City Hall was decorated in a summer motif for the occasion. Large tables were set up around the hall with heavy, wooden seating and tables laid out against the walls with a variety of foods all categorized for easy finding. The names of contributing local businesses hang up on the wall with some information on their storefront.

The Hall is warm and inviting. People sit in loose groups as they eat, talk, and laugh.

No posting order. Rapid fire encouraged. The setting is City Hall, 5 pm. Everyone is invited to come and join in the festivities.

"So this is Founder's Day?" Zoraida said, taking in the summery decorations, as she walked into the city hall with Natasha. Both women were wearing short colourful summer dresses with beaded sandals on their feet.

"Ohh, it smells great in here... it's like like popcorn and mini-donuts mixed with cotton candy!" Natasha exclaimed as soon as they entered the area with food stalls. The delicious odour of sweet and savoury fried fair foods all around them.

"Look, they are selling funnel cakes over there, and I think crepes too...!" Zora said excitedly as she spotted stalls serving some of her favourite foods.

Two people that could have been twins, one male and one female, stepped inside the hall as one and surveyed the room. The smell of food drew their attention, though they did not seem overly excited on the outside. As they walked through the room the female body paid attention to the left side while the male body explored the right side. They had little reason to discuss what they were seeing between them for in actuality they were KirMir. One entity that had two physically separate, but linked in every other sense, bodies. They were not walking exactly synchronized as they maneuvered through the area but they never let themselves get more than 5 feet apart. Well within their comfort range.

They were both wearing matching black framed glasses, dress shirts with ties and black jackets, though the female was wearing a skirt rather than pants. As the male stopped to retie a shoelace that had become loose, they overheard two women very close by who seemed to be very excited about the fried foods. The female body spoke up to the women, "Hello. You said you see funnel cakes. Could you point us in that direction? The ones we had at the festival were quite delicious." Her voice was calm and polite, though deep down KirMir was constantly watching for risks and threats. An unfortunate side-effect of their past.

Zora stopped chatting with Natasha, when she heard a person, a young woman actually, dressed quite smartly in a shirt and black shirt, ask her about the funnel cakes. "They are just over there, next to the booth that's selling cotton candy," she said with a friendly smile.

"You say they sell them every year?" Natasha spoke up, having also heard the woman's question, "Do you know if they serve them with whipping cream and strawberry jam too? Or are they just with powdered sugar?"

KirMir didn't even feel the slightest bit bad about interrupting the other people to ask their question. Really they were not very adept with social niceties and instead had evaluated the women as unlikely to be threats. Their colorful, relaxed attire, footwear not suited for combat, and generally pleasant attitudes were the main factors in that decision.

The female body turned to look in the direction indicated by Zora and squinted through their glasses. Sure enough, they were able to spot the vendor right next to the more colorful sign advertising the cotton candy. "We see them now. You were very helpful." As they turned back they had a small but very evident smile on their face.

Meanwhile the male body had finished tying their shoes and stood up. They turned to face Natasha and spoke up as well. "We do not believe we said that, since we were not on the planet this time last year. We did reference a similar vendor we encountered at the Lilac Festival though. It would make sense that they do sell them frequently." They were not being unfriendly, just matter-of-fact. Both bodies had identical patterns of speech but they sounded masculine or feminine respectively. The male body was also showing a small smile.

Without even turning to look at the other body or at Natasha the female body chimed in again. "We believe those options were available at the festival so most likely they are here as well. Perhaps we should all head over to see?" They gestured towards the vendor and both bodies began slowly walking that way.

"Oh, my misunderstanding then," Natasha replied hesitantly, somewhat taken aback by the man's reply. "I thought that you had been to Founder's Day before or, well, that you, ah, possibly knew of the vendors themselves," she explained quietly, feeling somewhat stupid for thinking that, now that they had very bluntly explained otherwise.

"That's... well, thank you," Zoraida replied now very coolly, feeling somewhat defensive of Natasha and not liking how the man had answered her. And so Zora turned slightly, and gave him the cold shoulder, ignoring him altogether, as she turned her attention to the woman, who seemed rather more reasonable. "Come, Natasha, love..." she said softly as she slipped her arm protectively through the crook of her arm and squeezed her arm reassuringly. "Let's go and check out the funnel cakes too."

"They smell quite delicious," Zora said to the woman as they neared the funnel cake stand.

"So, are you and your, ah, girlfriend from around here?" Natasha asked as she eyed the man curiously, sensing Zora's obvious displeasure. but also sensed that he hadn't meant to be unkind, it was just how it came out like that.

Kirmir didn't have to be experts at social interaction to realize they had apparently offended the women. It happened fairly often though and they were used to people being weirded out by their manner of speaking sometimes. They didn't like when they made people upset, they just weren't great at avoiding it.

