"Sort of just existing I suppose." admits Ankh as she slides the half full wine glass away from herself as she tries to limit herself "At the moment I do not work, not that I need to. My belongings given to me as ancient tribute was worth quite a fortune. That which I did not care for I sold so that I could afford nice and secure residence to store my remaining belongings as well as safeguard the Pharaoh's treasures. Still I have been on the lookout for something to preoccupy me. But when your made for a singular purpose... and one done dutifully for so long... its difficult finding meaning in any other occupation."

It was subject that weighed heavily on her mind. Who was she now that she was no longer a tomb guardian? Sure it was lonesome and at times she wished she had someone with her but that sense of divine purpose was what kept her going for thousands of years! And now that was taken away... she felt as though she was but discarded tool. That spar with Daenmor really sparked something in her though... that first true feeling of life since her arrival here. Made her wonder if it was though: a genuine attraction to Daenmor? Or was that she found dragons seductive? Or... maybe it was the wine starting to kick in.

"So... since money is of no concern, I spend much of time just... trying to catch up with the times and figure out a new purpose in my life. Heh. What of you? How you occupy yourself in your free time?"

"Got myself a rich girl here, huh?" Daenmor said with a grin as he took a break from his wine to drink some water. "That's nice. Real nice. Though I can't say I get the whole... what you were made for, status bullshit. Never really rang true for me."

But now the question was reflected back at Daen and he answered with a casual shrug.

"I go drinking. Haven't had a lot to do on the island since I got out of prison, but I'll figure it out. Used to like fixing up old cars, but there don't seem to be too much use for that here. Public transportation and walking seems to be what most people do. I've also been known to be a heartbreaker in my time," he added with a grin as he put his chin in his hand, elbow firmly on the table.

"Mhmmm... sounds like we are both but trying to figure out our place in this brave new world." remarked Ankh. It was interesting that he, like herself, was in a predicament of what what their place was on the island. He spoke of fixing those automatic carriages that she has seen trying around in the streets... as well as having only recently coming out of prison. She would have to pry about that later. For the moment, she takes an index finger and rubs it along the lip of the wine glass she was drinking out of.

"You are pleasing on the eye to look upon I can understand ladies... disappointment when it never seemed to work out. Who wouldn't desire hold onto a catch like yourself?" teased the sphinx with playful smirk. Though someone openly admitting themselves should be seen as warning, for her she thought that perhaps he just hasn't met the right sort of girl.

"Well as much as I would love to join you for drinks sometime but-" Ankh for slight dramatic effect before continuing "... I am... well... what you may call a lightweight when it comes to alcohols. And when I get drunk well... there is no moving me when I pass out. In fact this wine here is already making me feel a bit tipsy as it is and I rather not burden you with having to drag me back to my place."

Ankh then retracts her finger that was perched on the wine glass, bringing her hand to her mouth to hold back a chuckle. Closes her eyes and sharply inhales before opening her right eye to look straight at Daenmor before her gaze lingers to the hand he was resting on.

"But... maybe instead I can watch you work on one of these... automated carts sometime. Their inner workings are strange mechanisms to me still and I would like to see how... handy you are with such machines." said Ankh, purring her words at the end.

"It was hard to stick around and hold onto a relationship out in the normal world. When I don't age like a human, I couldn't exactly stick around." Daenmor gave a shrug and kept eating. The food was starting to grow on him more as the meal wore on. But maybe that was the wine and the good conversation going along with it.

He grinned slightly at the comment about being a lightweight and quirked an eyebrow at Ankh, "Am I going to have to carry you tonight? Because I think my place might be closer than yours. So I could always take you there instead."

"I'm kidding. Mostly," he admitted with s bit of a laugh. Though, if he was being honest he actually was enjoying that it didn't seem like he was going to get laid on a first date. Something that hadn't happened in a long time. "If love to show you how I repair a car. I'll have to get my hands on one first though."

As their meal neared its end, Daenmor found himself in that comfortable level of drunkenness where he wasn't going to go off the rails and fist fight anyone, but he was just enough off edge that he wasn't going to lose his temper and fist fight anyone.

That was understandable, in the world outside it would be difficult to maintain such lasting and meaningful relationships with mortals considering the issue of longevity. Daenmor seem amused by her admission of being a light-weight, poking fun on how he might have to carry her back to his place were she black out. Though he admit it was but a jest, part of her was curious of the wyverns living accommodations.

"Mostly?" inquired Ankh with sly smirk "Well sadly for you, it will take more than half a glass of wine to keep me off my four feet. Maybe a full glass would do it... but I rather see where a dragon makes their roost when I am sober."

As she finishes her meal, Ankh she takes her napkin, dabs her mouth, and sets it on top of her empty plate. She thanked a passing waiting who took the empty plates and left them the check for the meal. Ankh eyes the check for a moment, then looks to Daenmor as she gives him pleasant smile.

"I have to say this has been a rather pleasant way to end the day Daenmor. We should do this again sometime. I see you look quite content with yourself."

"Oh I'm pretty damn pleased if I say so myself. I had a great fight. Took a pretty lady out to dinner," he said as he pulled out the month to pay the bill, setting it aside for the server to come take.

"All in all, a productive night." He paused as he stood to leave, offering his arm to Ankh for her to take. She did say she was a little tipsy after all. "Ready to go? I'll walk you home and you can think about me until you fall asleep," he added, cracking a grin and winking at her.

"I believe so" said Ankh as she pulls herself off the cushions, then smiles to her receptive date. She accepts Daenmor's offered arm and hooks her arm with his, purposely tugging him close to her side as though laying claim on him.

"Oh I will have my thoughts on you dragon when I rest. I'm sure you will be dreaming of me exclusively tonight~" chuckled the lioness as she were led out the door. Her tail happily swaying from side to side while the waiter cleans up the table for the next prospective couple waiting for seat.

"Oh I'll certainly be thinking about you while I'm in bed," Daenmor replied with a laugh as the two of them left together. He picked a path through the park, taking his time to stroll with Ankh for as long as he could stretch it out. But eventually all things would end. He took her to her home, stopping outside and putting his hands in his pockets with a shrug.

"Well I've been saying it... but I had a really pleasant evening. I don't know what you think about it, but I'd like to do this some other time. Fuckin'... ya know, see where this thing goes?"

Daenmor's provocative remark left a content smirk on the sphinx's face. The two took their amble time walking in the late eve of local park for neither were in particular hurry to depart from one another's company. Side by side they walked those paths, making some idle chatter along the way before at last the road comes to and end at Ankh's residence.

As Daenmor stood there shrugging his shoulders and brought up talks doing this again sometime. See how things turn out to which she agreed, for she enjoy spending time with Daenmor as much as he had with her.

"As did I. For what I think, I think would very much like to do this again." answered Ankh, hand gently strokes along the length of one of Daenmor arms before it slips back to her side "I'll give you a call on the phone and... well as you said, see where this thing goes from there and call it a date."
