During this time, where the heavens were just pulling the sun up into the blue skies and administrators, teachers and only perhaps a handful of students who have planned to arrive to school early for whatever reason, one student in particular was on his bike and peddling to make the wheels seem like they were gliding along the concrete when he picked up speed with hopes of getting to Starlight Academy as soon as possible.

Both of his gloved hands were gripping on to the handles and with a slight turn from his upper body after a temporary lapse in his peddling that slowed him down a little bit; the bike made a sharp left turn down the road and finally after a fifteen minute bike ride, he brought his left heel down on the concrete upon glancing at entrance of the academy from the corner of his, as his bike slows down to a complete stop before his entire foot was planted on the ground; he was confident that he has arrived at his destination. So with a small smile, noting of feelings of accomplishment of finding that came with locating the school so quickly, he lifted his leg over and off the bike before adjusting the strap on his navy blue backpack on his back with one hand and holding his bike steady with another.

His glance around the school with filled with a little disappointment, although it does makes sense that it would look like any other academy, only larger, he was hoping for a little bit more action then this since it was a school for people with powers. Putting those thoughts aside, Damian wanted to get what he wanted to get done first and that was a our of the school, it was the only reason he woke up so early anyway. After he rolled his bike next to a nearby iron pole, locking it with an chain and lock he had brought along. With a sharp exhale, he pulled the back of his white collar shirt down and dusted the front of his black pants off with the back of his hand with a single swipe for both legs.

Walking down towards the entrance of the school, he pulled his black gloves off and stuffed them both into his back pocket, making a mental note that he should probably ask someone for the grand tour. "..Wonder who would help me out around here." He thought as he entered through the double doors, contemplating on what he was going to say since it has been a long time since he actually entered a school building like this and he was feeling a little out of place. When he noticed a woman sitting down, her eyes glued to a stack of papers behind a desk tin the center of the room.

So he approached her, with an even tempered and inscrutable expression on his face, hoping she could help him out. Before he would ask, there was a clipboard with a pen attached to a silver beaded chain and list of different names on top of the desk, which he picked it up, figuring out that he needed to write his name down on it. So he took the pen and quickly scribbled his name down on the line then placed the clipboard down, while the assistant just shot a glance at him and continued writing. Quick and easy with no conversation, it may be a bit dull to others but Damian honestly preferred to do a lot of things that way and it is easy for him to do that. He walked over to a row of seats and sat down, crossing one leg over the other and continues to survey the area; waiting for his name to be called.

Strangely enough, music wasn't quite the popular subject at Starlight than at other schools. It was a thought that had bothered Aurora for a little bit of time, but the reason was actually quite simple: in a school that offered ability development as an elective, music unfortunately took a backseat. That said, at the very least, most people enjoyed what she had to offer, even if it was much less flashy than throwing fireballs or learning how to teleport.

To that end, Aurora often had pile of free time after planning for classes, and it was time she used during work to network of sorts and build relationships with teachers and students. Sometimes the conversations were impromptu, and other times structured. In this case, it was the latter: tours were being conducted today. A standard occurrence to happen at the school, but only rarely did Aurora actually conduct a tour for herself. But hey, new experiences right?

Wearing full robes for once, Aurora strode through the doors to the administrative building, and silently toed her way to the front desk, looking for that little clipboard that held the names of those in wait. She turned her head, looking at the small wait list, then simply nodded to the receptionist.

"Damian?"

It was a simple call from a reasonably quiet, sweet and confident voice, despite being of a shorter height than she suspected would be her pick for the next hour or so. She placed the clipboard down and waited, forming a bit of a plan on where they would be going.

To be frank, there wasn't much of a plan. Maybe she should have waited.

Since he didn't bother to bring anything to occupy his mind while he waited, his were examining every corner of the office until he noticed someone wearing a very peculiar robe enter the building; a short and young girl but despite her useful appearance, there seemed to be a certain kind maturity in her eyes that you don't see in any kind of kid his age.

Of course it wouldn't mean anything in particular or so Damian thought. Taking his eyes off her for a second, he continued to let his eyes wander until his name was called shortly after. Turning his attention back to the short woman, seeing that she was the one who called him, Two minutes and twenty seconds until his name was called?

It seems like a pretty good start to a school year unless he was mistaken; Damien really glad that he came so early and with a slight nod of his head, he stood up and slipped both of his hands into his pockets. He looked down at her in the eyes as he approached her, not sure what to make of this one at first glance and although she did seem like a young girl, he was guarded. If this was indeed a school for those with special gifts then chances were that she would have an ability as well plus, he doesn't do well with woman.

