the hopes he’d die in the wilderness, but Garrick firmly believes that his mother knew he would survive.
As a newborn baby just abandoned in the forest, Garrick should’ve died. From starvation, from the cold, from some eager predator. There was a whole array. However, what happened was that he shifted for the first time into his owl form. Albeit he was a baby barn owl and still at risk, it was a marginal improvement. Strangely, a female barn owl who had recently lost one of her chicks took Garrick in. It’s practically impossible to explain why this happened, but once again, Garrick believes it was a final gift from his mother.
He then spent the next 4 years almost entirely in owl form. Only when he was 4 did he start going into his human form. He did this because of the scarcity of food in winter, and he was able to digest some plant life instead of prey when in human form. It helped him survive. He continued this mix until he was 6 years old. He was fully mature in owl form, and a 6 year old boy in human.
Rumours circulated of an owl spirit in the woods, who had the appearance of a young boy. Needless to say, the scouts decided to check it out. It was a very interesting search since it took them 6 months to finally find him. It was mostly due to him sticking in his owl form, and owls being quite tricky to try and track at times.
When he was finally found, the scouts took him to Manta Carlos, where he was turned over to the orphanage and remedial classes. He took to the classes quite well, and was actually adopted fairly quick. But then his new adoptive parents turned him back over. He was adopted yet again, but the same end. This happened several times over a period of a year, and the orphanage he was at were beyond confused why a sweet young boy was causing so many problems. It turns out, he would sneak out, do poorly with his studies, stay in owl form more often and cause mayhem. But he was a sweet boy at the orphanage again? They decided to just ask him why, in which he responded that one day his mother was going to come and get him, along with his father. He needed to be free for when they did.
So, he went through several years of his life still in the orphanage and remedial. Eventually, the school deemed he had caught up enough to be in the same classes as others his age. This was when he started 10th grade. He seriously considered what he wanted to do after highschool, and decided to do the Junior Cadet program in his last two years at high school. After highschool, he went on to go and attend the Police Academy.
He did his year, then did his probationary year on the force. He has now been a police officer for roughly a year.
