Explorations gone astray

Nicole stopped arguing and blushed, looking down. "No, I don't have a date..." She admitted. She hadn't really given much thought about the dance until now. But who would take a hedgewitch to the dance? It looked like she would have to settle for going stag that night. " I hear the ballroom is going to look spectacular. They've really been putting a lot of work into it." She remarked with a soft smile.

Judas nodded.
"It shall be quite beautiful."
He smiled.
"Though, it seems your soul is vibrant, I would not fret, you will find a date, it is an eventuality, believe me! Though there are the more eccentric, brutish fools about, there are a few good male students, I suppose. And such a charming girl as yourself shouldn't go it alone, you know."

Nicole blushed once more. "Thank you, but you are too kind. If I must I shall go alone. I can take care of myself." She added with a smile. "And what of you? Who is it that retains the honor of being escorted by you?" she asked curiously.

Judas smiled.
"I usually wouldn't go to such dances really, I am a bit of a hedonist, but I find most dances to be droll. I was asked ages ago by my friend Mimosa, so I do suppose I'm going with her. Honestly though, you shall find a charming young boy soon enough, the academy has a surplus of overconfident young men."

Nicole sighed. "None that I have encountered as of yet. But who knows? Perhaps my luck will change. If not then no harm done, I shall just have to find alternate means of entertainment that night."

Judas nodded, smirking.
"There are many ways to entertain oneself on the academy grounds, so many different ways. And I'm sure you'll amuse yourself fine at the dance, there will be plenty of other girls going alone, I know that from all the amusing requests I have denied."

Nicole smiled. "rejection can hurt though..." she replied softly. "Besides... Why would I want to go with a bunch of loner girls? I wouldn't dance with any of them." She shook her head. "No, I think the night of the dance, I'll dissappear into the woods." She remarked with a grin.

Judas smirked.
"Come now, who's the loner now? Everyone's going to the dance, vampires, imbeciles, beauties, fools, geniuses, you know."

"Exactly. I don't feel the need to embarass myself in front of the entire school only a few days after my arrival." She explained. "I don't really care if that makes me a loner. I just don't wish to be humiliated. Plus, wasn't it you who said I'd have a date by the dance anyway? If that's true then there is really no reason to discuss my becoming a loner." She replied coyly.

Judas gave her a charming smile.
"It's called the art of conversation, dear, I couldn't care less what the people of the academy do."
