Oh there was far more to Aura than met the eye. Far, far too much more in her opinion. But this was a doctor asking. You're supposed to be honest with a doctor, or so she had been taught over and over.

"It's...," she paused and exhaled slowly. Not looking back up at his face. "Probably better to show than tell." She sounded defeated. Hate was a strong word, but she really didn't enjoy the freakish additions the eldritch parasite had 'gifted' her when it grafted onto her body.

Aura begrudgingly hopped off the table to stand up and answered his question in a pretty horrific fashion. Pretty much her entire body became an asymmetrical, disturbing array of angry yellow eyes and toothy mouths. And then multiple long grey tendrils slipped out of her back to wiggle around and rest against the table, the floor and anything within reach. One of them though coiled around her waist like she was trying to comfort herself.

"It's all over" she replied with many mouths at once.

Stunned shock was, quite easily, an understatement. Vladimir had never seen anything quite like it. Sure, he had had patients with oddities like Milo Bennett, or had to tend to emergency patients that had been horrifically cursed or had a spell go wrong, but none of them had quite prepared him for Aura and her predicament.

In fact, Vladimir was so disconcerted and concerned for Aura's well being, that at first, he did not quite know what to say when the young werewolf sat back down.

"I am very sorry, Aura. I was not aware that it was that extensive," Vladimir said apologetically.

"Can you possibly tell me how it happened and whether it affects you when you transform during the full moon?" he asked her very gently.

To Aura the silence was absolutely deafening. She knew the cause. She was secretly a terrible monster despite what she and her therapist and Hella and all her friends said. The true effect of her extra bits was horror and discomfort. For herself perhaps even more so than anyone who beheld it.

But he was a doctor. He had to know. So she showed him and then forced every bit of the weirdness to go away again. Everything except the patch on her face that would never go away. And she slumped back onto the exam table.

It wasnt going to be one of her better days, apparently. And the necessary questions afterwards were just as painful but she knew it was necessary. Maybe she should have reconsidered and asked someone to come with her.

But she forced herself to look back up, with dampness around her eyes. "I um remember too little and also too much about when it happened. I was really little and umnrunning in the woods before the full moon night when I found the weird rock. I... I um, didnt know something would crawl out and..." she didnt continue that statement. She refused to relive that terror. Instead she just pointed at her double eye. The patch of permanent eldritch features. "My wolf form is all broken and terrifying too. It's too big to show you here and um, I'm not sure I could stomach it right now anyways."

"It's fine, and not at all necessary," Vladimir assured Aura. "I just needed to make sure everything was alright and that I understood a little better your current situation."

"It quite honestly sounds like something has aggravated the parasite you are carrying," he said after a brief moment where he was quiet and thoughtful.

"My best guess, without doing any tests to confirm my suspicions, is that you, like so many others on the island, have been affected by the surge of magic that we had," he explained.

Aura hugged herself with her arms as she nodded along. The timing of the symptoms did make that theory pretty viable. The trouble was.. what did that mean for her?

"Um if that's true- I know you don't know for sure yet or anything, does that mean it will go away? Or am I just stuck with feeling sick and having stuff pop out when I don't want it to? Doctor, I um. I'm scared. I spent so long finding myself. I have friends and roommates and... a girlfriend," she pauses for a moment as her face tinges with a blush. "I don't want to lose them."

She wiped her face and then took a deep breath. "Sorry. Sorry. I know this is supposed to be about medical things. What's um, next for me?"

Almost instantly Vladimir felt bad for Aura when he saw how upset and scared she was, and he hoped that he might be able to reassure her.

"Personally, I do not think it will affect you permanently," Vladimir said as he handed Aura a box of tissues. "And if I had to guess, I'd say that as soon as the magic levels stabilize, your body will slowly settle back down again," he told her.

"In the meantime, I'd tell you to focus on things that you find relaxing, do not stress yourself, sleep or rest s much as you can, and eat well. Even if you aren't hungry, try to keep your body nourished," he suggested.

She accepted the box of tissues and cleaned herself up- though only the one eye seemed to have tears falling from it anyway. But she looked up at the doctor with hope in her expression. "You really think so? I um, don't know a lot about magic."

The advice was probably something Hella or one of her friends would have told her. Had been telling her. But coming from a doctor made it more... official. "Ok. I um, probably stress myself out too much sometimes anyway. Do you think I should tell my girlfriend? I um...," she hesitates as her face flushes again, "I usually feel more relaxed when i'm with her. Oh.... I mean, not like that, just being around her." She appeared to get flustered as she realized her description could have meant something a bit more involved than she had intended.

"It's fine," Vladimir said with a smile. "Even if it was the other, I'd still say yes," he replied kindly.

"Spend as much time as you want with your girlfriend, Aura. If she makes you feel better, and her presence is calming and helps you relax, then you have my medical blessing," he joked.

"Seriously though, I do think it's just a matter of time. Give it a few weeks, if you are still feeling bad, come back and we can run some tests and look into it further," he stated.

"I'd offer you a prescription for a very mild sedative when you are feeling overly anxious, but I am not sure it will help," he added as he looked at her file again to double-check.

Aura was not able to make eye contact. She was far too embarrassed. But she nodded. "Thank you. No offense but I um, hope I dont have to come back." She shyly smile at that.

The other question though she had to shake her head. "It has to be something really um, strong to work on me. There should be notes about what they um, used on the islets to calm me down." She winced at the mentioning of that. It had been a long time since that was necessary.

"And I sincerely hope you don't need to come back either," Vladimir said, completely understanding Aura's sentiments.

Taking a look through Aura's medical file, he found what they have given to her during her stay at the islets and nodded as he wrote out a prescription.

"I've written you a prescription for the same antianxiety medication you were taking before. It's a "just in case" thing," he explained as he passed Aura the script. "I'd recommend that you only take it when you are feeling overanxious or before bed if you are having trouble sleeping." he said as he got to his feet.

"If you need anything or have any questions, please don't hesitate to give us a call," he told her as he opened the door and waited to escort her out or answer any last questions she might have.
