Natasha smiled, grateful and so very glad she had met Eve. It had been such a long time since she had been able to connect with somebody on a friendship level. A sexual level was easy, but there was rarely a real connection there. And most times, her lovers and her ended up quickly parting ways.

"I'd love to help you paint..." she said with a shy smile, very honoured at such a request as an artist she knew that allowing another as part of your creative process was a very big deal. It was like intruding on ones most private thoughts at times.

Getting up, Natasha walked over to the canvas Eve was talking about. She stared at it for a long moment and then smiled. The painting was filled with so much emotion, she could see it in each brush stroke in the way it caught the light, the play on shadows. "It's - it's so raw... so full of emotion, Eve... I don't know if I could, or should touch it." she confessed feeling like she was trespassing on something very personal.

Hiatus
Eve appreciated the fact that Natasha recognized his emotions in the painting, that she thought them sacred enough to hesitate. It meant she cared, and Eve was deeply grateful for that. He stood up and walked by Natasha, also observing the painting. He wanted to see, what Natasha could bring to it, how she would immortalize part of her on the canvas, mix her feelings with Eve's. He smiled a bit, gently, at Natasha and set a light hand on her shoulder.
"I would never offer this if I did not wish for you to help me complete this piece. As your friend I'm asking you, please help me help you lighten your burden."
Eve nodded and handed Natasha a palette and a brush.
"Please show me a part of you with these paints."

Natasha looked up at Eve when she felt his hand reassuringly on her shoulder, still so unsure, not wanting to ruin his work in any way, but when he held the palette of paints out to her she felt herself reaching out to take them. She then looked down at the colours in consideration and then up at the half-finished canvas deciding where and how to start. That was always the hard part for her - the beginning. Nodding thoughtfully after a minute, Natasha mixed two colours off to one side of the palette and then began to add stroke after stroke to his painting, filling in or highlighting parts of his work, adding little touches here and there as she let herself be guided by Eve's emotions while adding her own turbulent ones.

After a while, maybe an hour or more of painting her emotions, Natasha stepped back, tired like, but somewhat better. Surprised actually when she stopped and stared at the canvas before her, feeling quite emotional too when she looked at it now. It was weirdly dark, but emotional, the colours she had added were not cheery, but it seemed to work very well with what Eve had started.

"What do you think?" she asked Eve with uncertainty, afraid he'd be angry or just not like what she had done to his artwork.

Eve smiled slightly when Natasha reached out and took the paints, relieved she had decided to take up his offer. Eve took a slight step back, giving Natasha space to gather her thoughts and emotions. He himself knew how hard starting could be, but Eve had patience, especially when it came to his friends.
As Natasha after a minute began to paint Eve observed quietly, trying to make his presence as unnoticeable as possible so he wouldn't bother Natasha's creative process. He followed with fascination and joy how Natasha unloaded her emotions on the canvas, how she immortalized a part of herself as part of the background Eve had provided. Somehow he was touched by this, that she and Natasha now shared this landscape of emotion.
After an hour or so Natasha finished, and Eve stepped to her side to observe the painting. He was very impressed, moved even, by the mood Natasha had added to his originally melancholy painting. It wasn't indeed a very cheery work, it was in fact quite dark, but...
"It's beautiful."
Eve turned to Natasha and his smile was slightly wider than usual, and his eyes were full of sincerity and even gratitude.
"Very beautiful, Natasha. Thank you, for completing this landscape with me."
