Samael often found crowds to be overwhelming, as a mass of blurry lines moved to fast for his sight to be able to catch all of them properly, making him feel dizzy and confused. When he was young, his mother wouldn't even let him go alone anywhere, even after his Sight had developed at the age of thirteen, for the fear of him collapsing after getting stuck in the crowed somewhere. He had gotten better at handling it as he went through his teens, and now, despite still not liking them, he as able to handle them quite well, and at some point, going to Festival became a family tradition.

Where have you agreed to meet him, honey? his mother yelled over the music coming from somewhere near by as they entered one of the busier streets. There were food charts everywhere, a number of performers, people selling this and that, all through the air filled with strong Iliac scent.

Somewhere around here I guess. Samael said, casting a short look to see if he could catch Draven's messy head.

Are you alright? his father asked immediately, putting his hand on his son's shoulder.

I'm fine, dad. Samael said, brushing it away. You go on. I can survive alone for five minutes. Draven should be here soon.

That of course wasn't enough for his father, and it took five more minutes of gentle prodding and assuring him that yes, he was alright, to convince him to finally leave for the festivities.

Leaning against the wall, Samael sat to patiently wait for his date's arrival.

Done up in his typical grungy black drab (though admittedly nicer than usual), Draven made his way through the festival and toward the area he and Samael had planned to meet. Surprisingly enough, he'd actually taken the time to get ready and look half decent rather than simply tossing some clothes on after a quick shower and allowing his hair to dry in whatever odd mess it decided to. Despite the fact that Samael can't see like most people, Draven still wanted to look at least a little nice for him.

How long has it been since he's actually gone on a date? Scratch that, has he ever really been on a date? Besides the times he and Rafi snuck out to be with each other, he couldn't honestly say he's gone on a real date. With Rafi it was usually a quick 'get away' from both of their families so they could be alone...that doesn't really count as a date, does it? He shook the thought from his mind; this is different, Samael's different and he shouldn't be comparing the two.

For a moment there, as his eyes searched the crowd for the redhead, a momentary panic came over him. Not finding Samael, his thoughts went into a chaotic overdrive. Had he scared him off somehow? Was this even the right place they agreed to meet? Though all those racing thoughts and the panic that came with them came to an abrupt stop when his eyes finally landed on Samael. His expression immediately softened and he couldn't help that semi-goofy smile from appearing on his face.

"Ya look lonely, mind if I join ya?" He gave an equally goofy greeting as he approached Samael.

Samael laughed with relief as he felt Draven approach him. When the sudden feeling of fear burst through him only a moment before, his mind immediately went into a panicked overdrive, thinking that something must have happened to Draven. Thus to feel it settle down and see the world grow brighter as the man approached him filled him with grateful relief.

I'm actually waiting for someone. he said, deciding to play along with Draven's goofy joke. He had in half mind to ask him why was he so afraid, but somehow he had also felt that that is not one of those things you talk about on first dates.

He is late though. He was supposed to be here fifteen minutes ago. he said, not really sure if that was how much it had been. He was never really good with clocks, the hand that showed seconds always moving too fast for him to catch the numbers properly, so he relied on his family to tell him that. However, he was still sure Draven was slightly late. He didn't mind, but it made for a good part of the play.

I don't mind though. he said a moment later, not wanting to make it seem like he was angry. It's not like we're in a hurry. he noted, reaching for Draven's hand. He wasn't sure if the other would want to show such an obvious sign of affection in such a public so he made his movement slow and easy to avoid.

Draven couldn't help his smile widening at sound Samael's laughter. He didn't care how cheesy that greeting was as long as it got that kind of reaction. Nor did he care much about what anyone else would think. In fact, PDA was something of a turn on for him. It should be something he’d be wary about; after all he did lose someone by being found out to have affection for them. Though, Draven had quite the opposite reaction; it seemed since his father’s death, he has done whatever he could that’d make him roll over in his grave. Call it anger, call it some weird sense of revenge, call it whatever you want; Draven simply doesn’t care about minuscule things like that anymore. It was part of that stupid mind set he’s held since his family’s death; through all of the self loathe and guilt there was also something of a childish need to get back at his father and to act out even though he is indeed gone. That being said, he reached out for Samael’s hand as Samael reached for his, and without hesitation, intertwined his fingers with his.

