Thiul almost smiled at how Titus squinted at her words, she could almost hear the cogs turning in the man's head. That was just fine, Thiul wasn't about to make this easy for him. And when he came to the conclusion Thiul was fine with dancing and lead her to the dance floor Thiul sighed through her nose and let him.
"I'm not worried, but I'm doubtful about the fun part."
Though Thiul said this she did have a small smile on her face.

On the way to the dance floor Thiul made her cane evaporate, and all she was leaning on was Titus' hand. And she specifically avoided leaning onto him too much. Even if Thiul was used to having to rely on other from time to time, literally, didn't mean she enjoyed being a burden.

The two took the stance the other dancers had, Thiul was keeping an observant eye on the other dancers, noting their movements and memorizing them. She looked back at Titus, almost getting irritated at the fact that he'd lead but Thiul remembered in ball room dances male usually lead. Thiul accepted that, for now, but narrowed her eyes at the part about keeping it simple.
"I'm confident I'll be able to keep up, no need to keep it simple."

"Great, then I won't hold back. But don't blame me if my moves kill you," he grinned. Their dance started out normal enough, but it picked up as they progressed. They were moving with the music, doing a few twirls here and there until he brought her into a dip.

"Huh, you ever get that feeling like you're connecting with someone on a pretty deep level?" he asked as they came back up.

"You weren't able to kill me before, you won't be able to kill me now."
Thiul answered in kind, small grin on her face, and followed Titus' lead as the dance started. Thiul wasn't all bark and no bite, she was indeed able to keep up. She had to make few steps and moves here and there that kept her from messing up the rhythm as the dance became more complicated and faster. But they just made her look more graceful as her dress swirled along with her.

Titus brought Thiul into a dip, and during it she closed her eyes, enjoying the feeling. And as Titus brought her back up Thiul opened her eyes again, facing him and the question he asked. Thiul raised a brow slightly at the question, it was unexpected. But nothing Thiul was flustered by.
"Depends on your definition of 'pretty deep', really. I have felt a connection to...some people."

Titus could sense the judgemental eyes of a twelve year old from somewhere in the ballroom. And with that he realized he'd worded what he wanted to say weirdly. That said, Titus wasn't exactly some great charmer. And Thiul was a fairly prickly woman, but those were the best kinds right? He'd shift to a more direct approach instead.

"That was a stupid way to word it. What I'm getting at is... you ever feel like you've met someone you'd consider a decent match for you? Because between that skirmish we had, getting drinks with you, and well this. I dunno, I'm pretty comfortable with you, you know?"

Suppose Thiul could've called herself lucky that Hal wasn't much for balls or other festive events, that was one thing he and she shared. But thanks to that Thiul didn't need to worry about her actions. Well, Thiul wouldn't have worried even if her parents had been watching. Thiul preferred to act just as she wanted, screw everyone else.

Surely enough Titus very quickly shed the almost poetic way of speaking he had begun this conversation topic with. That was good, it had really not suited him. Instead he got straight to the point, which was what Thiul preferred to talking about connections and such.

"Yes, it was a stupid way to word it."
Was the first thing Thiul said and cracked a small smirk. As for the rest, Thiul surprisingly wasn't sure what to say. During her life she had had multiple suitors, it was only to be expected when you were the daughter and later the sister of the chief. But that had all been superficial. Despite his words earlier being quite tacky it had been accurate enough. Thiul enjoyed Titus' company, to say the least, and she was comfortable with him. Even if he was very irritating at times.
"I've met multiple people that have matched me, in terms of physical prowess at least. But I know that's not what you mean. I'm stalling."
Thiul admitted, she had an expression you rarely saw on her face, slightly troubled and conflicted.
"I'm nothing but honest, so I admit that I'd consider you a decent match for me. You did almost kill me, after all."

"I did, you almost caught me a couple times yourself though," he grinned as he thought back to their fight. He was still keeping in step with the music. He thought of every possible way he could ask the question. In spending time with Thiul he realized with her simple was better. Which was good because he was terrible at being eloquent and roundabout.

"So... how about it then?" he wasn't breaking eye contact with her even through the mask. "I wouldn't mind courting you."

The corners if Thiul's mouth twitched a bit at Titus' words, and she thought back to the fight as well. It had been her first time fighting a dragon of the fire element, it had been interesting and educational. And...fun.

He finally asked the question Thiul had thought Titus would take ages asking. Thankfully he said it outright. But the wording could've used work, and Thiul raised a brow. Well, she had received worse courting requests. One of the men that had asked her had just declared Thiul their woman. She had taught him a lesson or two.
"You wouldn't mind. I see."
Her tone wasn't especially icy, but her eyes spoke volumes.
"I was going to agree until you talked like I was a kitten you wouldn't mind taking care of."
Thiul was also slightly amused by this situation, it was a mix of irritation and amusement. But she kept her tone and expression neutral as she looked at Titus. She wasn't going to court anyone who wasn't clear about wanting it as much as she did. And in all honesty Thiul very much wanted to give Titus a try. She didn't lie when she said she felt he was a good match for her.

"Who said anything about taking care of you? You're not a little hatchling, you can handle yourself. That's what I'm looking for in a partner. You're the kind of person I want at my side," he was being dead serious. He really was halfway tripping and falling over the whole thing. However, he wanted someone at his side that complimented him well, and Thiul really was good for that.

"I'm not messing around here either."

Titus was being sincere and serious, even Thiul could see as much. She wasn't exactly one of the best speakers, so she didn't latch onto Titus' wording for too long. And Thiul was pleased that Titus awknowledged her strength, both inner and outer. She didn't need validation from others, but it was nice nevertheless.
Thiul tilted her head ever so slightly, she considered teasing Titus slightly longer. But the song they were dancing to was coming to an end.
"In that case, I wouldn't mind letting you be by my side."
Thiul answered, and her lips twitched a bit. But despite the wording she slapped right back at Titus Thiul wasn't messing around either.

"Oh I see, it's fine when you're the one saying it," he twirled her and pulled her back in. All in all he'd say the night was a win for him. He'd prove himself a superior match compared to her previous suitors... not that it was really a competition. Still, he'd do what he could to make her happy.

"Man... how hard do you think everyone's gonna squint when we tell them?"
