It was a rather slow Saturday afternoon and Ivana, the fire chief of one of Manta Carlos's largest fire stations, was just washing and polishing the outside of one of the smaller fire engines. The station, itself, had just had two call-outs that morning, and only one of them was even really fire-related. The first had been a small city bus-private vehicle smash-up, where they had been called out to help passengers out of the bus and prevent any accidental damage from leaking fuel tanks. The second call-out had been, unsurprisingly, at least for the station, a small kitchen fire at one of the local restaurants that had had problems in the past with proper kitchen ventilation.
All-in-all it had been a quiet and fairly enjoyable day, and Ivana was in a good mood.