With a soft grunt that came from him clearing his throat, refusing to let a little shyness get the better of him, Damian stood in front of her and spoke in a respectful tone of voice.

"That would be me. Damian GriffenCrafter."

After he took his right hand out of his pocket, he extended it to her to offer a hand shake. "Nice to meet you Miss..." He paused, not really knowing her name and because for some reason, he felt that he should treat this woman with the same respect he should any adult, as what he was taught to do; although she barely looked older than he was. A side effect of his powers? Maybe he knows something about what this woman really was but didn't have enough evidence to come to an actual conclusion.

Contrary to her last trip in order to give a student a tour, she got an immediate response to her inquiry for a student. Aurora in turn sighed not in frustration, but in relief; the last time she had tried to give a student a tour, the guy had ended up threatening her, and although this was a school for the supernatural of sorts, there was little she could do unless he actually acted on those threats.

Then again, that's why she was teaching. In all fairness, she was learning as well however.

Aurora's first reaction to Damian was actually quite subdued as well. He was maybe six feet tall or just a little more, but other than the near one foot height difference between the two, an oddity that wasn't actually that rare...Damian was actually rather unassuming. In fact, if Starlight wasn't a school for the supernatural, it's quite likely Aurora would have simply brushed him off as just another person.

"Aurora Silivasi, It's a pleasure Mr. GriffenCrafter."

Add his last name to the so far, short list of oddities. She did also accept his handshake, soon putting her hands behind her back.

"You can use my first name, or Thirteen. You're not in any of my classes yet." She mentioned with a small smile. This was not a professional or academic tour, and she wasn't teaching. The titles she held thus, we're quite meaningless.

"I'm here to conduct your tour, but I'd like to say it's quite informal. Don't mind asking questions, offering comments, or requesting to see particular parts of the school. I would imagine that you have several each."

She waved her hand out an internal door to another part of Starlight. It was cold out...that part of the tour would have to wait.

"Shall we, Damian?"

Now that the introductions and a pleasant hand shake were out of the way, his hand had retreated back into his pockets as he listens to what the woman who had introduced herself as Aurora Silvasi or Thirteen (a name Damian would most likely not be using.)

"True...but I still need to show a little more respect for my elders y'know." He jest, slowly easing back into his mojo thus making it easier for him to relax in front of the instructor. As meaningless as they may seem at the moment, using titles has been etched into his brain from his youth and he believes holding such respect does help build his character in the long run.

The way she spoke and how she seemed to hold herself up made it clear to Damian that she was indeed much older than she looks; meaning that she is one after all which kind of stepped on his thought of under-aged teachers in this school that was born right out of his Japanese cartoon contaminated imagination thus chalking another point up under the title that this place seems to be almost like any other school.

"Oh of course. Word of warning though, I tend to pick things up quickly so if I do ask questions it maybe more on the extracurricular classes you have or ... why you look like you are in your teens." He joked with a scoff as if he was passing it off as a joke but in all seriousness, he was rather curious on how a teacher could look younger than he does.

Saving that question for a later time, he looked over towards Ms. Silivasi's hand that checked the temperature outdoors which was kind of low since we are still in Winter.

"Yeah, lead the way Ms. Silivasi. Oh and don't worry if it's too cold outside. I can tough it out for the sake of getting the through more uncomfortable part of the tour out of the way,"

He walked past her and took a look outside of the door, the chilly wind blowing against his cheeks and he took a step back. It was freezing outside but his suggestion still stands.

Two minutes in, and Aurora was already enjoying herself. Damian seemed pleasant enough, and Aurora herself was feeling rather wide awake for once in her lifetime, not having to resort to coffee to start the day...or keep her going through it. It was an adult habit, and she was starting to wonder if Damian had already seen what was making her tick, no pun intended.

"It's very much appreciated, but you're already making me feel old."

If he was going to joke, so was she. For a mage, she wasn't particularly old actually. Thinking to those people she knew on Horizon, the oldest she was aware of (and there were definitely probably older) was a smidge over seven hundred years or so. The archivist of the library. The council had tried getting him to retire, but had gone quiet on that note after but a simple glare during a meeting.

What was of more interest was how he directed himself onto learning things quickly. Aurora sort of had the same trait so to speak, although it was normal, not supernatural. His questions then, were one based on what she had to offer out of school...and her age. Seems he hadn't quite figured it out...but to his credit, he was also the first to ever ask about it.

