Cosette pushed the library doors open, and although she had been there before she just had to stop and marvel at the interior. She loved how the place looked, it was homey and invited you to sit down, calm down and read.
Cosette breathed in, out, and then headed to the bookshelves. Cosette wasn't most knowledgeable about the system used in the library, but she was confident that she'd be able to find the classic literature shelf.
That confidence had entirely depleted 10 minutes later, when Cosette was somehow by the science section and completely lost. Cosette let out a sigh, she should've known better than to trust her own navigational skills. Cosette might've been partly a migratory bird but she was hopeless with directions.
Cosette looked around, looking for anyone that might be able to guide her. And she saw her saviour, a person in a black robe with a book cart. They must've been a member of the staff. Cosette smiled and walked towards the person with a brisk pace.
"Excuse me, could you tell me where-? Ah!"
Cosette started to say as she approached the person, but her steps had been too brisk and her eyes hadn't been on the ground. Thus, she stumbled on a book that was jutting out from the shelf and fell forward and right against the book cart next to the person in a black robe. Cosette caused several books to fall on the floor, and she quickly scrambled upright and gasped.
"Oh dear, I'm ever so sorry! Whenever I think I have finally learned to be more careful I cause more trouble with my butter feet. I will just pick these up..."
Cosette apologized, and bent down to pick up the books she had knocked over.
