Rhett, a young teen with shaggy black hair, bright green eyes, cat ears atop his head and a tail protruding from his back side, made his way down the hall from the administration office. He had a uneasy air about him as he walked; eyes darting every which way as though he was preparing to be attacked out of nowhere. He was nervous to be going back to a public school and not to mention, one with other creatures and super-powered humans. It almost made him wonder how long he would last; after all he had no real powers to defend himself and was down to eight lives. He hadn't lasted long in any other school he had gone to...did going to one for people like him give him a better chance or an even worse one?

'Wow' He thought as he made his way down the hall. 'This place is huge!' He almost grinned at just how vast and beautiful the school appeared, even from this view. Though, a bigger school than he was used to only meant more people than he was used to, he realized regrettably.

<div align=center>William wanted a dog. He needed a dog. And he wouldn't stop at anything until he had a dog. From his knowledge, there were a lot of adverts stuck around on a pin board close to the admin desk, Bill got the feeling there were mostly adverts for clubs, and room mates. No one here had any puppies did they? He didn't think it would hurt to check, after all, at least one student had to have a dog, right? And if that dog had puppies... William's face lit up at the thought, I could have a puppy! He didn't know how much puppies were, nor did he really know how to look after them. But he'd figure it out somehow.

He almost didn't notice the boy in front of him, not until he near enough stood on him at least. William stumbled as he attempted to avoid the boy, cursing softly and wobbling on his feet. "O.. Oh.. Oh goodness!" He steadied himself against the wall, frowning and blushing hard all of a sudden, "I.. I'm sorry! I didn't.. See you there." He hunched his shoulders and stared to his feet, not noticing the set of ears set neatly on the top of Rhett's skull.

It wasn't unclear why Bill hadn't seen him, William was very tall, and well, Rhett was... Not so tall. "A.. Are you-- Oh! You're a kitty!" He'd evidently spied Rhett's ears, and it was fully safe to say: he liked them.</div>

Rhett hadn't been paying attention at the time he was nearly run over; having his attention grabbed momentarily by another student walking on the other side of the hall. He was hoping the other wouldn't see him and to be avoided as much as possible. Though his hopes were crushed right about the time he was nearly as well. He immediately took a step back, ears pinned down against his head and tail practically between his legs as those bright green eyes of his stared up at the much taller stranger.

He stayed silent while the other talked; half tempted to just take off down the hall but forcing to stay put. After all, what kind of an impression would running away give him? This was his chance at a new start; no one knew him here and that meant they didn't know of his stutter or the fact that liked boys. He couldn't be made fun of for those reasons if they didn't know, right? That is...if he could get away with not speaking or staring at cute guys. Then he realized he was being addressed and that urge to take off came back again. He promptly shook his head, deciding against it and instead gave the stranger a rather meek smile as a response.

<div align=center>Bill got a wave of nerves from the smaller boy, one that only added to his own anxiety and made him want to take flight himself. A small, timid smile crossed William's face as an awkward silence befell the two. Rhett was little and cute, he had a nice face, and Billy very much liked his ears. Wish I had ears like that. All he was cursed with was long hair and a feminine gait. William cleared his throat, shuffling nervously on his feet and glancing behind him. It seemed he was as bad at conversation as the little cat boy was.

William met his eye for a brief moment, hunching his shoulders a little, frowning and blushing. "S... Sorry..." He stammered, he wasn't much sure what else to do. The poor boy in front of him was so nervous that he could do nothing by sympathize with him. The longer he spent around him, the worse he began to feel. Though that wasn't Rhett's fault, not at all. A hand went to his mouth and he chewed off one of his nails, a small click echoing in their silence. "I... A.. Are you... Alright?" He asked, frowning a little, "y.. You..." He broke off, a nervous person was not the best kind of company for someone who was just as nervous.</div>

'The little cat boy' only stared up at the other as he spoke. Though, the more he talked, the less nervous and more curious Rhett became. His tail and ears somewhat perked up as a result. He was still nervous yes, but the fact that the other seemed to be as well, and the fact that he was stuttering (albeit not as bad as Rhett does), made him feel slightly more comfortable having run into him. He almost breathed a sigh of relief at not having run into someone who would sooner bully him than talk to him; but that's just what this guy was doing...talking to him. That was the thing; he seemed just as awkward as Rhett himself and yet he was actually making an effort...even if he was stuttering and Blushing. Wait....blushing? That's when Rhett realized he was probably making him feel even more awkward by not saying anything.

"Uhm..."He hummed under his breath quietly. He felt bad about just standing there like an idiot and most likely making things more uncomfortable, as well as seeming rude for not answering the other. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if he gave talking a go? This guy didn't seem so bad after all...

