Kofi paced back and forth in front of the entrance several times. Yeah it looked odd for someone to just be doing that but Kofi held a phone close to his ear. To passerbyers and pretty much everyone else it looked like he was just having a simple conversation on the phone. Or well, a very festive Elf having a conversation on the phone. It was two days after Christmas and yet Kofi was dressed as one of Santa’s many elven helpers. He had the green tights, pointy elf ears, and even the shoes with the bells on the end. He looked like a grown ass elf, just like how Will Ferral did in Elf.

“Oh yes! The red always looks nice on you! You should get the red ones!”
He simply blurted it out like he was responding to someone on the phone.

He moved a bit away from the entrance of the apartment building. It was almost time. Kofi didn’t just stalk the building itself, he stalked everyone coming in and out of it. By now he had learned a good deal of the residents schedules and the usual time for when someone would leave and come back. After some time had passed, Kofi put his phone away and entered the building, friendly face and all. He stayed on the first floor near the elevators as he pulled out a nicely wrapped christmas package. It was a few days late but surely people still accepted christmas presents right?

Kofi approached one of the elevators repeatedly pressing the button for it to come. Once it did open, Kofi skipped into it with his package in hand.

Now it wasn’t super hard for him to get into the penthouse, he had a Key!.....well a copy of a key. He’s a pirate, getting a copy of Jafar’s key was child’s play.

Anyway he was in the presumably empty penthouse as he looked for a good place to leave his gift. Which was hard to do since it was his first time here but that wasn’t going to stop him one bit.

There was a major flaw with Kofi's plan, and it wasn't one he could have accounted for: Chloe's schedule was different today. It had become irregular outside of the school year. Today, she was hanging out at home.

Kofi had only been in the penthouse for a couple of minutes when Chloe decided to come downstairs. She was on her way to the kitchen for a warm drink. Her steps were quiet; technically, she tip-toed everywhere she went. She heard him before he had the chance to notice her.

Chloe wasn't expecting anyone else to be home. Peeking around the corner, she spotted a prax man she didn't immediately recognize. She rested her hand on one of her arm tattoos and stepped halfway out into the open. "Uh, hi." She gave him a suspicious glare. "Who are you?"

Kofi Jumped!

Someone was here? But….he had everyone’s schedule down pact! He spent weeks on learning it! Each and every individual person in this household should be gone but yet….

Kofi fumbled with his present a bit so he won’t drop it. Once he successfully had secure, he held a hand to his heart. Kofi took a minute to catch his breath and then he quickly spun around to see the perpetrator he was making his work even harder.

Huh, well….It wasn’t Malara so lucky him right? Kofi just awkwardly hid the present behind his back and then stared at Chloe.

“GEE GOLLY, I could have had an heart attack! Do E-arthlings always sneak up on people like this?!”

He gave Chloe a puzzled stare as he was still trying to figure out why she was here….and who else could be here.

“I am Kofi! Who are you and why are you here!?”

As if he didn’t already know the answer to that.

"Well... I live here."

E-arthlings? Though he was trespassing, this 'Kofi' must not have been here on the planet very long. He might not know the customs of the planet very well. Maybe she could take advantage of that. She had caught a glimpse of the box earlier, so at least she knew he wasn't holding a weapon behind his back.

"My name is Chloe." She took a few steps towards him, extending her hand. "In a lot of Earth cultures, it's customary for people to grasp each other's hands when they meet each other for the first time." She started taking on some inflections of a space demon she'd met through the DSU, pieces of a strange accent, trying to come off as a naive alien herself. If their hands touched, she would start to drain his strength. He would feel a little euphoric.

"Welcome to my home, Kofi." She would be looking up at him full of simulated awe, gently shaking his hand with both of hers, not letting go until he pulled away. Her plan now, as much as she had one, was to act weird and touchy-feely until she was much stronger than him and could easily keep him under control. "You are Prax, right? Is there anything I can help you with?"

“Ah you live here then?! Right that would make sense! I thought you were another secret undercover santa helper for a second!”

Right. Totally made sense.

Kofi smiled at Chloe and simply took a few steps forward. He was on Earth long enough to know what a handshake is so he wasn’t super oblivious to what she was talking about.
“Ah! Greetings Chloe of E-arth!”

At first he didn’t want to remove his hands from the present. Kofi then thought it would be rude not to shake her hand so he moved the present from behind his back and placed it under his arm as he used his free hand to shake Chloe’s hand. It was a very energetic handshake, the most enthusiastic of all. He also made sure the present was perfectly secured in his arm.

He still kept...shaking her hand. Just weird awkward long handshake.

“Shhh! I am supposed to be one of Santa’s elves! ….but Yes! I am Prax! How’d you know that?”

Kofi tilted his head and looked at Chloe with a lot of confusement and then he frowned.

