Surprisingly Kal didn't seem to be weirded out by having another guy hanging onto him. Well, Cam wasn't all bulky and stuff like guys normally were, maybe that downed the weirdness factor, and the fact that they were friends.
Cam hoped Kal couldn't feel how much his pal's heart was pounding because of this though, Cam was able to hold back the blush for now but his pulse was going crazy.
"I'm okay, my head isn't rock but it's durable."
Cam said, trying to sound reassuring, and grinned. Why wasn't Kal pulling back? Why did he have that expression? Cam observed Kal bit confused, especially when he seemed to take a deep breath. Had Cam hit some other spot and hurt Kal or something?

Cam would've never been able to predict what Kal said next. At first he was confused, what was Kal talking about? Why was he listing things he wanted to do? What did he me-?
Oh. Oooooooh...
Cam's eyes widened and he blinked, staring at Kal with slight shock, but mostly just flabbergasted. Be with Cam as in be with Cam. Cam was too smart to misunderstand that. Kal was c-, was this a confession? Cam was pretty sure it was a confession. Yup, seemed like it was a confession, or at least an admission of attraction.
Once that knowledge registered in Cam's head he blushed, and it was clear as day on his skin which was bit paler than normal because of the cool water. But who gave a fuck about that right now? Kal was basically asking Cam to...date him? Cam was pretty sure it was that. His brain wasn't working properly.

It took almost an awkwardly long time before Cam was able to open his mouth, still blushing pretty heavily, and at first he produced a few um and eh sounds before forming actual words.
"You...I...are you, uh, sure you aren't...confused? I mean, I look a lot like a...a girl, basically, so...you know. It has, uh, happened before, so...making sure."
Cam sounded real fucking smart, but his brain was refusing to ooperate with his mouth right now.

This was it, the moment when either Cam would accept the way Kal felt about him or told him it wasn't the right time or the right people or... whatever. Kal saw the confusion and shock ripple across Cam's face and of course the significant blushing.

His heart felt like it stopped as he waited to hear Cam's reply. 'Say something Cam', he thought. 'Anything'. The man was staring at him without opening his mouth and in the back of his mind Kal wondered if Cam really had hit his head too hard. But finally Cam began to talk.

Or more accurately Cam began to babble. Some of the noises he made were words and eventually what he was saying started to come through. Was Kal confused? No, absolutely not. It was true he had never dated a man before- hadn't really thought about it, as far as he knew, before meeting Cam. But the absolute truth was that he liked Cam. Really, really liked him. He'd taken a lot of time to think about it and talked it through with Skye, who had sworn to secrecy about it.

How did he show that he was completely and definitely sure about what he was saying? Words were sort of failing them both, so instead he did something else with his mouth. He leaned in to give Cam a kiss.

And just to add to the moment, Kal had a raincloud form above them to send a steady stream of warm rain down on them. The cheesiest of romance tropes.

Cam had been through countless crushes, and relationships as well. Some of them were an impulse, some were after weeks or even months of pondering. Cam was the kind of person to get swept up by feelings, but with these ones, that he had towards Cam he had tried to, for once, hold back. Cam's latest relationship, or more like a crush, with the fae that had messed up his life had opened his eyes. That maybe Cam shouldn't get swept up by feelings so easily.
But what was he supposed to do when the guy he liked wanted to date him?

Cam's logic and emotions were at war, his logic telling him to stop for a minute and think clearly, analyze the situation. But Cam's emotions were basically screaming him to just kiss the guy already, what's wrong with you?!
But the war was paused when Cam, who had been waiting for Kal's respond anxiously, saw that very guy he liked lean in for a kiss. A kiss. In this case Cam's mouth and brain were in full cooperation.

Cam closed his eyes and leaned in as well, just enough so his lips met Kal's mid-way. Cam barely registered the rain, he just made a short notion of it at the back of his mind. The rest of his mind was filled with how soft Kal's lips felt. That one sensation was enough to clear Cam's head, surprisingly. He was able to think clearly again, and this time he properly noticed it had suddenly began raining. Mostly because he was less cold now, thanks to it. Cam was the one to break the kiss, and he looked at Kal, glanced up at the cloud, and looked at Kal again. And he smiled.
"What is this, The Notebook?"
Cam said and chuckled, but it wasn't said really jokingly, and the smile on Cam's face was warm and happy.
"Do you realize how hard I was holding back from saying it first? This is unfair. I want my money back."

