Eein wasn't in a great place, in truth they haven't been in a good place for a while. Just now, laying in a hospital bed, hooked up to pain meds, his bottom half covered to hide the awful chemical burns. His healing factor hadn't full recovered, at least not yet.

He hadn't had any visitors yet, besides Huliu of course, so he was mildly surprised when Fwieu popped up. "Sup?" he'd say as the older dragon entered. He was expecting more mocking, like how he'd gotten from Liun and Daemor. @Kait

Fweiu came bearing a sack of gifts. It was Eein's birthday while she was gone, and she couldn't return when she planned thanks to that whole 'long night' thing.

She didn't realize how badly Eein had been injured. She paused for a second on the way in, looking at him before she sat down.

"Hello Eein. Liun and Daenmor told me what happened. How's the pain today? Are they giving you the good drugs here?" Her tone was completely serious.

He raised an eyebrow at the bag she carried, his nose as it tried to smell whatever it held. "Yeah, I can still sorta feel it," he'd shrug, "it's kinda an itch, they say my healing reacted weirdly by it all, so it's not really back yet." He wasn't used to having to just sit still, not being able to just run around when he wanted.

"Anyways, it's good to have you back," he'd say, genuinely meaning it, "everyone kinda panicked a bit when communication was cut." Between that and the dimensional migration he guessed she was pretty stressed.

"You ok?" he'd ask, sitting up some, "you had a lot on your plate already."

Fweiu nodded along as Eein explained the state he was in. It was consistent with what the doctor had told her.

He changed the subject pretty fast though, asking about her wellbeing. She almost laughed. "I'm supposed to be asking you that! But, fine, I'll humor you. The island disappearing was a big scare for us as well, of course. But aside from that, I just had the usual problems getting people to agree on a plan. I kept having to explain that we aren't 'surrendering to the humans' just because we're starting a colony in the Drakenhardts' dimension. And I had to kick a few asses after we all realized the island disappeared, but that was nothing I couldn't handle."

"I can't explain to you the relief I felt when the island reappeared. Burying Akt'Anir is a painful thing. Especially when they're young." She made eye contact with Eein, and cast a meaningful glance at his legs.

"So. What were you doing out there by yourself?"

"Its not about humoring me," he'd say, looking at her, "its about me wanting to make sure the dragons are ok.....something more important than me."

The younger dragon would listen as she explained the situation with the community, it all had him worried. "The veil was mistake," he'd say with a sigh, "our predecessors having us hide was just....such a fucking idiot thing to do." He'd pinch the bridge of his nose, "at least the island won't be affected by any of that anti magic stuff now."

He'd adjust his position, flinching a bit as he did. "Good thing we had that dragon realm to fall back on at least....kinda wished I'd gotten to spend more time in the community first though," he still felt a lot of mixed emotions about it all.

"Doesn't matter," he'd say with a sigh when she asked him about the incident. "I'm alive....well...mostly anyways," his lower half needed healing, but they would in time.

He said his question was more about the community, which was bigger than him. Fweiu smiled at that sentiment.

"It seemed like a necessity at the time," Fweiu said. But she wasn't going to go into that anymore with him.

No, next she was going to ask him why he was out there, before he could really get another word in edgewise. This visit was really about him, after all. And his answer to that question wasn't exactly satisfactory. It didn't matter? "You went out there by yourself and risked your life over something that doesn't matter." Fweiu gave him a look.

"There are lessons to be learned here. Can you tell me what they are?"

"Well...it doesn't matter now," he'd shrug, "it's done and I'm here now." It is wh at it is, "maybe it was a mistake for me to have been out there, can't do anything about it now." He'd sigh, leaning back against his pillow, closing his eyes for moment.

"To not touch strange flowers?" he'd ask with a snort, he supposed that was one of the lessons. "Look, there was a rumor that there was something in the forest, something maybe connected to all the madness that was happening."

He'd shrug. "So I went looking I couldn't just sit still," ironic considering he was now forced to sit still while he healed.