“...I-...I am not elf enough? My costume no good?”

Kofi then pouted a bit and shook his head, disliking the idea of his elf costume not being good.
“I am not in need of any ass- ah-...ah-stand?” Welp, guess he couldn’t pronounce assistance still.

“HELP! I do not need help!”

Chloe was still draining his strength. She didn't buy this 'Santa's elf' story for a second - but the fact that he thought it could work was interesting. She wondered where he got the idea to break in like this.

"I know a couple of Prax," Chloe would say, "That's how I knew. But I didn't know Santa would hire aliens. Your costume's not too bad, anyway."

He would stammer out that he didn't need help. "Well, can you tell me what the box is for?"

Very shortly after Kofi finished answering that last question, Chloe would be introducing his face to the floor. Now she would be in a better position to demand answers. She wasn't happy about the fact that someone had broken into her home.

“You know some of my people?! Who and how many?” Kofi seemed excited about that.

“I wasn’t hired! I volume-teared!!”
And his accent strikes again.

He giggled at the thought. From what he knew of Santa was that the elves were like his servants or something and they made gifts because it was fun. He didn’t think it was like their daily job since christmas only happens once a year.

Kofi didn’t like that she was getting nosy about the box now. He also didn’t like how he missed that there was still someone here. Fucked. The plan was fucked and now he was just….winging it.

“The box is….something special for a special someone who is not you.” He said flatly.

But apparently, Chloe of E-arth didn’t like that answer? Oh no! He didn’t think she’d get so violent! He wanted to not hit his face on the floor but he wanted to keep the present safe…..and he was also feeling off. Kofi couldn’t help and be face planted which caused him to wince and whine. He still kept the box safe though, it had to be safe.

“OW! I HAVE BEEN HAD! We are not friends Chloe of E-arth?”

Is what he was trying to say with his face all shoved on the floor. Kinda hard to speak like that. Kofi didn’t make an attempt to get up. He actually couldn’t get up anyway, his body was feeling strange? Poison? No. . . She didn’t somehow poison him did she?

“What have you done to me! I feel….bleh!”

Kofi would simply squirm around on the floor until he was let up.

She had him pinned to the floor, now, face down. She was sitting atop him, keeping his hands where she could see them.

She took a deep breath to calm herself, to manage her adrenaline rush. She'd just taken down an intruder, like some kind of badass. This was badass. It was also terrifying, though.

"You broke into my home," Chloe told him flatly. "And I'm pretty sure you're lying about why you're here. So you aren't making a very good first impression if you wanted to be my friend." She was speaking normally now, no longer mimicking her extraterrestrial friend in the DSU. She wasn't even sure why she had been doing that in retrospect.

"All I'm doing is feeding off your strength. You'll be fine. Do you want to tell me why you're really here, or do you want me to call the police?"

She was draining his strength? Crap. That’s a thing. Kofi wasn’t keen on everyone’s powers with the exception of Jafar. Well this wasn’t that bad. It could be worse….as in Malara.

Kofi made an attempt to get from under Chloe but as expected, he had no strength. He couldn’t fight back or do anything like this! She was cheating! She is a cheater and a faker!

….Well Kofi can’t be one to judge.

“I TOLD YOU NOTHING BUT TRUTH!.....Well mostly. I am sadly not one of Santa’s helpers but I am delivering a gift.”

Hopefully the gift was fine. Well it should be fine, Kofi made sure it was secure. It would be very bad if it wasn’t fine.

“A very important gift that is not meant for you, you meanie e-arthling.”

Kofi attempted once more to get Chloe off of him but yeah, that was not happening anytime soon. He also doubt he could reach for the present and pull it closer to him. This was…..very annoying. All he had to do was drop it off but now he has to deal with this.

“The present is of great im..por….tance. IMPORTANCE! You are ruining my surprise!”

A gift. Chloe looked at the box, wondering if it was a bomb, or anthrax, or some kind of magical equivalent. She used to daydream about sending cursed items to her enemies. Something like that would be a nasty surprise.

Chloe muttered a few words, her speech incomprehensible. Water poured from the lines of her tattoo, sticking to her arm, defying gravity. She held her arm out to the side and the water shot forth. As it hit the ground it transformed into a blonde woman who knelt before them with head bowed. "Nona," Chloe said, "Keep an eye out, he might not be alone."

Nona took a moment to acknowledge the man Chloe had pinned under her, then she stood, ready. "Understood, ma'am."

Chloe returned her attention to Kofi. "If you're telling the truth, then you're going to have to forgive me. What I know is, you've broken into my home, it hasn't been very long since the last time I received death threats, and Malara probably has more enemies than she could count. So..." She gave him a shrug, almost apologetic. Not that she believed he actually deserved an apology. "In any case, can you tell me who the present is for? I can keep a secret."
