He chuckled a little and very gently bumped his head against hers, "thank you, to be honest I don't know what would have happened to me if I hadn't met you." Smiling, he hugged her once more before releasing her, "thank you, for worrying, for being my friend, it all has meant a lot to me." He'd meant it when he said family, "we've watched out for each other since we met, it's already been over a year, and I definitely want it to continue."

"Things seem to have moved so fast," he sighed a little, "seemed just yesterday I was arriving, fresh off the streets and you were all hostile gonna blow my head off." Chuckling again, he poked her ribs, "so much has happened since then, I look in the mirror and I wonder if I'm even the same guy."

"Yet, you've been that one constant," he smiled, "always there, even when things fall apart." He'd be forever grateful for their friendship, "you, Klef, Anna, you guys saved me, I...I don't what would have happened to me without you guys."

Nyota tensed for a moment but relaxes as James gave her a hug. It was... welcomed to hear that he did admit, as stupid as it sounds, he appreciated that she worried over him. They were both close to each after though... somehow it still felt like a defeat for her to have to begrudgingly allow Jame's and Anna's relationship play out.

"Hrmpphh... maybe I should have? Save us both the trouble?" joked Nyota dryly to her friend before letting out small snort "But nah... I guess I like having you around if only to have someone to banter with and watch old sci-fi shows without being ridiculed."

Nyota just stated at James after he made the comment about him being the same guy and... she couldn't help but let out a laugh "Ha ha haa ha! Well of course you have you dork! I mean have you not seen your Vulcan ears as of late?" teased Nyota as she reached out and pinched on the end of his elfven ears like what one would do to cute puppy. "Course I get what you mean... I think we both changed change... mean... I don't go around punching as many people as used to. Like... I dunno. Maybe I am just tired of being angry all the time... you know?"

Nyota then sighed, not sure how she felt being lumped with Anna but... whatever. She just shrugged and stood up off the bed, looking down to James with a sympathetic look.

"Well... been with each other for this long. Might as well see it the whole way through right? Anyway... good pep talk I guess... so... I am just going to watch more Bob Ross videos or some shit."
