"Of course not." stated Candle rather bluntly against Ganymede's concerns as they observed them conjuring three luminous balls of blue flame. Such a test was the best way for them to gauge Ganymede's power as well as control over his abilities. Plus it wasn't the first time they were used as target practice.

It seemed their assurance was all Ganymede needed to test his resolve. In quick succession he fired of the projectiles in Candle's direction whom continued to stand firm. While they could easily change the course of each flame or even snuff them out as they rapidly approach, that wasn't the point of this exercise. They allowed each to make impact against them, the first striking their face making head jerk unnaturally far back. The second exploded in into their gut while the final veered just a little too far to her right and was forced to catch it with their hand. The moment they had grasped upon it it detonated in their held palm like a small overcooked grenade.

Though the whole thing seemed extremely violent, Candle's head snapped back into place and inspected their glove. As they promised, Candle was perfectly unharmed with not even the dainty clothing they were wearing appearing the least bit scuffed.

"Respectable. Good form and technique Ganymede." unceremoniously congratulated Candle as they walk up to Ganymede. As they do so, they slowly closes the hand that was struck earlier into fist before it returns it to her side. Now closer to Ganymede they then cautioned "But you must be more consistent with your aim and take the time to properly will your fire to make its proper mark instead of unleashing it so quickly. An unwieldy flame is as much danger to yourself as it is for anyone else"

Ganymede seemed to regret everything when Candle reacted to the hits like... that. He was terrified that he had actually hurt her. But of course, she was fine.

Relief washed over him, followed by a little bit of delight at her praise. Though, now he needed to be lectured on the importance of a good aim. "Yes, ma'am," he said, and bowed slightly. "I'll be sure to work on that." But when he thought about it - there weren't a lot of ways he could do that, safely. He might start a much bigger fire, and that wouldn't be good at all. And if he just went out into the forest to practice, that would be irresponsible. That was how forest fires happened.

Gany had heard, earlier, of a far-off exotic land called 'California' which one of its former residents claimed was 'always on fire' because of people doing things like that. He didn't want to turn the island into a California.

"...Where would be a good place to work on that?"

Candle nods as Ganymede seems to take in their words in earnest. As being of fire they understood its mechanics well for fire is alive and the moment one forgets that fact is the moment it comes to bite them. While Ganymede has taken this lesson well and reflects on ways to better their ability, they seem to quietly contemplate something. When he at last asked them best place to practice they already knew the answer: no where. But they could think of good enough places where Ganymede may train in relative safety to both himself and their surroundings.

"Anywhere devoid of anything combustive as possible with precautions at the ready in case of an incident. Spaces made of stone, concrete, metal and other fireproof materials should suffice. And they should be well ventilated and equipment such as a fire extinguisher nearby just in case. Ideally you would have someone else standing by. Preferably one such as myself whom can manipulate fire or at the very least immune to its effects, just in case an intervention is needed. I believe your school has facilities dedicated just for such purpose as I also presume some training centers equipped for such activities. But be aware that no matter what safety measures are employed, a hungry flame is an ever-present danger and the safest way in dealing with it is to have complete control of one's abilities."

After her lengthy answer, they stare at Ganymede for a moment before adding.

"Does that answer suffice?"

((As a Californian I can concur that this exotic place is indeed always on fire))

That was... extensive. But Ganymede got most of it. He nodded vigorously. "Yes ma'am! I'll be extra careful so I don't hurt anyone or start a big fire. It's a dangerous power so I need to treat it with respect."

He smiled up at her. He really just wamted her to be proud of him. That was a big reason why he was demonstrating his control over, and respect for, the dangerous force of nature she represented.

"Good. That makes you already halfway better than half of the novice practitioners whom use fire magicks." commented Candle, something that they wish was an exaggeration but many people whom are just learning magic tend to grow careless and forget the magnitude of their power. It was good to see that Ganymede won't fall into the that dangerous trap, so long as he abide by those words.

"Now then, will that be all for today Ganymede?" inquired Candle, unsure if they wanted to practice more or if they had some other question relating to control over fire. It was subject they were well versed in after all.

Halfway better than half? That meant he was at least in the top 25%, which was really good! Gany smiled at the praise. Lukewarm though Candle's tone may have been, it was much more than he usually got out of her.

Thanks to Candle, Ganymede had another thing to ask about. "Well... I thought that rose you made out of fire earlier was really beautiful! Can you teach me how to do things like that?"

Candle tilts their head a little to side, processing Ganymede's words for a moment. They then hold out palm and creates a fiery rose between their fingers.

"Something like this correct? I suppose that would depend on multitude of factors. Factors such as the source your magic, your ability to fine tune your control, how determined you are and my willingness to teach." stated Candle as stares at Ganymede, considering for a moment.

"I draw directly from the plane of fire itself. Fire for me is but an extension of myself as are your limbs are an extension of you. Thus what works for me may not work for you. Nevertheless, I can still assist in helping you emulate my techniques. Though the process will not be exactly the same, its effect should visually similar. If that is acceptable we can practice whenever you are comfortable to learn. It can be now or can be something for later time if you so desire."
