Awww reading was hard! Daniel had been training his reading for some days now and it was slowly starting to get much better then before. He could read slowly now, but it was easier for him to read alone in his head, when he tried to read out loud he often said wrong at some words and made some things sound really off, but Selia had been very nice to him and corrected the boy without talking much about it after. Daniel had not been thinking much about his father and mother lately, he was more happy now then he had ever been before in years. It was all thanks to the fact that he came to this place, but one thing still was a large problem to him, he did not have any powers at all! Nothing, not even a little one. He did not dare tell that to anyone at all since he was afraid they might throw him out if they knew about it.

The last days Daniel had often gone to the roof in order to practice his loud reading since not so many came here at this time of the day because of the classes, and when they had break most of them did not come to this part of the school anyway. He had taken a blanket from the room he shared with Selia in the girls dorm and placed it on a nice spot. The little boy sat with his legs crossed under himself and a book in his knee, it was a book with Fairytales by the Grimm Brothers, Daniel loved that book much but he had not yet finished reading all of it since Selia began to teach him how to read.

He tried to hear the word inside of his head but failed to do so and sighed a little before he started over with the page again, he was reading slowly out loud from the book, but he had to stop a little now and then in the reading when he lost how to say the word. He was a little sad that he was not better then this....he was soon going to turn seven years old....many around his age could read already and he could not...but he was going to get better. In fact he did not really notice that there might be someone else in the garden that heard him practice the reading part.

Nine sauntered on down the halls of the academy, slipping past open doorways to the classrooms, not wanting to be caught out of class, but he didn't really have to be sneaky, since he was invisible, the only sound of his being there was the jingle of the odd necklaces strewn about his neck. He made his way towards the roof, shifting his walk to a skip basically, until he reached the stairway to the roof. Still invisible, he took ran up the steps. He reached the door, and was going to burst through it, until he heard a small voice talking, as if reading something.

Nine stealthily opened the door and slipped through, pausing briefly to look at the young boy there that was reading from a book that looked familiar to him. He snuck up on the boy slowly, turning off his invisibility the moment he was behind the boy.

"Rawr!" Nine yelled, intending to spook the boy for a laugh, even if the kid was pretty young, it was all fun and games for Nine.

Normaly a person would have screamed out when something like this happened, but that did not happen with Daniel, his body frooze and he began to breath faster as the beating of his heart quickly quickened majorly. He had dropped the book and it landed on the roof in front of him. He curlsed himself to a small ball and closed his eyes as his body was shaking, he was sure that someone was going to hurt him.

It was always like that. "Don´t hurt me...please" he said with a low voice Then he opened his eyes and looked up and noticed the stranger...he looked at him and it was easy to see that the boy was scared, not in a funny way scared...but scared, it was fear. "I have not done anything...." as he sat now it was hard to miss the many bandages he had all over his little boy. He took a few deep breathes and he tried to look as small as he possibly could, maybe this person would not hurt him then?

Nine looked at the boy, who had the strangest reaction to the small prank. Nine looked up and sighed with exasperation. He plopped himself down on he roof near the boy, pulling his legs up to his chest, wrapping an arm around his legs, while lifting the other hand to his head, adjusting the small crown/tiara he wore on his head.

"You call that a good reaction? My sister does better then that." He looked at the boy, who had said please to not hurt him. "I'm not going to hurt you, I had no such intention of doing so. And if you did anything wrong it was that terrible reaction to that joke." He grumbled.

"It was just a joke. You know, to get scared to near death and laugh about it later." Nine said.

Daniel watched the boy as he sat down next to him, he was not going to hurt him? The boy slowly returned from the curled position to normal sitting one with his legs crossed under himself. Her examined the stranger and the beating of his heart began to slow down slightly. He listened to the words the boy said, a joke? it was just a prank? Daniel did not say anything at first, he looked down on the floor for a moment and thought what he would say.

"I´m sorry then, I have never had anyone to joke with me before." he said with a slow voice and then he sighed a little and scratched himself on the back of the head for a moment. "It is just that it has always been that when something sudden happens it ends with me unable to sleep that night because of the pain in my back" he shook his head slowlt and then he took another deep breath and forced himself to smile. When he was sure he could smile he looked at the stranger again. "Nice to meet you anyway, my name is Daniel. What´s yours?"

