By this point, Isstar was pretty used to this drill. He had been in the islets for a while now, having met various people from his family. Well, family was a loose term at the moment. Sure, he had been accepted as a Rukt'In and had it tagged along with his name by this point, but it would be difficult for him to fully understand what a family exactly was. But, he had already learned a bit. It would be a lie if he said he didn't enjoy the conversation he had.

But there had also been various conversations with islets staff. It was all in the attempt to get Isstar familiar with socialising, to help him mellow out so he could move to the main island. But, he didn't enjoy the conversations with the staff as much as he did with the Rukt'Ins who visited. Probably because he felt they were a bit... forced. Those conversations he met with disinterest, or vague hostility. When asked about this meeting though, Isstar couldn't help but feel interested. It wasn't anyone he was related to, and it wasn't a member of the staff. Instead, it was a student from the school. Someone around Isstar's age. Well, Isstar's mental age.

However, some things wouldn't change. Even though Isstar felt a bit more interest in meeting this student, he still felt impatient. He leaned back in his seat, tapping his foot while he groaned. But if he heard a knock at the door, he would jump up from where he sat. Isstar stood awkwardly for a second, clearing his throat as he realised that he may have been a bit eager. With that, over to the door he goes to open it. Since the meetings with various Rukt'Ins had started, he had been told it was polite to answer the door if someone knocked. "Are you who I'm supposed to be seeing? Well, come in." The young dragon would barely allow the visitor time to answer before he'd move back into the room to sit down with a slump.

Angelo didn't really know who he was meeting. He knew his first name--Isstar--and more or less nothing else. That was the point. You didn't generally go into conversations knowing a bunch about the other person, but he had been told at least a general idea. Anger issues. Difficulty adjusting to the island. In need of socialization. All of those things were important bits of info, things that would help him in the conversation.

Angelo couldn't quite say why he'd decided that meeting with people from the Islets was a good idea. Pity? Probably that was an element. The idea of someone being in the islets for a long-forgotten crime, struggling to adapt with no one on the outside seemed sad to him. He had always been a shade too sympathetic to criminals (and villains, in his case) than he probably should have been, and that weighed on his mind as he passed through security to go to his first meeting.

A test program of sorts. To see if meeting with someone on the outside would help. He didn't really like the idea of being part of a pilot program like this, but he supposed it might as well be him.

It wasn't as if he was unfamiliar to the islets, or to the idea of visiting someone incarcerated. His worst fears had simply never actually materialized.

Even if he hadn't been briefed, Angelo still knew more than he should have. Isstar Rukt'in, his brain told him. A dragon, if the name hadn't given it away. Angelo had dressed as casually as he could muster, a short sleeved t-shirt revealing the majority of his arm, his jacket left back in the waiting room. He'd considered his school uniform, then decided against it.

"Isstar, right?" Angelo said, offering his hand for a shake, unsure if Isstar was socialized enough to know what that meant. "Angelo Genovese. Nice to meet you."

Isstar turned to look at Angelo again, this time he actually took the time to look him over. Upon noticing the offered hand, Isstar would stand with a huff to walk over and shake it. It had been taught to him that it was polite to do that if someone offered a handshake. His grip was loose, and he seemed a little impatient to get greetings over and done with. "Yeah, Isstar... Rukt'In. Angelo is a weird sounding name." There was a pause between his first and last name. Isstar was still unfamiliar having an actual name, plus a last name to go along with it. As for the 'name being weird' comment... Well, the dragon didn't exactly have a filter yet.

Now that he was closer again, he sized Angelo up. In particular, he kept looking at the metallic arm and the metal on Angelo's neck. He had never seen someone with a prosthetic before, so he felt curious about what this strange metal was. Also why this person had them. "So... why have you come to visit me, Angelo? I haven't particularly been told much." There was a rough way to how he spoke, like he had a rude or uncaring tone, but his expressions seemed to show a vague interest.

The young dragon would cross his arms as he observed Angelo. Isstar had no way of knowing that Angelo knew Liun, nor would he know if Angelo would recognise any of the mannerisms that Isstar had. Although he outwardly seemed colder than Liun, how he talked and held himself, even his expressions, were so familiar to Liun. Not to mention that Isstar essentially looked like a younger version of him.

