Finding the Cheer in the Cheer Squad

It had been a little over a week or so since Bel had seen or heard anything from, Aisha, the Cheer Squads team captain, and her friend. The first time Aisha had missed group practice, Bel hadn't given it too much thought. However when she failed to show up for the game, leaving Bel along with her teammates scrambling to modify the routine and handle it the best they could was when she started to become somewhat worried.

In fact, everything had just been a niggling sense of unease until Bel had talked to Patty and found out that she too had not seen Aisha lately, and that inhabitants from the floodplains had been seen arriving on the island. A fact which definitely troubled Bel - she knew Aisha had had some problems with her parents, and now she had a bad feeling the arrival of the floodplains people and Aisha's disappearance were somehow related.

Deciding that something needed to be done, Bel asked (among others) the other members of the cheer squad to meet her after last class at a trendy diner located down by the wharf to discuss the disappearance of their team leader and also see if anyone knew anything about her whereabouts.

As the girls arrived, Bel waved them over to the table she was sitting at. She smiled at each of them individually as they sat down and asked each girl how they were doing and then if they wanted anything to eat or drink. She was having a plate of fries with gravy and a vanilla milkshake, her Britishness shining through as she added vinegar and salt to her potatoes.

"Hello, Aedes, glad you could make it," Bel greeted her teammate calmly, knowing what she was like and simply ignoring her snarkiness. "The food here, especially the milkshakes, are really good. And they cater to special diets," she informed her.

"Eliza, Kaya, did you two want anything before we get down to business?" she asked them again quite purposefully.

Once everyone had placed their orders - which were served to them almost immediately thanks to the benefits of food industry magic - Bel listened to Eliza's question and then nodded before answering. "Hopefully, that we won't need to do that," she told the group.

"But originally, the chain of command was Aisha, Konpeito and then me.." she explained as she turned her milkshake around in her hands. "However, now that Aisha is AWOL, and Kon is no longer part of the squad, I guess I am in charge until she comes back... which will be soon hopefully," she confessed as she looked at each of the girls in turn.

"I was also wondering if any of you had talked to Aisha at all, or have any idea of where she might be at the moment?' Bel asked her teammates, wondering if she was just imagining the lowkey feeling she was having right now that something was not right.
