Name: Galen Abel - Nether Redsmith.
Age: 23 - 300+. (Appears 23).
Birthday: March 2nd - December 25th.
Gender: Male; he/him.
Species: Human.
Category: Student.
Class: College.
Grade: 2nd Year.
College Major: Mathematics.
Appearance Description: Compared to his younger siblings, Galen is taller and more physically fit than them. He stands at a height of 6'3, with a sturdy build. His build is more on the thin side, with not having particularly broad shoulders or not being too muscular. But does still have a decent amount of muscle, and definitively appears masculine.
He always has a slight tan to his skin, but can tan further and doesn't usually pale in colder weather. Rarely burns, always will gain a healthy looking tan! His skin always seems a little hot to the touch. Has burn scars on his hands and forearms. Has a black-silhouette phoenix tattoo on his right shoulder blade. The ink is made of a different substance to usual tattoo ink.
He has shorter, light brown hair which can appear as a rich colour in bright lighting. It's styled pretty messily, and seems to occasionally cover his face but it never truly gets in the way.
His eyes are certainly his most striking feature, other than his fashion decisions. As Galen, his eyes are a bright gold, and appears as a dull glowing orange when he is using his abilities. As Nether, his eyes remain roughly the same colour but the centre takes on the slightest milky blue tinge.
As Nether, he is blind.
Galen has a preference for smart-casual or straight up formal dress wear, regardless of what he is doing. For day to day life, he often wears waist coats or jackets over a dress shirt, with black trousers are shoes. When he gets the opportunity, he will gladly wear a suit that is usually tailor made to fit his body perfectly. A particular favourite is a blue suit and tie. He wears pretty typical workout clothes for when he does workout.
Nether is a bit of the opposite to Galen in that Nether greatly enjoys wearing casual clothing. He shows a preference towards loose clothing that is easy to move in, plus comfortable. Nether doesn't like wearing an unnecessary amount of layers and will stick to the bare minimum in regards to dressing for the weather. When he does have to dress smartly, he does clean up nicely and willingly wears a suit much like Galen. Mostly because it's easier to do so.
Most of the clothing is made of a peculiar metal like substance.
Personality Description: Galen has a fairly consistent personality, and only shows differences when it comes to friends and family. He's usually a rather calm, considerate guy. He quite enjoys the simple things, and has an enjoyment of helping others. Especially with teaching. However, when it comes to his friends and family, he can become angry rather easily. He's rather naggy, and a little overbearing. 'He's only like this because he cares about you, dear.'
Nether is the particularly unpredictable of the two. His usual personality is naive and easygoing. He's an aggressive optimist and always looks on the bright side. However, if the situation calls it, he becomes surprisingly serious and remains extremely calm under pressure. Even if the stakes are friends, family, his own life, the entire universe. He rarely gets angry or scared, and doesn't usually dwell on sadness.
Active Abilities: Two Souls - Galen and Nether are two separate souls who inhabit the same body. The body was Galen's to begin with, so Galen is usually the one in control. However, upon agreement between the two, the control of the body can be switched fairly freely. However, this isn't a guaranteed process and occasionally it gets stuck on one control with no way to change. This happens a lot when Galen is angry, the control will automatically switch to Nether.
The souls can communicate with each other simply like telepathic voices. They know each other inside out, and it is impossible to keep a secret. They know the other's memories, thoughts, emotions.
Fire Magic/Manipulation - In both forms, Galen/Nether are able to make the use of extremely controlled fire magic. The only difference is the experience in using it. Both are able to control the flames to a degree that allow them to scorch specific targets, and to not harm others. They are able to manipulate flames that they did not create, and are able to subdue the flames to a point they can be extinguished easily. Both require to do movements with their body to create and control the fire.
Nether has significantly more experience with the fire, and is even able to give off a mild amount of heat which he uses as a makeshift sonar. Despite being blind, he is able to pinpoint very specific targets and fire accurately without causing much damage anywhere else. Fire usually begins in the palm of the hands, then grows according to the user's wishes. If the conditions do not provide enough of the three requirements for fire to occur, the user will find great difficulty in using it. There isn’t particulalry a set limit to how much fire can be created or controlled, but the relationship is definitely that the more fire is created and/or controlled, the more energy is going to be used.
The fire magic is directly fuelled by Galen/Nether's energy. Not having sufficient energy starts eating away at the physical health and mental energy of the user. Too much use can potentially kill them.