"If you find yourself lacking for work, I'm sure someone will have something for you. I've always got something going on if you enjoy playing music or singing. As for my age..."

She had to think about this one somewhat.

"I do try and take care of myself, but since you pick up on things quickly..."

She tapped the left side of her head and smiled, her finger sitting on a brass and golden gear hairpiece. There were two crooked arrows pointing in different directions, with different heights.

"Anyways...I don't fancy another walk in the cold, so we'll skip that. This is Starlight's administration building, and I think you can figure out what goes on here. The headmaster's office, as well as anything that keeps the school actually running happens in here."

Aurora started to walk out and in towards the auditorium.

"Come on! I'll show you where I work. At least a part of the time."

For Damian, it was refreshing to see how Ms. Thirteen's mood seem to have brightened up a little bit more before the actual tour even began. It was a good sign since when he got on his bike this morning, he had his doubts on whether he was going to pull off a good first impression to anyone but as time continued to pass, second by second, the natural flow that made it easier for him to talk to others was quickly returning to him and now; he too was starting to enjoy how things were turning out for the better.

"Pssha... My mistake." Was the response that left his lips in response to Thirteen's joke. A teacher with a sense of humor was enlightening to him it gave him idea that music class she teaches must not be too dull at all which may not be far from the truth considering that he was getting that little notion.

Once she finished answering his two questions, although it would have been fine if they were left unanswered; he was satisfied that they were still answered anyway because for one, a good part time activity was something he knew he needed since he had plenty of time on his hands nowadays.

As for the question of her age, his ability had finally kicked into full throttle seeing that it was a subject that Ms. Thirteen didn't seem to be too uncomfortable to talk about and with that said, he now had a pretty good guess but that guess had suddenly transformed into absolute certainty when the Time Mage tapped onto that brass and golden hairpiece that resemble a clockwork gear.

After a brief glance at the hair piece for but a split second, his eyes returned to Ms. Thirteen and they widen in a combination of astonishment and slight disbelief. "Dear lord... " Were one of the many thoughts that bounced back and forth past his head when he learned of Ms. Thirteen's ability.

From it's weaknesses to it's strength, it's origin, everything and it made his mind race as his pupils were dilated and began to twitch from left to right at high speeds and his heart rate also began to pick up. A side effect from his brain having to absorb all of that extensive information in a second and then a soft grunt of pain left his lips and both of his hands slipped out of his pockets while the left one was placed on his forehead; all of this happening while Ms. Thirteen was starting to speak about the tour.

"Right... Right..." He responded softly after letting out a sigh that was a sign of a little exhaustion that came from his head sucking so much information in. It felt like his brain was about to explode but for the sake of the moment, he tried his hand at keeping up a straight face and slipped his hands back into his pockets. By the time all that was done, Thirteen began walking forward and offered to show Damian where she worked.

So he shook his head a little and smiled, following her out of the Admissions Office and through the school. Soon he found himself walking into a hall that lead to the auditorium which he learned by passing by a sign stating such with a white arrow pointing in the direction the mage and student were walking. When they finally came across the entrance, Damian picked up the pace and grabbed the handle of the door with his left hand and opened it for the instructor.

"You're one hundred and forty three years old... which isn't unusual since you are also an awakened Mage that controls time and entropy."

Pausing and letting out a sharp exhale, Damian shook his head again as he feels like he stepped out of line with learning all of that information. "Sorry... I didn't mean to offend you. I can't turn this thing off and it tends to give me a headache if I don't share some of it." He continued, looking upon Thirteen with apologetic eyes.

"I'm joking. Most people don't bring up my age as a conversation piece."

It was Starlight. Often when she went on these tours, nobody questioned a fifteen or seventeen year old teacher to be working as a professor, tour guide, or whatever. It was accepted as natural. As much as Aurora didn't mind not talking about the weird things, the point was that Starlight as a school was in fact different, and often students took greater risk and hardship on by not asking questions. Common sense was thrown out the window for the most part. Suffice to say that Aurora was quite happy right now to answer anything he could think up.

As they were starting to walk, and Aurora speaking, Damian let out a small grunt of pain, and subsequently held a hand to his head as if a migraine had suddenly appeared.

"Hey hey, are you alright?"