“Yeah?” Draven smirked in a playful manner. “That’s too bad he’s so late.” He continued with the run-on ‘play’ and gave a false thoughtful sigh and a mock shake of his head in disappointment. “Leavin’ a date to wait alone like that…that aint right.” He paused for a beat. “And ya know…the only way to make up for such a horrible thing to do to such an attractive guy….is for that ‘someone’ to spend the rest of the day with him and buy him dinner afterward.” He moved in just a bit closer to Samael, dropping the hint that he didn’t plan to let this date end early. Once he said that though, however lame it was, he realized he hadn't actually complimented Samael yet or really had the chance to flirt with him.

You know, I was actually planing to let you off the hook. Samael said, smiling, as Draven intertwined his fingers with his own. However your plan sounds so much better. he laughed, unable to stop this weird bubbly feeling that suddenly rose in his chest from pouting over. He tightened his hold on Draven's hand, thinking that he might just explode...however stupid that was. He tried to get a grip on himself after he realised how he was acting, but his face refused to listen, still wearing a huge, bright smile.

So, where do you want to go? he asked, normally, dropping the play, for all though it was fun, it was not his kind of thing and he couldn't keep up that kind of false, forced lines for long. There is food everywhere, and there are quite a few places with really good music, along with the performers and all kinds of things. The city is full of them. It was like that every year, and while Samael didn't like crowds in general, for they overwhelmed, he made a point of going to the festival at least once every year. Having somebody by his side as he walked the excitement filled air usually changed his opinion on crowds, and he was sure that this year, that will be even more so, for it was not a family member that will be walking the streets with him this year, but a date.

...and there it was, that almost stupid bubbly feeling, rising in his chest again.

"Mmm...I'm serious 'bout that." Draven hummed, chuckling lightly under his breath at Samael's reaction. Though, he himself was feeling very much the same way and couldn't keep that lopsided and somewhat goofy smile off his face. Though, that smile easily became something more snarky and sly as he spoke up next.

"Yer mine for the rest of the day." There was something of a wicked glare in his eyes as he looked at Samael. "Got it?" He finished with a playful but almost wolf-ish growl. Though it was said in an obviously flirty and fun manner, he did mean it and he would see to it.

"And since ya are mine for the rest of the day..." He said, reinforcing that fact, his smile widening as he did. "It dun really matter where we go, 'cause by the time this date's done we'll have made our rounds anyway." That and he simply wasn't sure where to go first seeing as he's never gone to one of these and he wasn't really sure what Samael would enjoy considering he doesn't see like he does. Not that it was a bad thing, Draven thought nothing different of it really, but he didn't want to seem stupid by asking or inconsiderate by choosing something Samael couldn't really enjoy.

"Yer call, pretty boy." He nudged him in the side playfully, allowing him to choose so he wouldn't make a fool of himself so early on in the date.

Don't worry, I have cleared my schedule for the day. Samael laughed, pulling Draven's hand a bit as to indicate that they should glue themselves off the wall and start walking. Nobody will try to spirit me away. I'm at your mercy until midnight. And the only reason his parents have allowed that was the fact that, considering that his bed was the only bed they could go back to in the city, and nothing has happened there as of yet, they were sure that their son would be safe for the night. Only, they, or, well, his mother mainly, have put it in much more embarrassing way when he had asked them how long he could stay out.

Let's go listen to some music then, I'm not hungry yet. he answered to Draven telling him to choose where to go, smiling a bit wider because of the other calling him 'pretty boy'. There should be a stage somewhere around here, I went there last year with my sister. he said, trying to separate the lines of people moving from those that formed the streets and walls. It wasn't working. Even with the brightness that Draven's touch brought, the movement of it all was a bit too much and he could see that he won't go very far without either getting lost, or acquiring a headache. He frowned a bit, biting his lip.

Come here. he said, pulling Draven to the one of the less crowded streets. Let's go this way. The crowd there is a bit too much for me right now.
