The forecast had called for a beautiful day, and when Aylin woke up on Thursday morning she was not dissapointed. The sun was shinning brightly, and even as early as 8 am temperatures were already climbing. The young Lamia had wasted no time in getting ready right after she had woken up. The plan was to go to the beach with Sean, an Irish boy she had met a few days ago whom was proving to be quite the charmer. It was strange. In the last few days she had had more people interested in her than she had had in the whole time she had been here.

Getting ready was easy enough. She started by throwing on her Bikini top, a red and black number that didn't cover too much. For a bottom she grabbed a white ruffled beach skirt and tied it around her waste, taking a few moments to adjust it so that it didn't show off anything too naughty. The tricky part was her hair, given it's length, but a few minutes later and she had it neatly braided up and hanging loosely over her shoulder. Given that they would need to catch the Tram to the coast Aylin also grabbed a rather long t-shirt and put it on over her beach wear so that she wouldn't cause too many stares as they went out. Once they hit the sand though she would shed the extra shirt faster than her skin.

A ring at her bell announced that Sean had arrived and Aylin quickly slipped out of her bathroom, and into her main room to open the door. "C'mon in." She said as she allowed him room to enter. "I'm just grabbing a few quick things and then we can head out. With that she left the room, sort of. While she was not there her tail remained stretched into the living room, moving occasionally as she ventured deeper into the house. It was in a way almost like an obscure leash that allowed one to know where she was hiding, if she were.

Before long Aylin returned with a bag over her shoulder. Inside was a large beach blanket and several towels. There was also a radio, some water bottles and sunscreen. "Welp, I think that's it for now. Lets go hit the sand." She said excitedly as she took Sean by the arm and headed for the door.

*I know that that is not Aylin in the picture, just giving you an idea as to how her suit looks on her.

No sooner had Sean arrived than was he being dragged along by Aylin. "Hello, oh, we're already moving." It was an unusual feeling being pulled along by someone, but not at all unpleasant. Deciding against making any arguments, Sean made up his mind to talk about music for a while. "So, if you don't mind me asking, why the cello? I'm not complaining at all, just curious as to why you chose that particular instrument. They say you can tell a lot about a musician by a combination of the instrument they play and the way they play their respective instrument." Sean had never been out with a woman before today, so he didn't quite know how to act. However, he definitely knew better than to be rude in any sense of the word. "Oh, and how are your classes going?" The only concern that Sean really had today, aside from not screwing things up, was keeping the food containers in the large bag on his back until they arrived at the beach. "Oh, right, I just remembered something." Saying so, he used his free hand to pull the harmonica out of his pocket and started playing an upbeat tune as he finally caught his feet up to Aylin's pace.

it wasn't hard to sense that Sean was nervous. Aylin could see it in so many aspects. that was ok though, it made it feel like he wasn't just putting the moves on her to get what he wanted. And once he got his initial date jitters out of the way he could open up and enjoy himself a little better.

She was leading him along down the street towards one of the above ground trams. It would go straight through the downtown core, before finally heading off to the beach on the west end of the island. From there it was a straight shot to the warm sand, and then just a matter of finding a nice spot to set up.

"Well I chose the cello, and promise not to laugh, because it is a big instrument, and I'm a big girl. It felt right and just seems to fit me on so many levels." That was the solid truth behind it. She had wanted to play music but no other instrument seemed to be made for her as much as the cello. "Most girls play a cello in a chair with their legs spread wide. But I am a classy girl. I hold my cello close and and embrace it like a lover." A smirk crossed her lips at the obvious jab she had made at human cellists.

Up ahead she could see the Tram, and as they neared it Sean began playing his harmonica. It was a charming little instrument to say the least. "We can talk about classes later." She said continuing her smirk as she they neared the waiting transportation. at this point in the morning there were few commuters here, so the Tram itself was relatively empty, which allowed Aylin an easy chance to get inside before it started moving again.

"Ok. So... Why the Harmonica?" She asked as she took a seat, tucking her tail under the bench.

