Veronica first stepped in the courtyard with a tad bit of uncertainty. Glancing around her surroundings, the teen was expecting other people to be there, but was relieved to find the area to be fairly empty. The moonlight seemed rather beautiful that night, and Veronica wanted to enjoy it for a little while before heading to be. On the collar of her shirt rested a blue flower. The same one that was given to her by Aedan Drago, her new friend.

Looking around the area, she found a bench that was clean enough to sit on. Veronica took the flower out of her shirt and examined it further. It was perplexing, to say the least, how the fragile item wasn't even fading in the slightest. Was the boy's powers getting stronger and he didn't even know it? Or was this friendship meant to be? The thought puzzled her, but regardless, she was glad she had made a friend in such a short time. After all, even a recluse needs some human contact. Aedan seemed like a good one.

She wasn't expecting to get anymore anytime soon. One was plenty good for now, but she found herself thinking about him a lot. Was it because she was such a recluse that she clung to the few friends she made? That was a true possibility. She shook those thoughts out. Now wasn't the time to get technical. After all, it was plenty good enough that he was her friend. Veronica certainly didn't want to ruin that with complications.

For now, watching the full moon at its brightest was the most serene thing Veronica had ever seen. The flower in her hand simply shimmered in the moonlight bringing a smile across her face. Yes, coming to this school was certainly one of the best decisions Veronica has ever made.

Amara was so revealed to be out of her class. The stress on her mind was slowly easing away has she walked through the moonlit courtyard. Beside her was supernatural companion Lichy. She had promised the amber eyed pet a chance to stretch his legs after being cooped up all day her room. The trees all glistened as the light reflected off the cuticles of all the leaves hanging high above the ground. It was a really pretty sight that most people would ignore. However many demons and night dwellers got to see this quite regularly and for Amara it never failed to amaze.

Thankfully her timing was impeccable as she made it home with swift haste .Finishing up her homework didn't take her long when she got home. Most of it was Professor Thurstan homework on bloodlines and that was her easiest class. Amara still wondered if she would get her powers soon or even at all. A loud sigh escaped her mouth as the burden of having to learn more powers was going to be tedious. She would never be able to perfect her current ones if more kept getting thrown on her plate. Maybe it wouldn't manifest. The thought of that made the small slouch in Amara's walk disappear. It was replaced by a tall figure, chest puffed out,and a large smile fangs in full view.

As she was nearing the middle of the park a figure could be made out. It brought Amara at ease . The fact that so little people were here was surprising. Most of the night classes had ended and many of the teachers and students who live in the city would be on their way to the bus. Maybe rush hour had passed by already and the stragglers were all that was left. The girl seemed short in nature and was clutching a small flower. Her face couldnt really be made out from the hair blocking her vision. Lichy was just as curious as she was apparently as he had gone from looking at the squirrels and birds moving around to just the figure in front.

Amara slowly approached the girl slowly as they drew ever closer to her. Amara didn't want to be a nuisance so she picked up her pace. Beginning to walk past the set of benches coming up she had the full intention of ignoring the stranger. However Lichy seemed to have had another plan all together. The large dire wolf was face height with the girl as he marched his way over to the sitting girl. "AHH! Lichy where are you going!" Lichy looked back at Amara before setting down quietly in front of the girl. Amara raced after the little trouble maker. "Why do you always make a fuss boy." She had a large mean glare of disappointment on her face as she looked at the wolf. Her expression quickly changed s she noticed the person more closely it was a girl, and a cute one at that. "Oh...ummmm...hello...Sorry if he scared you." The wolf looked up at her and then went back to looking back at the squirrels.

Before Veronica's senses became affected by drowsiness, the young teen's attention was brought to a large sniffing sound that came from an equally huge canine. Veronica was surprised at the massive size of the dog, but then she calmed down when she saw how much like a normal dog he seemed to act like. She remembered seeing all of the neighborhood dogs at her hometown. They were always a pleasant sight to see. Veronica smiled as the dog approached her, seemingly taking some sort of an interest to her.

"Um, hello." Veronica awkwardly greeted. She was much more accustomed to talking with a turtle than a dog. They seemed way too human, to be honest. "What are you doing here? Do you have an owner?" Veronica thought about it for a moment before looking around slightly. "Or are you a werewolf?" Veronica whispered at him as if it would've been a secret. It probably wasn't. She didn't know why she was whispering, she just...

