Jarak scoured the library for any morsel of knowledge he could understand. Mostly, he sought language books. His English barrier was a problem. The communication bracelet on his wrist helped him to learn, but he'd have still liked to know how to communicate effectively without it.

When he's gathered up an armful of different reading material, he found an occupied table and set everything down at an empty space.

"I sit here?" he asked the person currently at the table. His inflection drew the sentence out as a question, even if he was already sitting as though he expected an answer in the affirmative.

He grinned. "Jarak."

Juniper had came to the library, hoping that if he read enough books, just maybe, he could make up for his lack education past high school. It had worked in the past, as he had extensive knowledge of several languages, along with a pretty decent grasp on art history, yet it still fell short. Ask him a question on chemistry and he will go on a ten minute rampant vaguely about chemistry, but mainly about pioneers of the television industry . He struggled to have a well rounded foundation.

Today, he chose to dive into the history of the strange island that he was inherently stuck on. Several books were strewn on the table as Juniper studied with ear buds in, neatly concealed by his hair. As he was studying, a man with a peculiar appearance approached him. The classical music playing from his phone drowned out the first part of what he was saying, fortunately he took them out soon enough to catch at least what he wildly assumed his name. 'Jarak'. He could appreciate anyone's whose name started with a J, especially one who seemed this enthusiastic about approaching him, it was rare.

" Juniper Vincent, pleasure to meet you. Take a seat." He grinned, gesturing to the seat least obstructed by his books. Juniper clicked his pen several times more than necessary with an uncharacteristically eager look in his eyes.

" I'll give you an autograph if that's what you came here for, free of charge."

This man spoke quickly, that was the first thing Jarak noted about him, beyond the red hair. His speech was quick, and he had a look in his eye similar to hunters back in Jarak's tribe. It was a wild, untameable sort of excitement that Jarak could appreciate.

"Autograph?" Jarak asked, tasting the word to figure out what it might have meant. "No. Just came to sit. You have many books; I have many books. Make good match, yeah?"

But when Jarak looked at Juniper's books, he couldn't place most of them. It was all new to him, the basic math and sciences. His interest lied in languages, currently. It was the first stepping stone to opening a world he could actively participate. Maybe then he'd know what some of these words were. Starting with:

"What is autograph?"