He seemed okay enough, but a stop in the auditorium was now almost a requirement. There were plenty of comfortable seats around, and no doubt that Damian would like to sit down just a moment. Aurora certainly would enjoy that...the seats were actually quite comfortable for even a long concert. As they were walking through however, Damian managed to get just about everything about her correct, including the deduction of her main spheres, and her age down to the year.

"Don't worry, I know the feeling. I'm sure that must have been quite a trip sorting through all that information. That said...can you keep that stuff quiet from anyone else? Most people don't appreciate knowing that someone could be changing their timeline or fate on a whim."

It was something she feared actually. She enjoyed having friends, she enjoyed hanging out with people. But there was some trust issues with people she had just met if they realized that time and fate were two of her major spheres.

"But yes, you're correct, and getting all that information from a small tidbit is pretty incredible. Actually, you've got a bit of entropic resonance going through you as well. Anyways...there's a little more to me than just that, but you've certainly got me down."

However, something else was now bothering her.

"On that note...I'm beginning to wonder if this tour is kind of pointless. If I lead you somewhere, you're going to know how it works almost instantly, so there isn't much point in explaining anything. Would you prefer something a bit more...unconventional?"

Upon entering the auditorium, a slightly groggy Damian was relieved to hear that Ms. Thirteen was not offended from the sudden deduction of her age and the main spheres of magic that she has control over and the two walked down the small flight of stairs. Seeing that it maybe best for him to relax a little from the sudden emergence of the pain in his head, he walked over and sat down on the first seat in the last row within this large room.

Laying back, he gazed up at the curtains in the front stage and imagined a large orchestra playing a soothing symphony which aided his relaxation time. Since he took some time to sit before answering Thirteen's question, he then said on to her.

"Heh... too answer your previous question..Yeah, I'll be up and running again in no time." The tone of his voice displaying that he was recovering his carefree exuberance as his headache began to fade away.

"..Mmhm. Things like that can be a hard pill to swallow. Don't worry, your secret is safe with me." He assured as he rest his head on to the back of his left hand that stood up on the arm rest. Just from the way she worded that last comment gave Damian the idea that she shows some fear towards others learning of her ability because she does not wish to be ostracized; which was something he could relate to given that back in his previous schools, his ability made it difficult for him to get along with kids in his class.

After Thirteen confirmed the information he learned from her, one of the things that Damian picked up from her response was having entropic resonance, something that he learned a little about from his last acquisition of information.

From what he could gather, there are three different form of magical resonance: Dynamic, Entropic and Static. There maybe a possibility for more however, he lacked the clues and the motivation to uncover more at the moment so he tabled the theory for now and would ask Thirteen more about it when the time comes.

Noticing a slight change in Thirteen's expression, Damian snapped out of his thoughts just in time to hear about her concern on usefulness of this tour and the proposal of something else. With a hearty chuckle, he acknowledged that it may certainly be a problem and stood up from out of his chair. "That depends Ms. Silivasi. What do you have in mind?" He inquired as he stuffed his hands into his pockets again.

Aurora was getting the feeling that Damian was one that could be trusted with at least some of the simple stuff. His experiences no doubt were unique like many of the others, excepting that he truly understood them. Often, many a person would simply watch the world turn by without understanding how everything fit, how everything connected. Connections were generally relegated to the realm of correspondence, but entropy had a huge part in determining the cycle of creation and decay; the fate of both objects and people.

When she was asked about her idea, Aurora nodded towards the piano and got up from her seat, heading for the bench, silently asking Damian to come along towards the stage. Before she sat down however, the mage lifted the cover of the Steinway, and propped it open, then sat down quietly on the bench.

"Just a quick test of sorts, and maybe a little game, I'm not sure yet."

She set a hand on the cover for the keyboard.

"This Steinway Model D Grand is nearly nine feet long, and weighs about a half ton. A piano like this one is known to be a marvel of engineering of sorts. They last a really, really long time because of the marvelous care of those that play and maintain them."

Aurora started tapping the cover of the keys as if she was playing a tune.

"That said...nothing lasts forever. This piano is only a couple of years old, and to the casual observer, its construction is flawless, its beauty, doubtless...to the casual observer. But something tells me that you're not a casual observer. Want to take a few guesses as to this beast's faults?"

It wasn't a trick question. Aurora had been playing on this monstrosity a number of times, and of course, after some time, things start to come apart. That wasn't to say they of course couldn't be fixed; the onslaught of entropy reversed. She just hadn't gotten around to fixing a rather simple problem that came to pianos after being played often and hard.