"Pretty standard for here," Angelo said, not at all bothered by the comment that his name was weird. Isstar was a weird name to him, but he guessed that everyone felt names from other cultures were weird. "Italian. Angelo is messenger or angel, and Genovese is literally someone from Genoa." Having a last name like that made tracing family history really easy. Or it would have if he was back in Halcyon.

"Well, long story short," Angelo said after a moment's pause, "I kind of realized that a lot of people on the islets don't have many people waiting for them outside. I imagine you have family, but for people who are effectively starting on the islets, it's not like you've got friends outside. I brought it up to someone I know, and then we talked with the staff here, and they said they were actually looking for people to come socialize as a kind of pilot program. So you have familiar faces once you're out."

In so many words: We're hoping someone could make friends.

Angelo hadn't yet made any direct connection. He knew Liun, but not closely, and any resemblance he'd simply chalked up to a general family similarity. A lot of the Rukt'ins looked kind of similar to him, and while he might have worked out Isstar was a Rukt'in (or one of the offshoot families), anything beyond that would probably require a level of familiarity he didn't have.

If none of them had mentioned him, he probably wasn't too close.

Isstar looked at Angelo carefully in an attempt to get some kind of read on him. It had been something he had been trying to do a bit more ever since he met Quie. She seemed to be able to get such a clear read on Isstar, and he couldn't understand how or why. But, he hadn't quite grasped it was much less she was good at reading people than it was Isstar was terrible are hiding emotions or thoughts. "I see. Well, any name is sounding weird for me, for now. Even my own." Isstar would shrug casually. Even with him officially having a name now, he would have to remind himself of it and consciously make an effort to be able to realise someone would be speaking to him if they said it. "I dunno what mine means. Thiul suggested it and I thought it sounded alright." A fairly simple reason for why he chose his name. He just thought it sounded cool enough.

But for now, Isstar kept his arms crossed, an eyebrow raised as he listened to his explanation. The more Angelo spoke, the more Isstar narrowed his eyes. "Pity, then?" He responded dryly. That would explain the growing irritated look that had appeared on Isstar's face. His pride as a dragon... as an individual, made him immediately bitter at the idea people would just visit him out of pity. He understood that this was all to get him to interact more, but for it to be based on pity from the other end was just something he couldn't exactly agree with.

"Whatever. I'll take it over forced conversations. Only just, though." For a moment, he would glare at Angelo. But, thankfully, there were no signs to indicate he would attack. That would only hinder Isstar's efforts in getting out of the islets. But, even Isstar knew this situation would get awkward if the conversation didn't move on. "So, Angelo. What happened to your arm?" Unfortunately, Isstar didn't know that changing the topic to another possibly sensitive or awkward conversation wasn't the correct path. Once again, he lacked a filter and had a lot of curiosity about things he didn't know about.

Isstar. It wasn't as if Angelo knew the language he spoke, so if there was any meaning behind it, it was lost on him. All he could think of was Ishtar, and there was almost definitely no relation between the two names. Just a similarity in sound.

He hadn't expected his stuff to be taken as pity, and he paused for a moment, letting it sink in. Was it pity? Maybe. Or he supposed it was, but he felt that framing it as pity was being dishonest.

"Framing it as pity makes it sound negative," Angelo said after a moment. "I prefer to think of it as compassion. If I had been in your situation, with no one to come visit me, I'd have been happy for..."

Angelo trailed off for a moment. It hadn't occurred to him, but he supposed he had a similar enough experience: Sitting in the hospital, in and out of consciousness, unable to be visited by anyone but a select few. The misery and desperate hope that he would wake to find his father at his bedside, and the bitter disappointment when it never came true.

He shook away the thought, dragging his attention back to Isstar right in time for him to ask about that very thing.

"Probably not the best question to ask for a first conversation," Angelo admitted, "but I don't mind talking about it. I was..." He paused a moment, trying to find the right words, "I was caught in an explosion. It nearly killed me, and it cost me most of my arm. I was lucky. The silver on my face is from the same thing."

