Exactly HOW far down is it?

Mimosa was wondering through the forest, when she saw the cliff. Being the impulsive creature she was, she had to see how far down it was.

She peered over the dge, and looked to see it was, afterall, quite a large drop. She picked up and stone, held it over the dge and let go.

Finally, after a few seconds, she heard a gentle thud.

Stepping back a little, Mimosa continued through rocks, amusing herself.
