Samael often found crowds to be overwhelming, as a mass of blurry lines moved to fast for his sight to be able to catch all of them properly, making him feel dizzy and confused. When he was young, his mother wouldn't even let him go alone anywhere, even after his Sight had developed at the age of thirteen, for the fear of him collapsing after getting stuck in the crowed somewhere. He had gotten better at handling it as he went through his teens, and now, despite still not liking them, he as able to handle them quite well, and at some point, going to Festival became a family tradition.
Where have you agreed to meet him, honey? his mother yelled over the music coming from somewhere near by as they entered one of the busier streets. There were food charts everywhere, a number of performers, people selling this and that, all through the air filled with strong Iliac scent.
Somewhere around here I guess. Samael said, casting a short look to see if he could catch Draven's messy head.
Are you alright? his father asked immediately, putting his hand on his son's shoulder.
I'm fine, dad. Samael said, brushing it away. You go on. I can survive alone for five minutes. Draven should be here soon.
That of course wasn't enough for his father, and it took five more minutes of gentle prodding and assuring him that yes, he was alright, to convince him to finally leave for the festivities.
Leaning against the wall, Samael sat to patiently wait for his date's arrival.