There are three requirements for combustion to occur: oxygen, heat and fuel. If there is a low supply of any of these three, the capability of magic use is severely reduced. If there is virtually none of all three, the magic will immediately feed off the physical health and mental energy of the user.
Magic Direction Material - The clothing that Galen/Nether wear is infused with a special material inspired by a similar material from Terra. It obviously hasn't been recreated accurately, but it serves its purpose. When Galen/Nether use their fire magic, the substance glows an orange and essentially helps with the flow of energy that fuels the magic. The tattoo is also made of a milder form of this substance and allows greater control in the right arm.
Passive Abilities: Mild Heat Emission - In both forms, Galen/Nether gives off a mild amount of heat which can certainly be felt by people when close. Definitely can be felt when touching him. The temperature increases and decreases according to the emotions of Galen/Nether. Nether makes use of the emission to assist in his little sonar. Although it can get hot enough to be uncomfortable, it cannot become hot enough to harm the average human so it would only pose a risk to someone who has a pretty bad heat weakness.
Weaknesses: Water - Galen/Nether has a natural weakness to water, no matter what. They cannot hold their breath as long as the average person, with being able to hold their breath underwater for 2 and a half minutes at most. They find their magical capability to be reduced. They become severely cold after extensive water contact, which can feed into the combustion triangle weakness (heat). If attacked by water based attacks while using the flames, it will do significantly more damage. For example, if a regular person was to have water sprayed at them, it probably wouldn’t do anything. If this happened to Galen/Nether, it would at least partially extinguish any flames and make their body softer, literally. It wouldn’t take much to pierce skin. Combine magic or a water based weapon, then it can pierce through any defences and would require less effort to hurt them.
Nullification - If Galen/Nether are put under the effect of a nullification, such as the bracelets or even some abilities, they will not be able to use their magic for 2 hours after removal of the effect. During the effect, they will not be able to switch control and will not emit heat. They will feel incredibly drained, and if not under supervision, could pass out.
Common Magical Items: None.
Resources: Lives in a dorm. Has a part-time job as a teaching assistant for middle school English. Receives an allowance from his family back in America.
Biography: Galen Abel and Nether Redsmith. Currently, they are like two sides of the same coin. But the two souls once used to be separate people. Each had their own life and experiences, their own families. That is not the case now.
When Galen Abel turned 16, a summoning ritual attempting to summon souls and bind them to various objects didn't exactly go according to plan. This was because meanwhile on Terra, there was an experiment trying to reach out to souls of notable magic users and to bring them back to life. There was the briefest moment of overlap, but it was enough for both events to be considered failures. Unbeknown to them, a single soul managed to find its way onto Earth. Because of the remnant energy from the summoning, it was able to survive for a short while. It accidentally passed through a teenager walking about his daily life, and bound to his body.
This began the rather complicated relationship between Galen and Nether. Galen had to learn to control the new fire magic practically forced upon him, and deal with the pure energy that was in his head. Not to mention the lack of privacy now. Meanwhile, Nether had to adapt to being once more in a younger body, and not always being in pure control. He also had to take on the mantle of a teacher in order to teach Galen the flames he now possessed.
But, it all worked out pretty good. Galen ended up being able to go to university, and was scheduled to continue his plans on eventually becoming a teacher. That was until his younger twin brothers shipped off to Manta Carlos. He was already in the know about the island, so he scheduled his move there as soon as possible. He transferred from his current college to the one on the island. It is only recently that he's moved and settled in. He fully plans on giving a good speaking to Camille and Morgan, who both seemed to have gotten themselves in trouble.
With the help of the rather doting Nether, he hopes he'll be able to set them straight, and one day become a teacher at the academy.
Additional Information: Galen is the older brother of Morgan and Camille Abel. The body has two souls of different personalities: Galen Abel and Nether Redsmith. Nether actually knew Sark Sason, but only briefly.

If there is virtually none of all three, the magic will immediately feed off the physical health and mental energy of the user.
The energy of a magic user from Terra is somewhat like a life force, or a well. Let’s say it’s full, at 100%, the person has full energy. Minor control and low power magic usage, such as a small flame in your hands, weak blasts, heating something up, will only take around 10% of the energy. Anything in this category which is bumped up in strength, or requires more concentration to keep under control, will take an additional 10% to a total of 20%. For a powerful blast, or a lot of fire generated, but with not much concentration and control, it’ll be a total of 40%. In the same scenario, but with control, it’d be 55% to 60%. This means the likelihood of the user using two very powerful, controlled blasts in quick succession is low.