Anyway, Veronica's question was answered with the presence of the dog's owner. She scolded the dog for running off, and was clearly unhappy about the way the canine conducted himself. The dog couldn't really care any less, but he didn't really bother Veronica at all. Talking to those who couldn't talk back was something Veronica was more accustomed to than with people. Veronica glared at nothing because she felt some of the girl's anger, and decided to aim it at nothing.

Luckily, the girl's emotions seemed to calm down and they were replaced by something Veronica would most likely become really familiar with in this campus: the girl was a little nervous. Veronica, naturally, was already nervous. She always was when meeting new people. Her little brother always said that meeting new friends was fun, but he was so young and naive. Or maybe she was naive. Whatever the case, for her, meeting new people was always such a chore.

Her eyes returned to the flower in her hand and she seemed to glare at it. Veronica had already established to herself that she would make friends. Maybe this was a good opportunity to start making them. After a short time, Veronica finally looked up and saw the girl's face. It was strange, because the girl didn't seem human, and yet looked like one. She didn't know what it was about her, but it was strange. Her head tilted in confusion, but then she reasoned with herself that that was probably rude.

"Um, yes! Hi!" Veronica gulped again in nervousness. "I mean, um... No, he didn't scare me at all! He's, uh, big and fluffy. Yes. Big and fluffy." Well, that was a strange way to start a conversation. But at least she didn't seem like a complete idiot. "I'm Amber," Not again! "I mean Veronica! ... What's your name?" Smooth, Sherlock. Real smooth.

Amara wished that she didn't have to be here right now. It was always bothersome taking Lichy on walks because all he ever did was cause a ruckus for her. Whether it be chasing some random cat girl or digging up a squirrels nuts just for the fun of it. Lichy was truly her favorite burden to have. She remembered the day she had gotten the fur ball. Well she didn't really get him through regular means but the memory was still sweet. Most people would be terrified of the direwolf but from the expression on the girls face and the fact she didn't run away and pure terror at the wolf must've meant something.

Amara had a feeling the girl wasn't supernatural in any sense. Nothing about the girl seemed off in the slightest. No extra limbs could be seen visibly. Not even her demeanor of acting was weird. All in all she seemed like a normal person. Well normal in the sense of she didn't automatically seem strange. The girl was weird though, her eyes never left that flower. Amara glared down at it an wondered were she had picked it from. Amara had walked this courtyard many times in her life during late nights and broad daylight. However not once did she see this particular flower. Maybe the girl had just come from the Botany department and was just taking in the nature before heading home. It wasn't unusual to see Botany enthusiast out at all times tending to their research in the labs.

Was asking her why she was out this late rude? She thought to her herself for a slight second. It did seem rude and the quicker she got through this unwanted conversation the quicker she could get Lich back home before he caused more damage to something. Her mind boggled the idea of just leaving after apologizing, but the look in the girls face when she stared up at her seemed so innocent and kind she couldn't be so rude. Amara had a tendency to scare away people so she shouldn't be ungrateful and just throw a possible friendship away. That exact reason probably played a point in why she had no friends besides Lichy now. If it wasnt for her enormous size it was her taste and personality that scared people. A tinge of depression hit Amara as she thought about how sad she really was as a demonic being. Her sister Kimi never had this problem as she comparably normal sized to most people. That and the fact she got all the beauty that came with being a dark skinned vampire boys were literally her slaves.

Snapping out of her inner depression she remembered she had given the girl a apology and was catching the beginning of it. It was a natural occurrence for her too go into random deviations of thought and overthinking even in the middle of conversation. Eh? Did she scare her already. The girls response was riddled with nervousness and it seemed like she was scared. Amara watched with a raised eyebrow as the girl even seemed to struggle with getting her name out properly. She felt that same tinge of sadness return as she had somehow did it again.

How had a giant wolf not cared her but she did? Maybe she was just cursed to be alone. Well at least she had Lichy. Her eyes looked behind the girl for a moment and noticed Lichy chasing a squirrel back and forth. "Oh! Nice to meet you Veronica. Did you maybe mess up because of Lichy's eyes. Most people notice the Amber first too." Amara tried to put on friendly smile. Considering her normal smile was friendly this was just her smiling so hard it looked like it would hurt."Well anyways its nice too meet you Veronica. My name is Amara."