Kal Closed his eyes as the warm droplets of rain fell upon the two of them floating in the ocean. There was no one else around as far as he was concerned. Just the two of them, and as he had that thought their lips met. Someone overly dramatic might have described a first kiss a like a spark of electricity that ran through their body. But as much as Kal tried to add atmosphere by making it rain, this wasn't a movie really. He was clumsy, made worse by the constant movements to stay afloat. There wasn't electricity exactly, no he would have described it more as a warmth. Cam's lips were warm despite the chill in the air and more than that the warmth seemed to spread to Kal's cheeks and the rest of his body too.

Almost assuredly that was all in his head, but when Cam pulled away Kal wasn't even sure how long the kiss had been. It seemed like it lasted forever and also not nearly long enough, all at the same time. He chuckled too as Cam mentioned The Notebook. If he was asked about it he'd probably have to admit he might have watched a few movies for ideas. "Hey, I could always make that cloud up there into a heart shape if you want me to go the extra little bit," he snickered.

He couldn't take his eyes off of Cam's. He didn't have any of the worries or concerns that Cam had running through his mind. To him it was just a huge relief to have confessed how he felt and see that Cam did in fact feel the same way. Of course they didn't need to be overly serious though and Kal splashed just a little bit of water on Cam. "I'll pay you back for all your hardship then. Honestly, i've been planning for today all this week."

Cam, along with all the worry and giddyness and happiness, was relieved as well. He had been holding this crush, these feelings, in for a while now and it was just...so freeing to get them out, and it was a rush in itself to have Kal confess his feelings first. That rarely happened with Cam, he was usually the assertive one.
Cam raised a brow at Kal's proposition of making the cloud heart-shaped, and he had a small sly smile on his face as he answered.
"What's the point, when I'll only be looking at you anyway?"
Cam snickered, but he meant his words and it was clear to see from the way Cam didn't look away from Kal, smiling a bit dreamily.

Cam got splashed again and he fake pouted at Kal, splashing some water back at him. But when Kal admitted he had been planning this day the whole week Cam felt a bit touched, and he flashed a happy grin
"All week, huh? Hmm, okay, I'll forgive you, but you still need to pay me back. You have no idea how hard it was."
Cam's fake pout returned, but it didn't stay for long and it melted back into that dreamy, happy smile.
"You know I'm a pain in the ass, right? I'll be a pain in the ass boyfriend too."
Cam said this half-jokingly and with the smile on his face, but he meant it, he was a pain in the ass.

"You're right, I don't want to distract you from looking at me. I might lose you to the clouds." Man did that sound corny and ridiculous but Kal was far too happy to worry about that. Cam would have to forgive him for being a little too distracted to make good comebacks. It would only be fair, considering it was Cam himself that Kal was so distracted by.

He laughed off the returned splash of water and was seriously tempted to start a little water battle right there like a child. Really, really tempted. But Cam was talking and he didn't want to ruin that. "Sure, just tell me what you want as payment for your hardship. I'm sure I can find more pickles somewhere to give you." Kal joked about the pickles but he was serious about doing whatever Cam wanted.

Kal put on a serious face, or as serious as he could manage while failing to hide his smile. "Well that changes things doesn't it? If you're a pain in the ass...," and then he snorted and splashed a bunch of water at Cam as he broke into a grin. "Stop trying to talk me out of it. If I didn't want to deal with your craziness I wouldn't have said I wanted to be with you. I can handle it, I promise."

"Oh please, the clouds have nothing on you."
Cam grinned, he was very well aware of the corniness of everything the both of them were saying but he didn't care. His head was in the clouds, no pun intended, and everything looked like Cam was watching it through rose-coloured glasses. Seriously, was Kal always this handsome or was it the situation?

Cam pretended to think seriously for a moment, but the grin on his face ruined it.
"I guess this confession of yours is enough as payment. It really made my day, and week, and month."
Cam laughed a bit, and did not touch the possible joke he could've made about pickles. Too soon.
"And I guess a kiss now and then wouldn't hurt."

