“This is unheard of! I thought this place was safe… safer than safe!” Francis cried out and was creating a massive scene between him and the nurse who was spending all her time trying to calm him down. But it seemed that she couldn’t get a word in.
<p>
Across the room sat Guy on the bed facing the doorway. His expression was void as he remained still and waited for the nurse to assist his arm. The pain was mild for him, but the damage was much more severe then anyone knew. From the outside his long dark gray dress shirt appeared to be burnt in some places, but hadn’t completely set on fire.
<p>
The student he had angered had some kind of ability that involved fire, but that was the most anyone knew. The boy who had hurt him had been sent to the office and he had been taken here. But it had taken them some time to arrive here since Francis was going off on the receptionist too.
<p>
Francis was too foolish to realize that the entirety of his arm had been burnt. He assumed that a small area at the top of his hand and wrist were the only places damaged. But that was simply because he was squeamish when it came to disturbing images. He couldn’t stomach looking more at his wound.
<p>
There was a bit of blood soaking the bed, but it wasn’t enough for anyone at a far distance to notice and Guy wasn’t giving the damage away with his expression. Instead he was more calm then the nurse and Francis combined.

Siri led a dangerous life - there was no denying it. So, the fact that she had found herself hung over, half devoured by a vampire, and laying in a pool of her own vomit somewhere Downtown after a night of drinking wasn't completely unsurprising. Manta Island was not somewhere you wanted to black out.

All she wanted was somewhere safe to fall asleep, and a steady stream of saline dripping into her arm. It was a nice perk that they'd offered her an awkward backless gown to change into, and get out of her clothes sticky with blood, but it still caked in her hair. She reached up to grab a handful of white curls and shook it out, heaving a long sigh that absolutely reeked of vodka.

She could hear yelling coming from the room she was assigned to lay in before she'd even opened the door, and physically cringed at it as she'd entered the room - both hands cradling her throbbing head. "Fuck my life." She muttered before climbing onto her bed, and proceeded to bury her face into the pillow and mash it against her ears. It was of no use, and she sat up with abrupt annoyance. Instead of waiting for the saline drip to be administered for her, the girl probed it into her own vein with startling accuracy, taped it down, and lolled back into her bed.

She could see the man complaining fairly well, but whoever was sitting in the bed beside her was veiled by the thin privacy sheet separating them. She could only make out his shadow's silhouette, sitting there quietly as his boyfriend or something gave the nurse hell. Siri scooted to the edge of her bed and leaned out to peel back the wall's edge of the sheet, pulling it just enough to see the edge of the boy's ear. "Hey!" She stagewhispered, wriggling a finger through the hole to further garner his attention, "What's his deal? My head is gonna explode."

The nurse noticed the woman who had entered and tried to gesture to one of the beds as she dealt with Francis who hadn’t noticed her presence at all. She managed to calm him down slightly or rather he had worked himself up into a frenzy that he could barely breathe. As Francis puffed and fanned his face the nurse finally had a chance to talk.
<p>
The strong scent of alcohol instantly reached Guy as he remained motionless on his bed. The woman’s curtain was drawn partially by the nurse to give the woman some privacy from the scene unfolding within this room but her attention was still on Francis who seemed to be having a panic attack now.
<p>
The woman who was in the bed in front of him began whispering to him. He couldn’t see her completely but he could smell her foul scent easily. His gaze darkened as he was reminded of his first step mother and that made him wonder if she looked as atrocious as her too.
<p>
Guy reached for the curtain before him and pulled it open to reveal the woman. She had brown eyes with slightly curly blonde hair. At the top of her head were brown roots beginning to grow in. Her body weight matched her lifestyle complete; sickly skinny. She was curve-less due to her frame and weight. There were bruises on her from recent or past falls and evidence of blood in her hair and other crevices. But there was also the stench of vomit too…
<p>
He knew exactly what she was… but he held his tongue and had to remind himself of his therapy. This would be the perfect opportunity to test himself. Guy had never thought that he would meet such a thing within an Academy.
<p>
“Hello,” he told her with a low voice and a gaze that revealed nothing but a dark void. He started with a simple greeting before answering the question she had whispered before. “Francis is concerned.”

He was far younger than she'd anticipated based upon the first perception of his boyfriend. Definitely a high school boy, there was no doubt about that, but something in his mismatched eyes belayed the innocence of a kid with a face as young as his. She tilted her head in response to his odd, intense stare.

Perhaps the 'Francis' fellow was an older brother or something - he couldn't be this bad of a cradle robber, at least not in public.

"Concerned?" She echoed, inwardly trying to shake off the initial instinct of wariness she had upon first seeing the boy, upon hearing his dead voice. "Well, you're in an infirmary. I don't know if you're new here, kid, but they've got enough physical and magical remedies to fix you right up." She tried her best at a reassuring grin and shuffled herself away just a tad, back more comfortably on her bed. Offhandedly, she rolled over to squeeze her saline drip, trying to force her hangover away. "What are you in for, kiddo?" She asked, tossing a haphazard glance at him over her shoulder. She quipped a brow, flitting her eyes to the older dude. "I presume nothing too bad, with this big guy Francis looking out for you so well."