"I...mmm" He sounded out, shifting nervously as he spoke up. "F-fi....fi..." He attempted, becoming flustered when he couldn't get the last part of the word out.

'Come one, just say it!' He scolded himself, his nervousness making it even more difficult to get just one word out. Why had he even decided to speak up? He just wanted to let him know he was ok...and now he was making a fool of himself!

He gave a frustrated sigh, shaking his head and stomping his foot as he tried to force the word out. "Fi..fINE!" Though when the word was finally said, he immediately turned a bright shade of red and turned his gaze down toward his feet in his embarrassment and immediately regretting even opening his mouth. Now he's really done it...what happened to 'new start'? He was probably going to start laughing at him now or something.

<div align=center>William quivered a little, this boy was making him panic he was beginning to want to get away. His hand dropped to his pocket, fumbling for the little bottle that was usually there, his hand closed around it, and he pulled it out, unscrewing the cap and sticking the dropper in his mouth. He drew a breath and replaced the bottle, hands shaking ever so slightly. "S... Sorry... Y.. Y.. Yo-you're... Making me n-n-nervous." It was at times like this Bill really cursed being an empath. He would have liked someone's hand to hold at this point. Maybe Gabe's. Definitely Gabe's.

William started when the boy yelled, though he empathized with him, it was hard enough for him to get words out. William wasn't likely to bully Rhett, in fact he wasn't really likely to bully anyone- aside from Gabriel. "Sorry." He murmured again, not fully knowing what to say to the boy. Should he offer help? William figured the boy was obviously new. "D... Do you need any help?" He asked softly shuffling awkwardly on his feet and glancing behind him as if he were looking for something, or someone in his case.

He hoped for this kid's sake he was put in a room on his own, William had been terrified of the dreaded room mates. Luckily for him, he hadn't been put with one when he'd arrived. Though things had changed and he'd become somewhat attached to his current room mate, she wasn't scary at all. It took him a second to realize he didn't even know this kid's name, "oh.. I.. I-I'm W-William, by the.. By the way." He blinked, "who... Who are.. you?"</div>

Rhett watched William with his new found curiosity of him but that was quickly turning back into uneasiness. His ears fell back into place against his head and his tail meekly wrapped part way around one of his ankles when he was told he was making the taller guy nervous. That news only made him even more self-conscious as he began to question his actions, not knowing what he did wrong.

When he was asked if he needed any help he gave a silent nod of 'no'. Of course that wasn't entirely true; this place was pretty big and he would probably wind up getting lost trying to find his way around. Though, already being so unsure of himself and feeling bad for making William nervous, he wasn't about to ask for help or hint that he wanted any.

"I-uhm...I..mmm..." He drew out the 'm' much like he had done earlier in that same slow and hesitant manner. "Rhe-ee....uhm.." He gave something of a frustrated sound, taking a deep inhale before letting it out slowly and starting over. "Rrr-rhe..." He shifted, the tip of his tail flicking in frustration and a flustered look on his face as he finally got out the last letter of is name. "..e-ttt."

He wanted to simply give up on the second try but then William would probably mistake his name for 'Rhee' or something and that was more embarrassing than butchering own name with his stutter. Afterward he looked completely defeated, embarrassed at not being able to say his own name. Scratch that, it wasn't even his full name, just the shortened version he came up with because Everett was just too difficult to get out. It made him feel stupid; who couldn't pronounce their own name?

<div align=center>Rhett. That was his name. William nodded a little as he was told, you're making him worse. Which is making you worse. A little voice whispered. The boy didn't know if he could take this anymore, the nerves building up in his stomach were making him feel sick, and he could feel tremors spreading through his body. William frowned, "h.. h-hang o-on." He tensed up a little, shaking his head and grabbing the Neko's hand without much warning. This would make an introduction much easier for both of them. His free hand moved to the boy's forehead and held it's self there for a moment.

He felt a wave of calm flood through his own mind as his powers took effect, breezing through the other boy and relaxing him. It was hard to be around someone that was as nervous about everything as he was, especially when you were an empath. He dropped his hand, and took a deep breath, trying to relax himself a little more in the process. "That's.. That's better." He breathed, hopefully that would benefit the both of them. At least that was one good thing about his powers, they benefited him as much as they did other people.

"Now," let's try that again." William stated, holding a hand out for the shorter boy to shake, "my name is William Beckett. You can call me Bill, if you like." He tried his best at a reassuring smile, "though I suppose any variation of 'William' would do, really." He didn't really mind what anyone called him, so long as it wasn't anything mean. He was a sensitive boy and it wasn't nice to see him cry. He let go of Rhett's other hand a second later, realizing that he was still clinging onto it after he'd grabbed it a moment ago.</div>