Isstar scowled some more as Angelo attempted to explain his being there further. Compassion? To Isstar, it just sounded like another fancy word for pity. Of course, he knew the meaning of the word. But it didn't exactly change the fact that Isstar didn't feel like he was suffering or anything. In the end, he decided not to speak more on that matter and instead just huffed to himself.

Then came the answer to Isstar's question. The moment he saw the arm and metal, Isstar had been curious since he had never seen anything like it. But it wasn't exactly as Isstar expected. So, the metal arm was a replacement for his lost arm? Injuries such as that could be fixed then. Well, Isstar wasn't worried about that since his regeneration meant he could heal lost limbs. Although it would take a while.

He nodded along, a thoughtful look on his face. "So is it robotic or something? I've heard that stuff like that exists, but technology being used for those kinda things don't really make sense to me anyways. Eh, well lots of things are new and weird to me anyway. Curse of being less than 6 months old I guess." Isstar shrugged as he spoke. Being a new living being to this world, he found practically everything to be new to him. Most of that he found to be weird.

"It's robotic," Angelo confirmed, reaching down to press his fingers in just the right place, pulling back a small panel to expose the circuitry. "It's actually hooked up to my real flesh-and-blood nervous system, so that I can get tactile feedback. If I touch something, I can feel it, just like a real arm."

He didn't leave his wires exposed for long, pressing the panel back into place to seal it up.

Of course, he couldn't not ask.

"Are you actually only six months old? They didn't really tell me your, uh, situation."

Isstar stared as Angelo revealed the circuitry. Although Isstar only had hazy knowledge on technology, especially something like engineering, he could still appreciate the complexity of the arm. In a way, he admired whoever made it. Isstar's in built awareness of technology was basically its use by those who created him. To see it be used in such a way was something he couldn't think of, but he had to appreciate. However, such appreciation also made him want to poke at the exposed wiring. But before he could do anything, Angelo sealed it back up. Isstar's vague disappointment was shown by a slight slump in his shoulders. "So you can feel like a regular hand? That's pretty amazing." There was no mocking or sarcastic tone in his voice, just genuinely impressed.

At being told Angelo hadn't been informed of his situation, Isstar raised an eyebrow. "Really? Nothing? Feels like a dumb thing to do, in my opinion." He didn't bother to hide the slight irritating in his voice. It had felt like it took an eternity to explain his own circumstances to various different people at different points, so Isstar didn't exactly appreciate they didn't at least explain the basics to someone. Although it did make sense, since he had a right to keep that hidden. Isstar just didn't feel the need to, however.

"Younger. I was born on the 30th of January, so between 2... 3, or 4, months old now." There was a bored tone to his voice, like he had explained this quite a few times. "I'm a clone, well it's more accurate to say copy than clone. So I didn't hatch like other dragons, I'm technically not a 'real' Rukt'In but they decided to accept me anyway." He kinda looked away from Angelo as he spoke of being accepted as a Rukt'In. It was something that still confused him, as to why they decided to accept him.

"Yep," Angelo confirmed. "I used to have a... magical prosthetic. But the feeling wasn't the same as a flesh-and-blood hand, and any tactile feedback was slightly delayed. Touching something and than a quarter of a second later getting the feeling might sound like not much of a big deal, but your brain notices it and screams."

It hadn't been pleasant. Even after months with it, he'd still hated the delay and avoided touching things with it. He'd been lucky it had been his non-dominant arm, but he still tended to heavily favor his right arm for things.

"A clone..." Angelo said, before letting out a small laugh. "I wonder if that's why they picked me. I'm not a clone, but I'm from another dimension, so there's two of me here. My other self is... older. So I guess similar enough."

He paused for a long moment, realizing he might very well know Isstar's original. He hadn't guessed to begin with, but then he'd had no reason to assume he was anything but another Rukt'in. Now that he knew...

Angelo pondered, looking Isstar over, considered what he knew...

"Your original is Liun, I guess...?" He'd gone missing, hadn't he? And the timeline about lined up... Well, not quite. Hadn't Liun gotten back around then?
