"Right this way, my dear, Miss Forestier," Mr. Parsons said kindly as he politely held open the door to the department store.

"Your challenge should be here soon. The second floor, I believe," he said as he took Celeste by the arm as any gentlemen might do and escorted her to the second floor of Manta Carlos's main department store. A place where you could find almost anything for anyone anywhere. The store was, quite truly, a place that rivaled any store, shop or boutique in New York, London or Tokyo.

Wind's Respite was nice, but she wasn't terribly interested in the whole competition. That was fine with Angelo, who wasn't terribly interested himself, but had been awful for Jude, who seemed to be going at the whole tournament with an absolutely insane degree of focus.

Angelo, on the other hand, hadn't done even a single challenge, and the one against Miss Forestier--a teacher at the school, apparently--was going to be his first.

They'd set the whole thing up online, and Angelo had readily agreed with no small amount of ulterior motive. He liked to think he was decent at figuring out gifts, but it took forever. If he could get suggestions from someone with more experience, why not? He'd take the loss.

He spotted her coming mostly by virtue of her regalia, and he gave them a small wave. Wind's Respite opted to curtsy instead, giving them both a polite smile.

"So. What rules are we going for, exactly?"

"Officer Genovese, so very nice to see you again," Celeste said with a friendly smile as she approached with Mr. Parsons at her side.

"I was thinking that maybe we could pick three people we have problems buying for. Describe each one to each other, including the person's likes and dislikes, and see if the other can suggest something, or things, the other might like," Celeste explained.

"If we are really off base with our suggestions, or you know that that person would simply hate the option, or options suggested, then that's a fail. It is bang on, it can be a pass, and it the suggestion is a maybe, then we could say it's also a pass?"

"Does that sound fair? Or perhaps you prefer something else?" Celeste asked Angelo, wanting to hear his thoughts on the matter. The teacher in her always aware that others may have different ideas than the ones she had.

"That sounds fair," Angelo said, considering that. "So, three each. Most successes win. What are we going to do if we get three successes?" That seemed like a very real possibility to him, and Wind's Respite paused to consider a moment before moving over to stand beside Celeste's Regalia.

"It seems our companions are already familiar with each other," she said. "but my name is the Regalia of Wind's Respite. I haven't yet chosen a name from this realm... I'm afraid I'm a bit too fond of my own."

Celeste chuckled at that, "I didn't consider that option, how about we call it a draw if that happens? Or we can simply agree that we are great gift choosers, and offer to drag each other along when we need to go Christmas shopping?" she suggested with a grin.

Mr. Parsons bowed his head a little in greeting and smiled warmly at the other regalia. "A pleasure, Wind's Respite. I have not actually told my partner my real name either. She must prove herself worthy of that privilege..." he confided. "Names have power, as I'm sure you already know, and one must earn and prove that they are worthy of that power," he added sure that Wind's Respite understood him perfectly.

"Oh, don't get me wrong," Angelo said. "You're already doing all my gift shopping for me. Or most of it." He cracked a grin in return. "You want to start? Describe someone, and I'll see what I can recommend."

Wind's Respite raised her eyebrows, looking ever so slightly surprised at what she was hearing. Yes, names had power, but to pact with someone and yet not even tell them your name? It seemed strangely scandalous to her.

"Mr. Genovese is quite polite, so I can't say I have much to complain about. At this point I think I'd be satisfied with giving him my blessing if he so much as invited me over for a pie."

"I am, am I?" Celeste stated, now laughing at Angelo's confession. "Christmas shopping can't be that bad, can it?" she added just smiling at that.

"Okay," Celeste said agreeing to go first as she then thought for a second, deciding to start with her father.

"It's a man, old in age and mannerisms, but not appearance. He likes to dress conservatively. He's big on family values, respect, honesty. He likes the finer things in life, like good whiskey, food, things made with quality, heart... Like custom, or handmade, one of a kind things. He also is not big on things. He is not materialistic. Any gift should be able to be used in some way. He hates things that have no purpose or use." she said, realizing then that her father was actually a harder man than she thought to buy for.

"Your partner does seem quite pleasant," Mr. Parsons said with a nod, "Miss Forestier is also very warm and kind. She actually lets me tag around everywhere. I don't actually think she realises she can tell me not to follow her." he admitted with a chuckle.

"Did you know she actually took me on a date the other day?" he told Wind's Respite with a grin, as he watched his partner warmly.

"Last Christmas," Angelo confessed, "I had more than twelve people living with me, most of which were kids I barely knew but had to play father to. Figuring out what they already had was hard enough, let alone what they wanted."

Angelo considered her proposal. Really, the description she'd given was very similar to the Don, which made things a lot easier to think about. People over possessions.

"My first instinct is utilitarian gifts. Something like a wireless charger so he doesn't have to mess around with cords, and can just drop his phone down on the charger. But with someone like him, I think he would prefer an experience. Find a professional chef who'd do a day. Who'd cook in front of them. And then invite his whole family over to be with him and enjoy the experience. But for a real gift... You can basically earmark alcohols as yours. Normally they'll inscribe the barrel for you. So you can say 'Forestier Family Christmas, 2018' on the barrel, and then give it a few years and all drink it together when it's done aging. Makes a great celebration, with the promise of another celebration in the future. Helps bring back memories."

Wind's Respite raised an eyebrow, looking slightly scandalized. "And you just tagged along and didn't give them their privacy?"

"Wow... I take that back, you DO need help with Christmas," she said laughed, amazed he had survived 12 people, most of them kids, last Christmas. Although, if she were honest, she rather envied the idea of such a Christmas.

"While the phone charger is way off the mark, the experience idea of a chef and the earmarked alcohol sound perfect for him. I'd have to say that you definitely deserve a pass on that one."

"Your turn, let's see if I can suggest something as well as you have for me," Celeste said, very interested now in what he might tell her.

"Oh, of course. I left almost immediately, I just wanted to see who had caught Miss Forestier eye," he admitted, glancing at Wind's Respite as he added, "I am a bit of a romantic you might say. Humans fascinate me sometimes."

Who needed gifts?

"Young woman. Just married, moved in with her husband. He owns a restaurant, so anything food or kitcheny is probably out. But she's actually pregnant right now, and they'll have a little kid... probably around Christmas. So I thought about getting a family gift, but I think I want to give her something just for her. Incomes a bit tight for them right now. She's big into reaper stuff, death magic, and getting into trouble and causing me stress."

Angelo paused to consider, and then shrugged.

"Sorry my description isn't as good as yours."

Wind's Respite seemed to relax.

"Humans are interesting," they said. "Although I'm happy you didn't play the third wheel."
