Alice Mordrake hated her dorm. In her eyes, it was a tiny, dirty, filthy place fit only for cockroaches and mice. The bed-sheets where made of "itchy, low-grade, cheap fabric" likely "treated with toxic chemicals" to her. The furniture was "poorly-constructed, hard and uncomfortable." The whole place was "unbearably small...like living in the bathroom of a WWII submarine." That's what Alice thought of it, anyway. In actuality, her dorm was quite -nice-. It was clean, well-kept, comfortable and was even one of the few to actually have a full bathroom. However, to a girl as privileged, spoiled and overindulged as miss Mordrake anything less then a mansion may as well be a grass hut. She was used to luxury, and the school forcing her to live with less for a grand total of five weeks was utter torture.

Only her roomate Soren made it livable for her. Soren was good company, that much was for certain. The boy was one of the few people Alice could hold a proper conversation with, and he even shared her love of technology! However, despite the good fortune of being paired with a ideal roommate, Alice could still not help but want out of that "tiny, dirty, low-class dungeon" of a room. Soren was off doing -whatever- it is he did when they weren't hacking computers or talking business, and Alice had decided to sneak up to the rooftops just to get out of that "terrible" dorm.

She sat totally alone, dangling her legs over the edge of the roof as they swayed back and forth with joyous energy. Her long blond hair fluttered slightly in the afternoon breeze as her amber eyes intently read the pages of the manga held in her delicate hands. Why can't Naruto be more like this? Alice thought to herself as she took in the latest chapter of Shingeki no Kyojin. Indeed, her manga, anime and videogames where some of the only things keeping her sane. Running a multi-planar empire, after all, was trying work. Between minion mishaps, rebellious systems, tratiors within and her pet projects here at Starlight Academy on top of all that, Alice used these things as her means of escape....even if it was only temporary.

Of course, all of the stuff she did would work out in the end. It was all one big game for her...a game that she would most certainly win. After all, if anybody should rule the multiverse...it should be her! Or at least, thats what Alice believed. However, right now, she was just glad to be engrossed with her manga and away from that "nasty, awful" dorm. However, little did she know she would soon have unexpected company.

Calan floated just above the steps, making his way up to the roof of the school building. His guitar, a mix between an acoustic and an electric (and looking damn sexy, if you asked him), was zipped securely in the black case strapped across his back. He had gotten his schedule and plan of the school earlier that morning, and was given a day off to simply relax and explore the campus. For this, Calan was immensely grateful. After yesterday's events, he certainly needed a rest.

Speaking of yesterday, talk about twenty four hours of solid hell. Maybe it wasn't his -worst- memory, but it was certainly high up there. 'Honestly,' he wondered, 'who else goes through all that in one day...?' He was beaten and nearly raped, had his shin probably broken, killed a man, shipped himself out of his hometown, and had to fight a crazy just to get a damn dorm. And now, he didn't even know where Addy was... What a splendid 36 hours!

A soft, nearly inaudible sigh left his lips, ones that were pulled into his signature smirk-smile currently-a-mask... thing that he always wore. At least he looked sexy again, even if his look was calmer - because, as much as he hated to admit it, half of his hotness was not there, the night before. Dark red skinny jeans, the color of blood, adorned his lower half, while a white tee with the words 'F**K ME like you HATE ME" printed in silver-white block letters was loose around his midriff. He'd left his black vest out of the combo, today, choosing a grey hoodie which he wore unzipped. Finally, he wore a pair of silver and red converse.

Sure, he still had those nasty bruises, that broken leg and a couple black choking marks around his neck, but Calan Marshall was damn sexy again. At least the bandages under his sleeves didn't show, right? Meh, he wouldn't have cared anyway.

Upon arriving at the top of his staircase, levitating silently over the ground, he spotted a girl - three years younger, maybe? - on the other side of the room, diligently reading... something he couldn't see from where he was. Deciding to have a bit of fun, he floated over quietly, not making his presence known. Slowly, he rose himself over her, before suddenly coming to levitate upside down in front of her, arms occupied with keeping his guitar on his back.

Knowing she's see him now, he cut a somewhat smug smile at her, his crimson-looking hair falling away from his face. "Helloooo, little lady~" he cooed, a sly and playful look in his eyes. So he had always slightly liked children? It wasn't like he was being a pedophile about it - it was just friendly!

