
Val chuckled happily at her father's protest, but she huffed, trying and failing to look stern. "Come oooon," she said, trying to maneuver the spoon around his hand. "You might be, but I'm not letting go of the spoon or letting you out of the bed if you don't eat."
There was just something indescribable in this moment. They were making up for lost time, and that moment right there felt like something she had been missing for so long. Something she didn't even knew she needed nor wanted. It got her wondering if her parents ever did something like this when they were still together.
