Keira had just returned from grocery shopping. She had several bags in her hand as she fumbled with her key to unlock her front door. With a huff of exasperation, Keira had to set a few bags of groceries on the ground and balance others on her arm so she could open her door.
She'd been out all day doing errands, keeping mostly to herself. Her brother hadn't let her live down the whole neighbor thing, predictably. Neither had Nero, for that matter. It weighed on her a little, though Keira would have liked to pretend it wasn't.
Luckily, the days were cooler, and the gloomy atmosphere was strangely comforting. Life looked like something out of a high-end painting and she could have spent hours watching the dark clouds and sky.
