"Well that's kind of boring."
Aternity at this point was looking for just about any excuse to use some sort of experimental technology on Ry'leh, since while he had developed plenty of new and interesting tools and procedures of fixing or building things...well, he simply hadn't had a use for them. Now in a unique situation, he did. And he was being turned down! The nerve. Oh well, just keep pressing on. He was still inside an alien ship. A living one at that.
On the note of his wife...well, huh. He actually had to stop to think.
"You know, I'm not actually too sure on that. Sometimes she's in an experimental mood, but I have a hard time predicting from day to day. I'm sure if you ask nicely she would oblige. Although I'm not so sure she'd be too happy with anyone making attempts to reproduce her ability. Or anyone else for that matter."
Aternity tapped his chin, stuck in a screwdriver to just poke around for a minute, and kept answering questions.
"Well, I guess that's alright. No real harm done-- good lord, what is all this stuff? I can't even tell if all this is broken or not. Probably not. Sorry if I sound a little...dull on the engineering side. Alien physiology...engineering isn't my strong suit yet. Well whatever, I'll get to it."
Ternie closed the panel and started walking about, looking at various cracks in the walls, uprooted floor panels and whatever else had been flung about. Cytus was once again cleaning certain areas of the room, hoping to make it easier to walk around when she would return again.
"We may have to automate those functions. I can't speak for Cytus, and as much as I would love exploring the stars and all, I'm not sure I should be gone for more than four hours at a time or so. As far as human detection systems go, your size and movement make you a prime view for just about any telescope down here. We'll take care of that later. I'm going to poke a few buttons on this console now, if I press something dumb, just tell me."
And sure enough, he went at it, one at a time until he got the function of each.
"And as for what my wife would think of your...aesthetically pleasing body, I think she would be disappointed if I didn't share."
Ha. Ha ha. He wasn't even kidding.
