Aedan wasn't one to get involved with elections, it wasn't something he was interested in. That said, Havoc's slogan of protection and safety made a lot of sense to him. There had been a disturbing number of serial killers in past year, so in Aedan's mind student safety came first.

So here he was, approaching a man he didn't know, to talk about his slogan, if Havoc could put his money where his mouth was.

So as he approached him, he kept a neutral look on his face and offered his hand, "I'm Aedan Drago, I was hoping to talk to you about your campaign."

Havoc didn't know who Aedan was. He was simply a stranger, someone who he guessed was a highschooler, although the possibility existed that he was more of a college student. The uniform, though - that tended to lean one way and not another.

Thankfully, Havoc had been coached in civilian greetings and wasted no time in taking Aedan's hand, giving it a nice firm shake. It was so precise and basic it probably came out of a handbook for such things, and it was delivered with a perfectly-average-if-a-bit-stiff smile.

"James Havoc," Havoc replied. "I'd love to talk about my campaign."

That was an exaggeration, to say the least. Havoc didn't love anything, but he was at least interested in talking about it with someone. "Are you also running in the elections?"

"Oh no," he said with a small chuckle, "those speeches aren't for me," Aedan didn't view himself as a leader, he could be though, one day when all the damage he had healed.

"I just wanted to talk," Havoc seemed hard to read, a quality they both seemed to share. "Security seems really important," he cleared his throat, "especially given the events of this last year." Aedan was naturally wired to protect people, "I think we need to make sure the students are safe."

Havoc wasn't just hard to read--Havoc was almost impossible to read. It was like trying to read a stone, searching for text that might have been carved at one point only to discover that there was nothing there in the first place.

"Security is important," Havoc agreed. "Did you have further suggestions, beyond what I already recommended?"

He probably should have asked why are you interested in security, only Havoc was of the opinion that literally everyone should be interested in security. There was no reason to ask because it was the default state, and the only thing he'd ever think to ask is 'why don't you care about being able to defend yourself?'

"Are you thinking of any events in particular?"

"No, you've covered everything well," it was true, his posters and speeches covered it very well, which impressed Aedan.

He considered his next words, "I'm not going to lie Havoc, you're a hard man to read," he felt like being straight to the point would be best with him. "I came to talk to you one on one, speeches and posters are fine, but this is how'd I'd prefer to pick a candidate."

Havoc didn't do humor, or else he might have laughed. He found the comment vaguely amusing, but not quite funny. He did smile however, a genuine little grin that meant nothing to anyone but himself. It didn't last long though, falling back into his slightly stiffer smile.

"You cannot read what isn't there," Havoc pointed out. "But I'm perfectly willing to discuss whatever you'd like to about my campaign. Not many students are willing to actively participate in the election process."

Unless you counted going to parties run by candidates to be participation, which Havoc absolutely did not. He only very, very rarely disliked things, but even so he felt the tiniest sliver of annoyance at the thought of it.

It was just so unprofessional.

"Yes, I noticed not many were helping," like he said, running wasn't really his thing, but helping a candidate he supported seemed like a good ideas.

"I was hoping we could discuss the improved security measures you'd implement," he wanted to make sure the students were safe, especially his friends.

"And I can help put up a few posters," he said with a calm smile, "help spread the word as they say."

Havoc had given very little thought to the security measures in place. The biggest issue was that, as a student, he wasn't privy to the details of how the security was run.

"Assuming I'm able, I plan to investigate the school's current security set up and suggest improvements. That sort of thing is something I'm familiar with from my job, and while I'm certainly not the most qualified person on the island for it, I think an experienced perspective from a students vantage point could be helpful."

Too often teachers might overlook things that students took for granted, and shoring up those holes was where he could come in.

"Since students don't have access to the complete security information, I plan to focus my campaign instead on encouraging students to learn self defense, as well as ensuring they have the resources to learn if they'd like."

"As a student you might see or notice security issues that might otherwise be overlooked," it was an interesting idea, one Sedan believed.

He nodded, "self defense is good," they had so many teachers capable of teaching such classes.

"We have beings here that have hundreds of years worth of combat experience.......wouldn't be hard to get more classes started," he knew Professor Mortii already had such classes.

"That would be the idea, yes," Havoc clarified. He had a unique perspective, and while he didn't believe that he was the only one with the perspective, he was absolutely the only one running. He knew that much. Even if he hadn't thoroughly investigated his other candidates, he knew none of them were military.

"That was the idea. Some might be interested, but not have the time to travel into town. Some might be interested, but not have the money to pay for the lessons. I want it to be more accessible, so that all students will have a chance to attend."

Ironically, he wouldn't be attending them himself. He was already well past the point that would be taught in standard self defense, but then he wasn't the target of his own campaign.
