Will found the classes interesting, but it was strange switching from private tutor's to a public school. Going from private rooms in the clan castle to a classroom filled with other students. Strange but not bad.

He stretched in his seat, class was about to end and he was ready to get back to his dorm when he noticed a girl. Small, blonde, pretty, he smiled at her. Then, class ended and the students started to leave. Will rose from his seat and approached the mystery girl, "hey there, I'm William Thatch, call me Will."

Nia always sat in the back of the classroom. She didn't like the feeling of everyone's eyes on when she sat in the front of the room.

Class came to an end and Nia began to collet her things, a notebook and a pen. She was about to stand up when a voice hit her ears. She glanced up, surprised to find someone talking to her.

"H-hi Will. I'm Nia. It is nice to meet you." She said reciting the customary greeting.

He smiled, "it's good to meet you too Nia." He slid his notebook into a pocket on the inside on his coat, "I just got here a few weeks ago, thought I'd come talk to you."

Adjusting his glasses he grinned, "been trying to adjust to everything, its been interesting." He chuckled a bit, "it was a bit jarring, everything is so different from home, but I'm here talking to a cute girl, so I think things are turning out ok."

Nia's eyes widened. Cute girl? No one really referred to her that way. Maybe Aedan on occasion if he called her cute or sister or something. Even though her social skills were below par, she could tell that this context was quite different than the one Aedan referred to her in.

However, she felt almost pleased to hear the words from Will. She had been putting greater effort into taking care of herself physical, majorly when it came to things like brushing her hair.

"Oh...uh..where are you from?" She said rising to her feet.

"Europe, me and my family often moved, but we always stayed in Europe," he remembered how the clan castle was enchanted to change location once a year. "Moved here with my mom," he decided to not mention why for now.

"What about you?" he asked curiously, "where are you from?" The classroom was quickly emptying with students heading home or to their dorms, "would you like to go for a walk? I haven't really seen much of the school."

"Oh uh...I don't really..." Nia paused, her eyes shifting down, fingers fiddling with helm of her skirt uniform, "New York." She figured that was a good enough answer for now.

Aedan would be at Nia's dorm in an hour or so with her meal but she had time to spare before then.

"Sure. The campus is quite beautiful. I can show you the gardens."

He tilted his head curiously at hesitation but said nothing about it. "I've been to New York a few times with my father," he had been there talking to the leaders of another clan.

Smiling he nodded, "yea, what little I saw was really nice." He stepped beside her, "the gardens sound really." He headed toward the door making sure she was beside him, "how long have you lived here?"

She stood and followed behind Will as they made their way out of the classroom.

"This is my second year of school at Starlight Academy. I'm a sophomore in high school now." Nia wished that she was further ahead of where she currently was, especially after learning of her true age. However, the school had determined that she was still not ready mentally or socially to move any further ahead. She was getting good grades but nothing that warranted her skipping even one grade.

"You're a year below me then," he adjusted his glasses, he still wasn't used to wearing them. "I grew up knowing about Manta Carlos but was always homeschooled," he grinned, "it's been fun coming here."

They came to double doors leading outside, he opened one for her, "me and my mom have a place in the city," it was a mansion actually, he may have have turned the throne down but he was still wealthy. "So I'm gonna look through the magic shops soon, I'd be happy if you came with me."

She paused, looking up at him with a inquisitive expression, "Home schooled?" This concept was new to her.

"Oh I don't think I can.. My brother will be at my dorm soon with my dinner. He would get worried if I wasn't there." She didn't mention that she didn't really go off campus much. She had once tried visiting an off campus library by herself... It had not gone well and since then she hadn't gone out anywhere without her big brother or dorm parent at her side.