Veronica's eyes softened in sympathy. After getting her own name wrong, which she did with everyone, the girl seemed to be a bit... Sad. It made the empathetic teen sad too. At most times, Veronica had a hard time differentiating emotions, but this had to be sadness.

Veronica tried to listen to what the girl, Amara she said her name was, but the sense of longing was strong. Veronica could feel it. There was definitely someone wanting to be loved, not wanting to be alone. Veronica knew what that was like.

"I'm sorry." She said suddenly. "Did I say something that made you sad? I didn't mean to. I didn't get my name wrong cause of you, if that's what you think." The girl let out a nervous sigh. "I just... don't talk to people much. Never have. It's my own fault that I get my name wrong. I do it while talking to everyone."

Amara's eyes lit up at the news."OH! NO....NO...NO...NO...NO.NO. You don't have to apologize im perfectly fine." Amara felt a little bit better inside knowing she hadn't completely struck out..yet at least. Though it was strange Amara was fairly good at hiding her moments of sadness. It was confusing but she didn't think much of it.

" I know the feeling well.I normally don't even get far enough to say my name before people run off." She could recall her countless time as a child going to the park and having the little kids run away from GIANT! is what they called her. Even the kid giants made fun of her for being so big.The thought of her time at the parks brought back that queasy feeling. "My best and probably only friend is Lichy over there."

Amara pointed towards where she had last seen him to notice he was gone. "Eh....." she looked back and forth before noticing a squirrel run past with a giant wolf in hot pursuit. "As you can see.He is a handful, but at least I know he loves me." Amara put on a full smile her fangs showing promptly and her hair glowing from the rays of the moon coming behind her.

Veronica hadn't really noticed the girl's size until just now. She honestly didn't know why, but the girl's strong emotion seemed to catch her attention more than her appearance, but of course she felt the size was somewhat intimidating. Veronica didn't know how the girl would feel if she flat out said that, but she decided not to make a big stink about this one. After all, she'd already sobbed her eyes out when she got here, so maybe she would freak out about a large person tomorrow.

"Wow," Veronica rolled her eyes. "Those totally sound like friends you should have. In a place where there are dragons, and people who shoot fire out of their hands, let's all run away from the girl who's like, what, 6 ft. tall? Forget those people, she's the dangerous one!" Of course, Veronica was being completely sarcastic, and she tried to be as obvious about it as she could. With her rolling eyes and her arched eyebrows, she thought people like that were ridiculous.

She felt like she made a good point, though. Why would they runaway from her? Sure, Amara was pretty big, and Veronica could see the intimidation from that, but was that really a big deal compared to people who shot fire out of their hands or beams out of their eye balls? She'd say no.

The boy she'd met earlier that day had a power that intimidated her quite a bit more, and they were friends now. The blue flower she had was proof of that.

"I have an animal friend too," Veronica nodded. "He's at home, though. I'm thinking about bringing him to campus, but only if my little brother can't handle taking care of him." Veronica smiled fondly. "He's a turtle. His name is Friend because I have no friends, so now he's my friend because he had no choice. I think he might outlive me."

Veronica looked up at the girl's face and caught sight of Amara's fangs as she grinned. The teen looked around a bit in awkward silence, but then realized that she was trying to be friendly, so she snapped out of her daze. "Oh." Veronica made a laugh and forced herself to make it sound like she wasn't nervous. "Yeah, I heard dogs could be like that. I thought about getting a dog, but they don't last as long as turtles do."

Amara's eyes lit up with happiness, It was like she had finally met someone who understood her. They weren't running away and from what she could tell the girl wasnt setting her up for some cruel joke down the line. For a human Veronica was very forgiving. Believe it or not there were still some pretty judgmental humans on the island who acted strange just because they felt superior.

Amara remembered going to an ice cream stand to look a flavors and the man refusing to sell her any because she didn't seem "old enough". She was a fucking vampire. It wasnt like she was gonna be able to consume the sweet for any enjoyment. Ugh! people like that deserve to have their blood smeared on bathroom latrine and body hung from a high tree.

Amara's eyes were a bit devilish but no so much anyone would know she was thinking such cruel thoughts. Veronica clearly understood as even she knew how stupid it was to make fun of a vampire with the amount of weird shit on this island. Amara had saw a dragon-kin who sneezed and burned his textbooks. While many of the students in the lounge just laughed and tried to help the poor guy.