The woman was affected as she spoke to him but she held her ground rather easily and carried on the conversation without further strain. He was having difficulty concentrating on his own thoughts but he refused to allow himself to be swayed by the heavy fog threatening to consume him. Not when he had such a prized opportunity before him.
<p>
“Both I and Francis are new here,” Guy returned blankly but he felt as though he were doing very well with this conversation. The woman tried to make herself comfortable and apparently took pleasure in causing herself pain by squeezing her IV bag.
<p>
“What are you in for, kiddo?” she asked over her shoulder and seemed to flirtatiously compliment his bodyguard. But the act of flirting if that was what she was doing held no effect on him whatsoever. He was immune to female’s toxic advances.
<p>
“A burn,” he returned and looked in the direction of Francis and the nurse who were finally ready to treat him. “Care to watch?” he questioned almost cruelly as he stood up reached for the curtain in front of him, twisted it around his arm and then yanked with enough force to tear the bar down.
<p>
The sound of it clashing to the floor was loud and immediately brought both adults attentions towards them.
<p>
“Good heavens,” the nurse exclaimed as she saw the damage. “What happened?” There was a frown within her gaze but Guy could recognize the difference between real anger and concern.
<p>
“I slipped.” He replied and sat down on his bed. The curtain he had broken would have been the only privacy he would have had. But without it the woman could watch unhindered.

The signals and interpretations this boy might be receiving from Siri were well beyond her comprehension - she had no idea what he thought of her. Once she'd pinned him as a young kid, the girl was attempting a friendly reassurance and easy conversation. However, there was no telling how her words and actions were really coming off from his point of view - she was stinking of vodka, after all. Yet, she knew how a young high school age Siri felt about being trapped inside of cold hospital environments all of the time growing up, and she'd wanted to give him some semblance of comfort.

There was something about his demeanor that was off, like a bright red flag flailing about in Siri's face each time he spoke. It wasn't that he was particularly rude or offensive. He was just... blank, empty, as sterile in his responses as the room around them. The young boy lacked humanity. Or so, she'd thought, until he asked her that ridiculous question. There was the emotion, the sudden bile in his question causing her to roll around completely to face him in confusion. "Eh...?" She managed, just before he'd ripped the curtain down (hell, even the bar supporting it) with such a force and suddenness that it appeared to Siri he'd just barely been holding back from snapping.

She'd watched the bar as it clattered with metallic twangs against the floor tiles with knit brows, and dragged her gaze slowly up from it to the boy's face in time to watch him lie. There was a piece of Siri that warned her that the boy must have problems, that he likely didn't want to be disturbed - it told her to leave him alone. But, there was a stronger part of Siri that was enraged to have her friendliness spat back in her face. A vital part that was annoyed that the kid appeared to be trying to scare her off. A simple request to be left alone was enough, and it stung her that he'd moved so violently around her. So, instead, she swung her legs over the edge of the bed, and braced her toes against the curtain rod. "Sure," She responded to his question, propping her elbows on her knees as if leaning forward to get an even better look from the distance of her bed. Idly, she rolled the bar along the ground with her feet, an ebb and flow towards the boy with obnoxious 'clickclickclick' of the curtain clips with each pass.

"How'd you get burned?"

The girl’s reaction was slow but Guy easily liked that to her intoxicated state. He wasn’t bothered by that however he wanted her to watch and continue conversing with him. He was doing very well so far and that meant he was one step closer to being the proper citizen Lucy wanted him so strongly to be.
<p>
“Sure,” she replied and gave him all the attention he wanted. Her foot touched the bottom of the bar and began gently rolling it back and forth but the sound didn’t bother him. The nurse by now had returned to the front area to collect some scissors to cut Guy’s shirt sleeve. She needed close contact with the wound in order to heal it.
<p>
Francis was still trying to calm himself down and prepare for when he had to see Guy’s wound again. But he wouldn’t back down… or so he thought. Unknown to him the moment the nurse began cutting open his shirt he would close his eyes.
<p>
“How’d you get burned?” She asked and continued rolling the bar underneath her foot.
<p>
“A boy,” Guy returned but his tone was dead again like before. His interest in this situation hadn’t wavered at all though. “He said I stared too much,” Guy explained more and unknown to this girl this was the first he had ever engaged so heavily in conversation.
<p>
Guy watched the girl closely and didn’t break eye contact with her at all. Even as the nurse came back and sat down beside him on the bed. She began warning him that cutting open his clothes might hurt. But he offered her no response and simply continued taking in the woman.
<p>
As she cut the clothes away more of his wound was revealed. The scent of vodka was no longer the only sickening smell in the air now. As more of his skin was revealed it was clear that he had third degree burn throughout the expansion of his arm.
<p>
The boy who had burned him had started slow but when Guy revealed no reaction and seemingly refused to look away the boy took his burning ability to the extreme. Guy naturally had a high tolerance to pain but what made him virtually immune to it was the countless pills he took every day.
<p>
“Oh gosh…” the nurse responded and proceeded to hold her breath as she peeled away his clothes. Her response sadly caused Francis to open his eyes.
<p>
“What—“ he began but never finished as he saw Guy’s atrocious wound and hit the ground like a rock. The nurse instantly looked towards the fainted man and quickly grew irritated.
<p>
“Oh for the love of… just leave him be.” She stated and was clearly tired of dealing with him. She instead began slowly healing Guy’s arm.