Kal didn't fool Cam for a second, and he was snickering when Kal splashed him with water again.
"Who said I was trying to talk you out of it? There's no way I'd let you bail this soon, especially since you pulled the rain kiss on me. That was low."
Cam narrowed his eyes at Kal, but there was still a smile on his face. Cam couldn't stop smiling, and now his cheeks were really starting to hurt a bit. He wished they could stay like this forever.
But they just couldn't stay floating in the ocean forever, and Cam was getting cold despite being Kal's arms.
"You know, I could really go for some of that hot cocoa and blankets right about now. Where's my pickly steed?"
Cam chuckled, and looked over his shoulder for his board.

The confession had meant that much to Cam. Of course it had meant a lot to Kaliyan, since he had needed to work his way up to doing it, but the way Cam said it made it sound like it was truly something special to him. Kal was suddenly glad he had been the one to confess his feelings first. He'd personally have been just as happy if Cam had said it, but if it made Cam that much happier to have Kal say it then it was all the better.

"A kiss now and then? I'm pretty sure that was already part of the deal. But maybe I can throw in a few extras," he winked at Cam. Not actually sure at all what he meant by that but he was kind of winging it. He was riding the high of their newfound, or at least newly official, relationship.

Despite the wonderfully warm rain and the warmth that was always being produced around Kal he was also starting to feel a bit chilly. Being so close to Cam had definitely stalled that for a bit but when he suggested returning back to their blankets he had no objections. "That sounds pretty good to me. Won't be any fun if we both become popsicles out here. I think your steed is right over there," he laughed and pointed towards the surfboard floating by them. He did though take full advantage of Cam's turning away. With the man's cheek turned perfectly towards him he gave it a quick kiss.

"I'll race you back to shore Cam!" With that he gave Cam a playful push and turned to find his own surfboard. The raincloud could follow them all the way in but Kal wasn't going to maintain it after they reached shore. Just while they were in the cooler water of the ocean.

"A few extras? Really now?"
Cam said, and smiled bit slyly. After Kal winked at him Cam stole a quick kiss from his lips, just a peck for now, and grinned at Kal.
"I'll be charging one extra now. You should get used to it, I can get pretty clingy."

Cam was surprised by the sudden cheek kiss, seemed like Cam wasn't the only one who could be sneaky. He grinned at Kal and sent a small splash of water at him.
"Keep that up and I won't mind being a popsicle. Then my death will be on your hands."
Cam laughed, and soon after Kal pushed him away playfully after declaring a race.
"Oh, you're on, Muscles!"
Cam turned around fast and hopped back on his board. Kal was probably going to win, he didn't have the nickname Muscles for nothing. But Cam got a head start, and paddled as fast as he could with long strokes.

Like Cam predicted, Kal won their little race, although Cam didn't finish far behind. His body had warmed up thanks to the race, and he was panting a bit when he walked on the sand. Cam still had a big smile on his face as he turned to Kal.
"You know what? I think I'll show you the surprise now. It will seem pathetic in comparison to yours but I think you'll like it."
With those words Cam tugged his board under his arm and headed to their spot.

Kal hadn't expected the extra kiss from Cam but fair was fair, as he had ended up returning the favor just moments later. Clingy was fine. It was so nice to have someone who wanted to be close to him all the time.

He dove over to grab onto his own surfboard as Cam was getting his head start and then paddled quickly after the man. Kal could have pulled the race. Not paddled as well as he knew he could but that would have been less fun. And Cam would have probably given him shit for it. So he flexed and pushed the water over and over as he paddled in. He managed to catch up and pass Cam, though the other man wasn't that far behind by the time they made it to the shore.

"I'm pretty sure nothing you show me will be pathetic Cam," he said as he grabbed his own board and followed him back up to their little recessed blanket area. He was very much grinning with excitement and happiness as he dug a bit of a hole with his feet and lodged the end of his board there for safe-keeping.

Kal sighed as he plopped down onto the larger blanket that had been spread out and laid back with his eyes closed to wait for Cam to retrieve whatever his surprise was. "Alright, i'm ready for your surprise." He had no pranks planned. No water ready for splashing or wind ready to blow and cause a mess. Just simply waiting there with his eyes closed and a happy grin on his face.
