KirMir followed the women over to the stand selling the Elotes. It turned out that it was just corn... with some sort of topping on it. The corn itself probably wasn't overly exciting unless it was a weird special variety but the topping likely would make it taste interesting.

"Thank you," Mir said to Zora as they took both of the skewers for KirMir, "Though we can share between our two bodies if the purpose is just to taste the foods." Then without anything further they held one of the skewers horizontally and tool a large bite of the corn and topping.

While Mir was chewing Kir continued paying attention to the women and soon remarked, "They are spicy but not to the point of being uncomfortable and the lime is delicious." After a minute or so Mir handed the other skewer to Kir and they continued eating. It seemed like they had waited for something to happen before allowing the other body to also eat the food.

KirMir considered all the things they could have asked the women about and finally came to a decision about what they should ask first. Mir stopped eating to voice their query. "How does making friendships usually work? We are experiencing difficulty in forming those types of social bonds. Do they always require a sacrifice such as you purchasing those corn cobs for us?" It was likely a very unexpected question but KirMir had been realizing that without friends they were going to become isolated. Back where they came from that was the best way to protect themselves from emotional trauma but here it seemed they would have to change that way of thinking.

Zora looked at Natasha and Natasha looked at Zora when KirMir tried the corn, one eating while the other talked about how it tasted. Neither woman had ever experienced anything like it and were quite amazed and a bit dumbfounded by it. But not wanting to be rude either, both women smiled and pretended that it was a normal everyday occurrence.

"Yes, you're right, actually, the lime does give it a nice tang..." Zora agreed as she took a bite of her corn.

Natasha was just about to take another bite when she heard the question and comment about having to buy things to make friends, chuckling at this she shook her head. "You'd don't need to buy things to make friends, it's a nice thing to do for your friends - or people in general, but it's not required," Natasha said as she looked at the two.

"No, definitely not. Some people take advantage of you if you buy them stuff all the time," Zora added, "They are your friends because you buy them things and that's not real friendship."

Natasha nodded at this, "Making friends is not too hard. You just need to be genuinely interested in that person and make an effort to get to know them. Spend time together or go out and have coffee, things like that."

"And sometimes, it does take time... other times, well, people just like each other immediately and a friendship happens instantly." Zora added with a smile, looking at Kir and then Mir, "It happened with Nat and I... we liked each other from the minute we met." she said glancing at Natasha who nodded and smiled.

"Yeah, we did... funny how that happens." Nat remarked with a chuckle.

KirMir continued eating the Elotes, apparently alternating which body was eating so that one of them was always available to speak. After starting to make a little bit of a mess Mir walked over to grab napkins for all of them to share. Surprisingly enough each time some of the topping was dripping off KirMir were able to react very quickly to keep from getting it on their clothes.

Kir was the first one available to reply to Natasha and Zora and they looked over at the chuckling. At first they thought maybe they had missed a joke but it didn't seem like there had been one. "We have purchased items for people but we believe they would still be our friends either way. Seven for example we believe would still be our friend even if we had not offered to buy him supplies for his projects. However he is a child so it is slightly different" Actually the boy had been an example of that instant friendship feeling, at least as far as KirMir was concerned. They had instantly taken a liking to him.

As Kir went back to eating Mir wiped their mouth and spoke up as they looked around, "It is challenging to get to know people well since we tend to come across as unfriendly quite frequently. Additionally we are apparently reminiscent of the "creepy twins" trope in media. We researched it after not understanding several references others have made." They were not necessarily complaining or being emotional about it. They were just delivering facts from their analysis of their previous interactions.

Although they were focused on the conversation about friendship KirMir was uniquely equipped to focus on more than one thing at once and aside from keeping an eye out for dangers they were also considering what they wanted to try next. They thought about it and then decided on what they would be interested in consuming next. "We should locate some form of beverage before eating any additional food," Kir stated, "dehydration would be very unfortunate." It likely came across as an abrupt change in topics but that was how KirMir thought. They were never just thinking about one thing at a time.