The body language and the way Zoraida was ignoring KirMir's male body was noted and they shifted a little bit so that of the two of them the female was more towards Zora. As they approached the funnel cakes the male body, Kir, remained focused on the food while the female body, Mir, was focused on the women talking to them. "They do smell very good. Perhaps we will try two different topping choices though."

KirMir usually would have just kept responding with the one body and used the other to order their food but they had already made these women uncomfortable and it was probably best not to cause too much trouble if they wished to remain at the banquet. Therefore Kir turned to Natasha again. "We are not in a romantic relationship. We are actually a single entity with two bodies. But to answer your question we are not from this planet." If they noticed Natasha eyeing them they did not show it or seem offended by it. In fact even as they were talking Kir had approached the vendor and placed an order for two funnel cakes. One with the regular powdered sugar and the other with diced baked apple chunks and cinnamon sugar.

"Oh, my... that's, well, incredible." Natasha said, eyes wide in surprise, as she unconsciously let go of Zoraida's arm and turned to look at the man in front of her. This was one of those beings her friend, Tengu, had mentioned. One of the ones who came from some place beyond Earth. Natasha tried not to stare now, fascinated by the person before her now.

"Zori..." she said reaching back and behind her and wanting to grab her friend by the arm, grabbing a handful of fabric instead, and pulling her up beside her.

"Wh-what...?" Zoraida said questioningly, two funnel cakes with toppings in hand as she turned around, trying not to drop them, wondering whether the strange man was bothering her friend again.

"They're not from here." Natasha said as she gestured to the woman and nodded at the man.

"What do you mean, not from here?" Zora asked with a frown, not understanding what Natasha meant.

"They aren't from earth. And, "here Nat smiled, "They share two bodies. It's the same person in both bodies." she said patiently, hoping Zoraida clued in.

Blinking, Zora looked at the man, and then back to the woman in awe. "Oh... my..." Zoraida also said, now embarrassed at her rudeness. She had assumed he was some obnoxious creep, and it turned out, he was just somewhat unfamiliar with everyday social customs.

"I'm so sorry, I was rude.... Funnel cake?" she said suddenly, thrusting out her hands offering them cake, not sure what else to do.

It wasn't the first time that someone was surprised to find out that KirMir was part of an alien species. It certainly wouldn't be the last either. They did not mind being stared at and didn't even react to it.

As the very excited Natasha attempted to grab both Zora's arm and attention Kir had remained by the vendor to collect their order and didn't seem to be paying a lot of attention to the others. Mir on the other hand was almost completely focused on Zora and Natasha, except for occasionally glancing around at everything else nearby. To help make things a little clearer, or at least that was their intention, both bodies spoke up in unison, "We are KirMir. Nice to meet you both." A lot of people found that type of talking creepy and it was reminiscent of creepy twins from a horror movie talking but it was a good way of indicating that they were a single entity.

After seeing that the others were interested in them and seemed to want to be friendly Mir showed the same small smile from before as they addressed the women. "We were going to take our food over there to sit down and eat. You could join us if you wish," they added as they pointed out an empty portion of the seating area.

Kir was about to grab their completed order when their attention was drawn away to Zora's sudden apology and attempt to offer her food to them. Before Zora had even finished her question Kir's hands had gone up, lightning quick, to keep her from thrusting the cake any further at them. "No, it is ok. We have our own food right here," they said as they gestured over their shoulder at their own funnel cakes waiting to be picked up. With that they then turned and picked up the two plates of food and both bodies prepared to head over to the seating area. They were planning to wait to walk with the others though. That probably was something a polite person would do right?

Zoraida and Natasha just looked at each other in silent awe, not quite knowing what to say when both entities suddenly spoke in unison, introducing themselves as KirMir? It was something neither woman had ever seen before, and it left them a bit flabbergasted and tongue-tied - which was quite unusual since both women were known for their ability to talk up a storm and nothing ever rarely left them speechless for long - until now.

Glancing at each other again, watching the two "KirMir" walk over to get their own funnel cakes from the vendor, after very bluntly refusing Zora's funnel cake offering. Looking down at her cakes, Zora shook her head, and started chuckling. The two were certainly different to anything she had ever encountered.

"Come Nat..." Zoraida said after a moment, "Let's join them."

"Yes," Nat agreed still in quiet shock, nodding... "Let's go get a table over there first,... Maybe wave them over?" Natasha said as they slowly walked over to a long table with chairs just a few feet away, where other people were also sitting eating their funnel cakes, hamburgers, ice cream and other yummy fair treats.

"KirMir... over here." Zora said, after placing the cakes on the table. and gestured to them that they should join them at the table.
