The day only got worse when Eliana's heel broke, and she growled, stopping and bending over to take her high heel off and hop -- okay, no that was not working at all. She broke the other heel, using the high heels as makeshift flats now and carrying the broken heels in each of her hands.
"Great. Nice. That's just wonderful!"
She was not a morning person... or an afternoon person....
Figuring that the downtown area was probably going to be the most populated and probably the most interesting area, that's where Aaron headed first. He hoped the people here were as friendly as folks back home tended to be, as he thought making new friends might be the best part of living in new places, even though he also got picked on a lot for some reason. He was also really curious if a supernatural island would have different stores than he was used to.
He'd just come out of some sort of magical general store, (which was pretty much like any other general store, except some of its items had cheap charms on them,) when he saw a stranger break her shoe. The girl appeared to be about his age, or perhaps a little older, and roughly his height as well, though taller with the high heels on. He had no idea why girls voluntarily wore those ankle-breaking death traps, but he still felt he should help her anyways.
He hadn't done much shopping today, but his mother had given him some pocket money in addition to what he received from the school, so he had bought some cheap, useful-looking things. In particular, he had just got some chameleon duct tape that was enchanted to change colours to match whatever it was used on. Other than that, it was just normal duct tape, but Aaron thought normal duct tape was pretty much a magical object anyways.
He ran after the girl, calling out, "'Ey! I've got somet'ing dat might be able to 'elp wit' yer shoes, ducky!"
Eliana put on a smile and stood as tall as she could with a broken high heel (ugh). She jutted out one hip as he approached, looking him up and down.
"Oh, do you? Are you gonna carry me away in your big, strong arms?" If Eliana had a tail right then, it would have been flicking to match the sudden mischievous glint in her eye.
And like that, her mood at the bad day was overpowered with her need to touch, inspect, circle, and prey on. Eliana wasn't the kind of lust demon who got what she wanted whenever she wanted. Less confident in her sexuality and more pushy, desperate, needy. Always wanting more, grabbing for it.
He did realize she was probably flirting with him, but he was in no way attracted to her, though he did find her oddly intriguing. Besides, his arms were neither big nor particularly strong. He might have been able to lift her if she was actually injured or something like that. And he probably would have if she'd twisted her ankle instead of just breaking a heel. He did have a bit of a knight in shining armour complex especially around girls, even ones that were older than he was and nearly as tall.
However, nothing appeared to be bruised on the girl, except maybe her pride. "Afraid yer not my type, ducky. Though I'se sure yer right pretty. What's yer name by the way? Mine's Aaron. Aaron Jacobs. I'se new 'ere. T'ey certainly do 'ave some right interesting t'ings around 'ere."
Eliana hummed when he mentioned she wasn't his type, which was just ridiculous -- she was everyones type. Silly boy. She smiled minx-like and crooned out her name, "Eliana Ria is the name cutie. Aaron. I like that name. You have a very attractive accent, Aaron, where are you from?"
Eli took off her broken heel and gave it to him, leaning nearly on him, close enough that the heat of her body could be felt against his arm and her the warmth of her breath fanned out against his neck. She reached up and twirled a strand of his hair with her finger.
When Eliana passed him her broken shoe, he accepted it gracefully. The boy noticed how close she got because it was a little close for comfort, but he didn't think much of it. Some people just didn't have a concept of personal space. When she actually reached out and touched his hair, though, then the boy became rather nonplussed by her actions. He instinctively moved his head back and looked at the girl. "Umm... Miss? What're y'after?" Aaron gave her the benefit of a doubt; maybe he had something in his hair. But she'd still invaded his not-unreasonably-large bubble, and he felt awkward.
The boy still felt obliged to help out a girl, even if she did get a little close. So partially to diffuse the awkward situation, and partly to finished what he'd started, Aaron tore off a piece of the camoflage ducttape and attached the heel back onto the shoe. As promised, the tape did blend right in, although if you looked you could see that the heel was now slightly wider. The boy jiggled the heel back and forth a bit to make sure it wasn't loose, then he handed it back to Eliana. "T'ere ya go, ducky, should be just right now. Pass t'ot'er one?"
"I didn't," Eliana laughed. Maybe she out to have felt bad she didn't know that, but she'd never paid close attention to the United States or Canada. "I was born in Ireland, but I'm from Hell," she told him as sincerely as she could manage.
Eliana sighed somewhat melodramatically when Aaron pulled away and asked what she was after. He was homosexual. She already knew that thanks to funky lust powers. So then why did he have to be so cute? What with that adorable nickname 'ducky.'
Eliana offered Aaron the other heel. She inspected his work on the broken heel before putting it on and testing it against the pressure of her body. It would hold up to her way home, at least.
Begrudgingly, Eliana uttered him thanks before saying, "why are the cute ones always gay?"
He supposed she could just be a normal human who was raised in Hell somehow but that seemed even more unlikely. "'Ell, really? Perhaps I'se new 'ere, but you don't seem da type."
He fixed up the other heel as quickly as the first but fiddled with it a little longer as she offered him another backhanded compliment. The teen was overly flustered by this older girl and nearly blushing with embarrassment. He didn't consider himself cute really - he was just an average guy. Even the fact he had some magic was hardly impressive on this island, and it seemed to have its fair share of attractive guys. He wondered if Eliana was like this with everyone - maybe male demons did look hideous and she was only human-looking cause she was female? He wasn't about to ask though.
Handing her the other shoe, the boy ran his fingers through his hair awkwardly, not quite meeting her gaze. "Sorry. Sure dere's plenty boys that thinks you're pretty, ducky, you must 'ave to beat 'em off wit' a stick. I'se sure t'ere's plenty more interesting t'an me. Just a normal 'uman, me."