Alice certainly didn't expect a suprise visit, let alone one from a total stranger who apparently was pretty beat up and had the power to...fly...or perhas just levitate, maybe? Needless to say this strange engima of a boy interested Alice, to say the least. She could see he was dressing and carrying himself like he was -trying- to be attractive, something that kinda scared the young girl as she took her eyes off her manga to look up at her new vistor. He better know I'm too young for that kind of thing! If he doesn't, I'll destroy his mind in one go! Alice thought to herself. However, in the outside world, she to was wearing a mask. She had a friendly smile on her face and kept her concerns well-hidden from Calan.

"Hello!" She said cheerfully to the vampire. "I wasn't really expecting a vistor, I'm Alice Mordrake, by the way...and your name is?" Alice said quickly in an energetic, happy tone.

Calan's smirk-smile grew a little more smile-smile like at her energetic greeting. Maybe it was because he had been treated like total shit as a child, but it always made him happier when kids smiled. He supposed he also grew jealous at those times, but his relief always outweighed his envy. "Calan Marsall," he replied, before righting himself in the air. He continued to float, just passed where the roof ended and the drop-off began, with a slightly serious look to his face. His smile has disappeared for a moment while he looked her over, though here wasn't even a hint of lust in his currently-cerulean depths, before a grin broke his face again. One of his clawed fingers came up and promptly poked her nose, before retreating again. "Not that I'm a pedo or anything, but you're a cute kid," he said simply.

...Calan hoped she didn't take that the wrong way... He'd already been chased by a crazy mother wielding a broom, purse or large stick enough times... He wasn't a pedo, damnit!

With that comment in the air, he moved to sit beside her on the roof, legs hanging carefully over the edge as not to jostle his shin. Amused curiosity evident on his face, he blatantly leaned over and looked onto the pages of the book in her hands. "Shingeki no Kyojin? Been meaning to read that..." he commented, before righting himself again. He fixed her with a pouting expression, half thoughful, and added in a half-amused tone, "It's been on my list for a while... I just have no money!"

Calan slid the guitar off his back, before placing it beside him on the side farthest from the girl. He'd really been hoping to play some today, maybe work on a song or a cover or one, but it seemed that his YouTube subscribers would have to wait a little longer for a new video. But damn... those people were ravenous sometimes. So many requests, so little patience... He had a life too! Sure, his life pretty much sucked, internet and music being his only escape... Sure, they all knew he felt how he did, and they knew he loved to record for them... But seriously, even if he didn't want to live his life, he still had to! He couldn't always escape....

Ahh, bad memories, bad memories. With that, his mind returned to the world of the living, though he had only zoned out for a second. Regardless of his real life, he needed to find time to record some music and post it, and he needed to find a job, preferably somewhere where he could sing and play to earn his way... This was one reason he didn't want to move...

...Should he text Bree and let her know he wouldn't be able to sing on Saturday...?

...Maybe...

Right, there was someone sitting beside him, and they were having a sort-of-conversation! After placing his guitar down and stopping his insanely fast train of thoughts, he looked back at her, a half-genuine grin on his face still.

With a poke on the nose and a coy smile, this person was off to a bad start as far as not coming off as creepy. Yet, at the same time, Alice knew he could still be of use to her. Don't mind hack him...not yet, not yet, not yet Alice thought to herself as she tried to hold herself from just mind hacking this creepy predator. If he even as so much thought about getting with her so god help him he would pay! Indeed..Alice's mind swirled with all the things he could do to him. Destroying his mind was the least he had to worry about. No...if he was a pervert, Alice would torture him for an eternity by altering his mind to make him unable to make it siff. Yes, that would be a fitting punishment...castration via mind control. Oh how he would hate that..Alice thought to herself

However, right after poking her on the nose he claimed he was not after her...but could he be trusted? His following actions assured her that he meant what he said. No advances. No wandering of hands. No fondelng and no forcing himself uppon her. Just a friendly smile. Alice let out a sigh of relief after he finished his statement about him not being a pedophile and took a seat next to her. Of course, what made things even better was when he commented on her manga.

He likes manga? Heh...maybe he's not so boreing after all! I think he's the first otaku I've met at this school! Alice thought to herself as Calan asked her about the manga. "Yes it is Calan! It's actually a really awesome series....I assume you like manga too?" Alice asked, excitement evident in her tone. Unable to contain herself, she let out a squeal of enjoyment at finding another anime fan in the school, and immediately began to go into lightening-fast speech mode. "Your the first anime fan other then me I've found on this island! What mangas have you read!? I've read so many I can't even keep track of them all!" Alice exclaimed quickly, letting out a happy giggle.

Of course, she had not ignored his comment about a lack of money. She just chose not to bring it up, at least right now. Seems he's poor? I'll have to ask about that later...I could use that to my advantage. Alice thought to herself as she awaited Calan's response to her questions..
