He understood 'hanging out', but it wouldn't have been inaccurate to say that he'd never really done it before. His time had not been his own before, and even the other slaves had largely been older or younger than him. His master had opted to space them out so he always had someone fit and able handy, and it had the fortunate side effect of making sure none of the slaves got overly close.

Less weird. Everyone on the island was weird. Even the 'normal' people were weird to him. People from the 'narrow reality' were so used to a world that was completely alien to him, and he hesitated at the offer before shaking his head.
