Why in the bloody hell was poor little Cadence still sitting here? Why was he now getting himself caught up in this scenario? First he bruises himself up hard. Then now, as if fate dealt a hand and he was forced to go all-in, Cade found himself bonding together with a girl he had only just met by mere chance, along with a cat that he was now dubbed responsible for. There was no use complaining about it at this point in time. Come to think of it, it's been a little while since this whole ordeal begin. Just how long has that girl been glued to her book until now? When this the last time that poor kitty has eaten!?

Oh the humanity!

As much as he wanted to conceal his true emotions, he acknowledged now that he couldn't do that with Zelda around, because he knew now that she could read him like a good mystery novel. And to be quite honest, he hated that. In any case, it can't be helped. He took a deep breath then turned to the notably blushing girl. "You know how I feel, and I..." He paused for merely a second to gather himself, then continued. "I just hate the fact that there's not a damn thing I can do about it. I don't even have to say anything and yet I can't hide the fact that I feel so lost. I guess I gotta learn to live with it."

What the girl said next really took him by surprise. This caused him to go red in the face again. Was this girl seriously offering some form of companionship. In his mind, and in his heart, he knew something like that would more than likely do him good. But really? Could he really? Can he really confide in someone? This is exactly what young Cadence feared most, getting too close, only to end up hurt in the end. A huge risk it was indeed. She didn't seem like a bad person. She did help him after all. He somehow managed to crack a small smile. "I'll take you up on that offer." he said.

"The same goes for you. I may not be able to read minds or what not, but like I said earlier, I don't bite." Well, at least not too hard. "You can talk to me too." Smooth move, sly guy.

Since poor Cade couldn't hide his feelings from Zelda, he was quite content with the fact that he could hide his thoughts from her. Great, now that the two were acquainted, they could each just move on with their everday lives. Or, at least that's what was going through his mind at that point. While it seemed that she may have reassured him, Cade couldn't help but worry, mainly about her. What could possibly be going through her mind? How was she really feeling at the moment? No way of telling, quite frankly. "I take it you're really into books, eh?" he noted, not really expecting an answer.

Cade practically popped right out of his seat at the mention of food. "Oh crap!" Silly boy. He had just gotten that cute and fuzzy little thing, against his will it seemed, and he was already negelecting it! Animal cruelty! No, not really. Seriously though..."For the love of...I never thought of that! The poor thing must be famished!" With no regard for the little ball of yarn that would fade away after a short time anyhow, Cade gently grasped the poor kitty. "You needn't worry about that though. She's my responsibility now. I'm heading out to find her some grub, and maybe a litter box too." Come to think of it, had it been a puppy to deal with, he'd have to worry about picking up the manure after it. Gross.

In any case, he'd have to hurry and get going before the poor thing dies of starvation. "Tag along if you want. Either way, it's nice meetin' ya...Zelda...even if it was under rather awkward circumstances..." Yet another faint smile spread across his lightly toned face. "This is the first time in a long time that I've been able to chat like this. It's a good feeling." He was right about that, or rather, he thought he was. He stood there, with the kitty in one arm, awaiting her response. Before, she did look like she could use some companionship herself.