In order to regain energy, the user must spend time not doing magic. The quickest way to get energy back would be sleeping. Simply resting for 6 hours if the energy is at 75% will restore back to 100% with no problem. Being at 0%, or further, requires a minimum 12 hours sleep before the user will even be at 25% again.
A user can go beyond the limit of 100, however this officially eats away at themself. Over use of magic once they are at 0% just has the potential to kill the user through exhaustion.

Biography: Galen Abel and Nether Redsmith. Currently, they are like two sides of the same coin. But the two souls once used to be separate people. Each had their own life and experiences, their own families. That is not the case now.
Nether was born in the island country of Linora, in Terra. He was born to the Redsmith family, a family of great wealth and industry, with many members being strong fire magic users. They created a variety of products that used a material that could ‘conduct’ Terran magic. In short? They made a lot of weapons and armours that magic users could use to boost their own magic. The head of the business would pass down to the eldest child of the current head, or a sibling if there wasn’t a successor.
Nether was born to Andor Redsmith, the man who was the current head of the Redsmith family and the business. Not long after he was born, Andor removed the bond an immortal had with himself, then changed the bond so the immortal would be sworn to protect Nether. The immortal was called Tags, and was an excellent protector and teacher. But this was before Andor discovered that Nether was born blind. This immediately caused tension, due to an old superstition that stated those born blind had no soul. On top of that, Andor was furious that his eldest child seemed to have been born without magic, would never be able to completely take care of themself, and was now bonded with easily one of best immortals the Redsmiths had.
Andor was going to have Nether killed, but Tags wouldn’t allow it. Partially because he was sworn to protect Nether, but also because Tags didn’t want harm to fall to an innocent child. Andor was then going to attempt to give Nether away, Tags be damned. But Nether’s mother convinced Andor to not go ahead. She wanted to keep her son, and told Andor that when Nether was old enough, he could pass the title as head of the family onto a sibling. So, Nether escaped being killed and cast aside from his family. But there were still problems.
Nether lived his entire life never seeing any affection from towards himself from his father. He was pretty much raised entirely by his mother and Tags. His father only showed affection to his younger siblings.
A lot of the time, Nether was protected by Tags from those who tried to hurt him. As the eldest child of a wealthy family in a country of unrest, he was the target of that kinda thing. How this was being dealt changed when Nether was 16. This was when he developed fire magic. A very rare kind with extreme power, but Nether could control as easy as the rest of his body. It took some years for him to master the magic, but when he did he was able to create firestorms where people would emerge unscathed, and able to even heal with his fire.
Then, at the age of 19, he met the woman who would become his future wife. They married when he was 23, and not long after they had a daughter. It was around this time Ruvuk met his wife’s half-brother, Ruvuk. He was involved in a pretty convoluted prophecy that required 10 heroes to fight 4 gods. Being the God of Bloodlust, God of Anger, God of Fear, and the Goddess of Sorrow. Nether decided to offer assistance, particularly because of his strong magic and one specific trait of his. Nether fought the God of Anger on two occasions, and almost killed him in both. This is because the God of Anger gets stronger from the anger of those near him, but Nether didn’t get angry.
At the end of the day, Nether was a human. He had only 2 children, and lived to his 90s before he peacefully died of old age. His skill as a magic user, his kindness towards others, and his work to help those get to better place than they were before, cemented his placed in the history of Terra. Hundreds of years later, he was still known. It was for this reason that he would find himself once more, somewhat, alive.

Galen Abel was born the oldest son in the main branch of the Abel family. The Abel family are a family of dominantly human supernatural beings. Four years after he was born, he was blessed with two twin brothers. An additional seven years after that, he gained his youngest sibling, his sister. Being the oldest sibling, and the future head of the Abel family, he was a responsible young boy. He worked to be praised, and he worked to be a role model to the younger members in his family. Even outside of his family. Galen was informed on the nature of his family at a young age, despite his siblings being scheduled to be informed upon turning 21 respectively.
Galen received a private education, and planned to go on to a highly regarded university to study English. He planned to go to university after, to get another degree, and during this gain experience in teaching so he could eventually become a teacher. However, this didn't exactly go according to plan.
