Despite her being something of a moody goth Shiro was a social butterfly, or at least she was to an extent. So she very much took the opportunity to drag Eva to the festival, or more accurately she flew them there on her staff.

"Food, music, fun, this is exactly what you need hon," she'd say, hopping off her staff and helping her friend off of it. "We'll get snacks, check out the sites," she'd grin, "then you're gonna have to give me a dance."

The cat girl would start to lead her friend further in. "Want something surgery? Pretty sure I see some cotton candy up ahead."

Evangeline had officially decided that flying was rather fun, at least when it was done with Shiro. Anyone else and she might have felt unsafe, but she seemed to naturally feel much safer when her friend was with her. As the two hopped off the staff she did feel a little dizzy, but it faded fast and she soon felt like she was ready to have some fun. Shiro was right - this was what she needed after being holed up in her room for so long.

A giggle escaped her as Shiro mentioned dancing, and she almost couldn't tell if the other was serious or not. It filled her with a fluttery feeling in her stomach, and she wasn't sure why. However, she quickly decided not to answer as they started approaching the food. "Oh goodness, cotton candy? Gosh, it's been so long since I've had any, I would love some!"

"Yes, let's get some." She'd gently bump her hip against hers as they stopped at the candy stall. "First round is on me," the cat shifter would giggle, ordering two large things of cotton candy for both of them. "I haven't had any in a while either, usually something you get at fairs and festivals."

She'd take a large bite of her cotton candy, bits of the sugary treat sticking to her cheeks, though she didn't notice. "Ok, so, what's your favorite treats to get at these kinda events?" she'd ask her friend as she motioned for her to follow her.

"There cotton candy of course, back in Japan we had all kinds of snacks you silly Americans never get," she'd say teasingly, sticking her tongue out at her.

Eva felt quite excited to be getting cotton candy again. As Shiro bought some she got a little distracted by all the lights and sounds surrounding her, so it took the other speaking again to snap her out of it and take her own cotton candy. She took a large bite - it was sweet and fluffy and sticky, just like she remembered it. Continuing to eat as she walked, she listened to Shiro ask her question.

"American? I'm Canadian, you silly goose." She stuck her tongue out back at Shiro, then laughed a little. "It's so hard to choose a favorite... but I think I have to go with cake pops. They come in so many different flavors, and you can decorate them to look so cute! What kind of treats do they have down in Japan? I know there's mochi, but that's the only one I've ever heard of."

"Canada is part of North American soooooo...," she'd giggle and gently poke her friend's cheek, "still technically American." She'd gently bump her hip against hers and took another bite of her cotton candy, looking over at Eva she'd quickly steal a bite out of hers, flashing a playful smirk as she did.

"Taiyaki was always good, fish shaped, had different fillings," her cat tail would slowly sway behind her, "there was also django, tasty dumplings on a stick."

She'd grin. "We had cake pops too, actually let's go find some." Taking her hand she'd lead her into wandering about, searching for the tasty treat. "We must try all the foods, then we'll be ready to dance."

Eva playfully rolled her eyes, in response to this, and couldn't help but laugh a little. When Shiro stole a bite she let out a little shriek and almost tried to bop her on the head with it - that is, until she realized that doing so would get cotton candy all through her friend's hair. The result was her waving her arm in a frantic circle before giving up and sighing at Shiro's playfulness.

She listened to Shiro describe Japanese treats, nodding and trying to imagine what they must taste like. Gladly gripping Shiro's hand, she joined her on the hunt for tasty cake pops, scanning the stalls they passed by until she spotted what they were looking for.

"I see some! Over there!"

Now she was taking the lead, guiding towards the stand so they could order a few for each of them. As they did so, she turned to Shiro and once again felt that strange little flutter in her stomach as she asked the question - "Where do you think we'll dance, hm? I wonder what kind of songs there'll be..."

Following her friend's lead she'd snatch up a few cake pops as soon as she could. Devouring the treats as fast as she could, it'd been a while since she'd had any. "Gods it's been so long, I've missed these," the cat shifter would take one more big bite to finish off the cake pop, "I'll have to get a recipe for them later."

Shiro would look back to her friend. "Not sure about what kind of music but I saw a dance area back there," she'd motion in the direction, "so we can go there."

The cat shifter's eyes would linger on her friend for a moment, she'd felt those familiar fluttering feelings as well. She was hesitant to act on them, at least for now.

"Think you can keep up with me?" she'd ask with a challenging smirk.
