That wonderful gent over there
Much better was right, it felt good to be in dry clothes again. Cirro left his backpack in his room, and switched his shoes out for a pair of flip flops, and the more he walked, the more he appreciated not wearing wet socks.

When they reached the end of the hall, Cirro was surprised to find the rain much worse than before. His face appeared a tad worried, when Chloe asked about him having an umbrella. He, quite frankly, didn't pack an umbrella when he came to the island. He used to have three of the things, but now they were out of luck. "Sorry, I don't have one of those here..." He really needed to go out and buy some clothes and other supplies like an umbrella. He didn't end up taking a whole lot with him to the island.

"Uh, it's okay though! I have the next best thing. Just er, wait right here, I'll be back in a few minutes." He scratched the back of his head nervously as he spoke, then turned and headed back to his room. Once he was inside, he started dancing. It was actually pretty quiet, but anyone on the outside would still be able to hear him jumping around. After two minutes, his hair was red, and the weather was sunny out.

When he got back to Chloe, he checked to see if his plan would actually work. "Quick question, how far is the library?" If the library was too far away, then the weather wouldn't reach.

Chloe was a little surprised to see the rain stop outside, but that had a reasonable explanation to it. Cirro said he could dance to make the rain stop. So, the rain stopped that suddenly because of magic, and it was sunny out because of magic. Chloe could get behind that.

What Chloe couldn't understand was Cirro's hair color. She was staring at red where there had been blue just minutes ago.

"Not too far. Maybe a five minute walk. Did you, uh, do something with your hair?" Why would he dye his hair a different color just to go out to the library? How did he even find the time?

Cirro was relieved to hear that the library was only five minutes away. It meant that they were going to be able to get there without running into the rain again. "Okay great! We can get there no problem then."

He realised that Chloe was looking at his hair and started blushing, just a little. When she asked the question, he looked up, half expecting his hair to be in a mess. Instead, he realised that he'd never explained that part to her before, she was talking about the sudden change from blue to red. "Oh. I didn't do that, well I sort of did, but not on purpose. My hair changes colour depending on the weather. Earlier it was rainy, so my hair was blue; now it's sunny, so it's red." It was hard to believe without seeing it happen, he still had no idea how to explain it. Frankly, it didn't make any sense. Although, nothing really did anymore. "It was brown at one point, but now it's only brown when the weather gets dull."

"I used to have to cover up my hair all the time, but I haven't really been doing that since I got here." It was nice actually, being able to go around without a hood on.

Talking about his colour changing hair got him wondering what unbelievable stuff Chloe was capable of. Demons were obviously different than his preconception of them, but from what he saw at the lake, she had to have had some sort of special ability. "Umm, speaking of, unusual abilities, is there anything special that you can do? I mean, being a demon can't just mean having a tail and horns right? If you are okay with it, I'd like to learn more." He was slowly becoming less afraid and more curious in regards to the supernatural stuff on the island. He just hoped it was okay for him to ask something like that.

Chloe nodded. She could readily accept that he had magical color-changing hair. She had seen too much weird stuff not to accept such a possibility. And magical color-changing hair could certainly break the Veil of Secrecy if too many people noticed it. It must have been a little liberating for him to come here. Chloe could relate, to a degree.

The two headed towards the exit, on their way to the library.

When he asked about her abilities, Chloe had to restrain herself from going on a tangent. "Well. Yeah. Actually, a lot of demons don't look anything like me, with the horns or the tail or the weird legs. There's a lot of different kinds of us. But that's a whole other story." She spent a moment thinking. "Anyway. First off, I can summon other demons. The rules for that are pretty complicated. There's a couple of them I have a contract with that I can just call in for backup when I need it. I learned how to do all that after I got here. And secondly..." She wondered, for a moment, if it would be okay to demonstrate the other. "It's hard to explain. I can temporarily drain a little bit of strength from people, for a few minutes at a time. But it does more that. People tell me it makes them feel warm and fuzzy, too. Uh..." She held out her hand. "If you hold my hand for a second I can demonstrate."

Surely, it would be okay if he agreed to it. She was being honest, and she wasn't pressuring him. She was also just starting to realize that her cravings were coming back, which was odd, because it couldn't have been that long ago that she'd fed on someone.

It seemed as if Chloe had no problem believing that his hair changed colour on its own. Cirro figured that things like that must get easier to believe the longer people stayed on the island. He probably would've believed something crazy like that, but other people never did. Not until now anyway.

The ability to summon other demons sounded cool. With a power like that, he figured that Chloe must never get lonely. Although it seemed as if it wasn't as easy as it sounded. Cirro's face showed just how amazed he was by this, but he was surprised to find that she had a second ability. One that was easier to show than to explain apparently.

When she held out her hand, he got pretty nervous. It wasn't that he didn't trust Chloe, it was more the idea of contact at all that terrified him. He rarely made contact with anyone at all, even his parents hadn't laid a finger on him much in recent years. He bit the inside of his lip, looking down at her hand, clearly conflicted. "You drain strength? Does that mean this is going to make me feel weak?" His question was more or less just stalling, he didn't really worry about that.

He looked at her, with a hint of fear in his eyes, and regardless of her answer, he touched her hand with his. He didn't actually make an attempt to hold it, instead he kept his hand opened and just held it in place touching her's. A shiver went through him as he did it, simply holding it against her hand made him uncomfortable. Despite this, he stayed strong and waited for her power to start.

"A little bit," Chloe admitted. "But it'll wear off pretty fast." She took his hand - immediately, they both felt warm and fuzzy, heart fluttering with a feeling like true love, but somehow more intense. It was pleasant. It was strong. I twas almost overwhelming.

And then, it was over. She let him go after a couple of seconds. "Thanks." She panicked for a moment, realizing she didn't explain why she needed to do this, and didn't want to explain it either. "I um, don't get to do that enough." That was the closest thing to the truth he would get. "You feel okay, right?"

He should still be able to walk, Chloe thought. He should only feel a tiny bit weaker now. Hopefully he wouldn't get that empty feeling she sometimes got after it ended.