Granted knew the unfortunate consequences of sneezing and losing control of your powers, but the idea she was feared over trivial size was astounding. Amara wanted to let out a small laugh at the girls clear sarcasm. This was nice. No one had ever just let her vent....well beside the staff, but they were paid to care in some instances.

Lichy had now come pacing back with a sad look on its face as his prey had escaped into a tall tree. Amara looked the wolf with evil eyes again as she was still upset he hadn't listened to her. Lichy was oblivious to her hate and was instead trying to nuzzle up with Veronica. The large wolf laid at her feet and closed its eyes.

"Don't call him a dog please...Every time I call him a dog he gets pissy at me and breaks my stuff. Unlike your pet Lichy really had no choice on whether or not to be my pet.......but that's another story." Lichy looked up at Amara with devilish evil eyes that made hers look like a newborn pup gave it. Lichy rubbed his soft lack fur on Veronica leg made sounds of enjoyment. Amara couldn't tell if it was annoyance or jealousy,or maybe even despair but the sight made her snappy."Don't think sucking up will get you out of trouble ill zap you!" part of her was joking but she still felt the static form around her hand,Lichy broke his gaze with her returning to his fake slumber. Amara sighed and took a seat next too Veronica and began to scratch the wolf behind the ears.
"So what made you stay out this late. Come to watch the moon?"

Veronica looked down at the wolf and looked at him in the eyes apologetically. "Oh, sorry!" She said, rubbing her fingers through his thick fur. "Alright, calling you a dog is off limits, isn't it? Of course you're not a dog!" She stated it with confidence, as if she were trying to raise up the canine's self-esteem. "Your a big, strong, wolf! You don't sit, play dead, or roll over! You lead a large army of your own kind against your foes, ready to take on enemies twice your size!" She pointed at a point on a nearby tree that would've been twice the height of the canine.

Veronica hardly noticed the canine's evil leer at his friend, because his soft fur was rubbing up against her leg. "Aw, he's so soft!" Her own hand hadn't left his pelt. It was just so nice to pet his fur, and she would as long as he was okay with it. "And my turtle didn't really have a choice," Veronica clarified. "Friend's just a turtle. He's not really as animate as a cat or dog, which Lichy is not!" A turtle would hardly be able to notice that it was a part of a family. If anything, Veronica was just there to feed Friend. That didn't stop her from viewing him as a friend.

"I wanted to see a bit more of the campus before I went and called it a night," Veronica explained. "I hadn't really gotten to know this place very well, you know? I mean I met someone already, aside from you, of course. But, he was just playing his violin on the roof of the school." Veronica smiled fondly as she remembered the violin Aedan had played. "He's really talented."

Veronica stopped herself from traveling to another world, and instead decided to bring her attention to Amara. "But, enough about me, what about you? How long have you been at this school?"

A cheeky grin appeared on Amara's face at the girl tangent about this boy. A large part of her wanted to tease the girl about how smitten she sounded but considered that very rude. Who was this mysterious guy. Alot of people like to go up too the roof for a lot of things both lewd and tame. However it wasnt a stretch to say musicians and artist populated it the most. Amara had been up there many times and she could see the appeal to just wanting to drift away in thought up there.

Her eyes wandered to the wolf in its own little heaven.Veronica was petting his fur leaving the lazy wolf to enjoy the pampering he was getting. If that wasnt enough Veronica was also laying it on with the compliments. Words like big and strong only inflated his ego,and Amara knew that this would get to him somehow.

His head would occasionally lift if he smelled a critter running about. Amara thought back to when they first met and a hint of pride came to her. She had made such a dazzling pretty thing. It was like a mother receiving compliments for her child. None of the glory was hers but id did lift her spirit.

"Well! i've been here since was born. I started in kindergarten like most Americans do and here I am now in the 11th grade trying to graduate." Amara tilted her head and went into a small thought. "Besides that there really isn't anything to crazy about me. I have the power to do this if anything."

Amara flicked her hand in front of the dogs releasing a small shock of electricity in his face. Lichy pounce up in fear and began looking around for a culprit before noticing it was just Amara. Her face carried an "I told you so" look and made Lichy bark in anger. "Oh calm down you know I wasnt aiming for you." her hand waving at him in dismissal. The wolf turned from in front of the two girls and hopped onto an adjacent bench to be left alone. "Yeah...so that and other stuff, but that power is unimportant. Can you do anything?"