Placing the harmonica back in his pocket, Sean paused for a moment before answering. "Well, please try not to laugh, but I suppose you could say that I felt a sort of calling. As if this was the talent handed down to me by Bran, The Dagda, Lugh, and Taliesin. Unlike most of the modern Irishmen, my family holds firm to the old ways, and when we are given a gift from the gods, it is not our place to question or reject it." It was at this point that Sean addressed Aylin's earlier comments about why she played the cello. "You know, I've never heard you play your cello. If you'd be willing to treat me to the chance to hear you play, I dare say I'd enjoy it." As the cityscape passed them by, Sean could hardly wait for the moment of their arrival at the beach. It had been some time since he had felt the sand beneath his feet, smelled the salt in the air, or even had a decent tan. This was certainly a trip worth taking, and with such good company it was likely to be one of the better ones he had taken in his life.

So Sean was driven by tradition and customs. That was a wonderful thing in itself. Too many people lost their heritage and simply lived their own lives. Aylin wished very much that she knew her species or family history so that she might hold true to the old ways. So far all she had known about people like her came from old legends. And she doubted many of them.

"Oh you may have heard me and just not known it." Aylin said with a wink. "I play all the time in the music hall, though people usually don't stop to pay attention." She knew full well what he was hinting at and she wasn't opposed to playing for him in person. "Though if you would like I could play for you properly so you would know it was really me." This was followed with a smile as she cast a look over her shoulder watching the buildings and people passing by. At this rate they would be down town soon.

Now though her attention went to the bag of food containers Sean had over his shoulder. She flicked her forked tongue excitedly looking for any scent coming from the bag. Anything that might hint to the contents hidden away inside. "So.. What ya got in the bag?" She asked slyly.

"Oh, right. Well, I did offer to cook, and I did. I have an assortment of cooked meats here, including seafood. Fried shrimp, various forms of steak, boneless pork ribs, and a few multicultural specialties, two of which are from japan and involve squid and octopus. Of course, I also have some stuff that isn't meat, like salads, some assorted fruits, and a few pies." While it wasn't exactly his reason for taking classes, cooking was something that Sean thoroughly enjoyed. "Maybe we could cook together some day." Cooking with another person was something that Sean had never done, and he thought it might be good to do so. As he thought about this, he became distracted by a loud rumbling, which emanated from his won stomach. "So, would you like to try some of it? I'd feel guilty if I had to eat in front of someone."

She wasn't particularly hungry at the moment, but she was never one to turn down a quick snack. "Alright. Surprise me with something." She said smiling happily. She watched the bag for a moment contemplating which goody she would be given, and then the idea occurred to her. "Tell you what. I'll close my eyes, and you feed it to me." She giggled a little as she spoke.

A moment later Aylin closed her eyes and pointed herself towards Sean. "Nothing too big. I don't want to choke." She said with another giggle as she opened her mouth, revealing her many pointed teeth and forked tongue.

"Well, alright. I guess I can do that." Sean had never fed someone in such a literal sense before. It was a new concept to him. Still, not wanting to disappoint, he brought out the container with the pork cutlets, and sparred one with a fork before bringing it to Aylin's mouth. "Gotta say, this is somewhat of a new experience for me. I mean, I've fed people before, but never in quite such a literal sense of the word." Waiting for Aylin to eat the small piece of pork, Sean started thinking. The more he thought, the redder he turned. "You know, to be honest, I was kinda surprised when you took me up on this offer."

She smiled and closed her lips as the morsel of food touched her tongue. She could tell it was port right away, its softer texture was a dead giveaway. but the taste was something else all together. It had been well prepared. She kept her eyes closed for a moment savoring the rich flavors of the cutlet, before finally swallowing the piece.

Aylins eyes opened and her smile widened. "That was very good." She said still grinning as her tongue flicked out again. "Of course I'd take you up on this. Your very sweet. and this is just what I needed." She laughed giving him a little nudge with her tail. This was when she looked over to his tail, which was considerably different from hers. "So... Your tail. How did you get it? Where you born with it or where you the result of some government operation?"

"My.....tail? Well, I was born with it, naturally. Though the color of it gave my father quite a shock, since most people that have animal mutations usually have their fur the same color as their natural head hair. I think it has to do with the level of respect that my father had with other wolves." Thinking of his home made Sean a lot less nervous. In fact, one might even say that he was perfectly calm at this point in time, just enjoying the ride along-side the one person on this island that he could truly call his friend. "You know, to be honest, I think you're probably the only friend that I have right now. I mean, I'm pretty new to this place."