"I´m sorry then, I have never had anyone to joke with me before."

Nine's eyes widened. "Really? How... boring..." He said, not really understanding how one has never ad a joke happen before to them, though the boy was young, maybe he just has boring parents, well, most parents were boring, Nine's were, they never played, and he loved playing. Maybe he annoyed them too much, maybe that's why they sent him here and never calls or send e-mails or anything, all they do is send money, not that he cared if his parents called or not.

He glanced at the boy when he mention something about not sleeping because pain in his back, it didn't sound like a fun conversation, so he didn't press or anything.

"Nice to meet you anyway, my name is Daniel. What´s yours?"

"Yeah, nice ta' meetcha'." He said, giving a slight grin. "People call me Nine." He said, leaning back and propping himself up with his hands.

"Really? How... boring..."

Daniel did not really know what he could say to this, sure it could be boring of course but he had never seen a reason to think like that since he had never experienced anything like it before. "Yeah, dad was never a kind of person to joke...not with me. If he did joke then I think he had a really weird way to see things as fun." he frowned a little and shivered slightly, then he forced the thoughts about his father out from the mind for now, it was nothing he wanted to talk about with Nine, he seemed like a nice person so Daniel would not want to turn something that could be fun into something sad and depressing.

"Yeah, nice ta' meetcha'." He said, giving a slight grin. "People call me Nine."[/color]

Daniel smiled a little brighter att he boy and nodded. "It is very nice to meet you Nine" he said and then he scratched himself thought the messy brown hair. He examined the other older boy for a moment as he thought about something he could say, some people might think it weird that Nine was dressed in that rather weird way, but Daniel was not such a boy. He rarely thought that people was weird from how they dressed. The name was nothing either as he had meet that girl named Doll so that this boy was called Nine was far from a surprise to him and he did not react to that either. "So your a student on the school Nine?" he asked with a curious smile.

"Neither was my dad. He was a very boring person. Maybe no one ever joked with me was because I could always out do them." He said, looking up as if in thought. He started tapping his fingers on his knee in a fast pattern, and seeming to hum a song that had been in his head all day.

"So your a student on the school Nine?"

Nine gave a brief nod. "Yeah. I have powers, so here I am, like everyone else whose been shunned on the world." He said, but to him he powers weren't a curse, he actually didn't know what to think about them, he just knew that turning invisible was fun.

Daniel nodded slowly at the first words the boy said. "I see, well I guess I would have been happy if I had had a boring dad" the little boy said with a thoughtful voice and calmly brushed some dust of the blanket he was sitting on. "My dad was just....extremely scary." he shiwered again as he said this and then he sighed as he watched Nine when he tapped his finger and seemed to hum a song of some kind, Daniel watched him as he did not.

Daniel thought about the words Nine said that he had powers and that, yeah all people here had powers, but not Daniel of course. Here on this island he was a no one, but as long as no one knew the truth it was not going to be a problem at all. He wanted to ask what power Nine had but he was afraid that if he asked the boy would ask in return....what would Daniel reply to such a question? He could not tell the truth after all. Not even Selia had been told yet that Daniel did not have any powers, but then again she might have guessed something like that already.

Nine looked at the boy when he said he would have been happy if he had a boring dad, at that he scoffed, mainly to himself, until Daniel said his father had just been scary. Poor kid seemed scarred, but Nine didn't even want to think about it, just letting his thoughts think about if for a second send a shiver up his spine. He looked away from Daniel, seeming to stare off into space as the boredom started to nag him, it felt like it was going to drive him crazy.

Suddenly, Nine jumpy nimbly to his feet, the only sound of his movement was the jingle of the many necklaces.

"Come on. I'm getting really bored, and if there's one thing I can't stand, its being bored." He said, as then a wide, grin split over his face. "I think we should play... hm... got any favorite game you like? Or something that isn't boring." Nine's favorite game had to be hide-in-seek if anything, mainly because he was the best hider ever, as he put it.
