full moon

It was a beautiful night. The sky was clear, and the moon was round as an orb in the sky.

Kiko had to make up an excuse to leave the penthouse for the night in some way or other. His powers were at their peak that night. He could feel the monster threatening to break out of the skin, itchy, whole body itchy to break out of this silly mask. He was hungry. So hungry. It drove him mad. Kiko scratched his skin, and lord, it was already peeling before he reached an alley. A thick slab of his arm fell down on the ground. He paled, hoping nobody saw that.

As soon as he was in the alley, he ripped it off, all off. It came off easy. That was what his body wanted that night, couldn't even hold this form for too long. He heard a rustle nearby. Kiko quickly scaled the wall, watching from the rooftops with glowing eyes. The person knelt down and touched the skin on the ground, baffled at why something like this could be there. His predatory instincts flared up. He clutched the side before diving, breaking the person's neck and killing them in one, swift motion. He ripped their chest open and feasted on their organs, tasting a sweetness no confection in this island could ever emulate. More, more. He ate the choice parts, wasn't much for finishing everything up, really? It was too early to end the hunt.

Kiko prowled the streets more, sneaking and hiding in the shadows, form horrific and face drenched in blood.

Kylar had never killed anyone before. Most of his feeding before this point had come from his family, his mother, who would sneak meat from morgues or graverobbing. Old meat wasn't very tasty. He had made the decisions that the next full moon he would go off hunting, and so the boy donned an outfit meant to hide his identity and went on the hunt.

It became increasingly apparent that he wasn't the only one out and about hunting that night. He came across the body, nearly cold and already half eaten. He finished off what the other had left. His people were part scavenger anyway, built to eat all the parts of the body other hunters didn't appreciate, like the bones and marrow.

Kylar stopped hunting people and started hunting whichever creature had made this mess, excited and not at all nervous. Somewhere along the way, skin had switched out for fur and two legs for four. Kylar didn't typically use his Crocotta form, too large, about the size of a small horse. He didn't think he had the same drive for it that others felt. There was never a hard need when he wasn't feeling the lure of a predator, but there was one now. Sickly sweet and clung to the inside of his chest, drawing him off. It took all he had not to give a wicked hyena's laughter to the moon.

What Kylar found, he had never seen before. Maybe a ghoul? But too large and too bulky. This island had a way of surprising people, so Kylar wasn't put off. He gave a cry, and it truly was a cry, almost akin to a baby's excited wail.

Kiko was already far off from his original victim, running from alley to alley and through the darker areas of local parks in a frenzy. It was wonderful, the way the cold night air blew against his face, the rush of the full moon, the thrill of the hunt. Kiko clawed his way up a building, watching a group of girls make their way to the club. They smelled heavenly, and they were pretty, scantily clad in skin-tight outfits as if they were gifts wrapped up all pretty just for him. He prowled the rooftops to get ready to strike as soon as the opportunity presented itself.

It wasn't that long before he noticed he was being followed. Kiko turned around and found a rather large beast watching him. He wasn't intimidated. He perked up and met eye contact, circling him, studying and establishing a sort of dominance with the introduction. Interesting. Very interesting. Kiko always loved the prospect of friends!

He ran away like a bat out of hell.

If this "predator" earned its name, it would know he wanted him to chase him.

Kiko eventually stopped at a rather dark warehouse. Couldn't — couldn't communicate in this form. He entered the empty open area and started ripping the monster skin off, bloody, viciously. He threw chunks of it on the floor. It was fine, it was fine. He'd already fed. He wasn't sated, but it was enough.

He leaned against a rather massive crate, watching the entrance for signs of the predator. "Hey there," he said, panting, a bloody smile on his lips. "Don't be shy. Come here. I want to be friends."

Kylar's ears perked when the other creature circled him. He never let the beast leave his gaze for no predator would let another have its back. The second Kiko darted off Kylar was on his heels, silent besides a slight playful growl.

The Crocotta trotted into the warehouse not long after Kiko and canted his head to the right curiously as the other man tore at his skin to return to a more humanoid form. Kylar sniffed at a piece of meat on the ground and tried a bite, but found he didn't like the taste of whatever this was.

When he was beckoned over, Kylar looked up at Kiko and considered him. He mozied over, taking his sweet time and inspecting the other man. He was attractive. Sounded cute, too.

Onc e Kylar was in front of Kiko he transformed himself. His was cleaner and quicker. Red eyes met brown, and Kylar grinned back, the same sharpness to his expression that the blood gave to Kiko's.

"Hey, I'm all for a little friendship. I've never smelled anything like you before. What are you?"
