Why in the bloody hell was poor little Cadence still sitting here? Why was he now getting himself caught up in this scenario? First he bruises himself up hard. Then now, as if fate dealt a hand and he was forced to go all-in, Cade found himself bonding together with a girl he had only just met by mere chance, along with a cat that he was now dubbed responsible for. There was no use complaining about it at this point in time. Come to think of it, it's been a little while since this whole ordeal begin. Just how long has that girl been glued to her book until now? When this the last time that poor kitty has eaten!?
Oh the humanity!
As much as he wanted to conceal his true emotions, he acknowledged now that he couldn't do that with Zelda around, because he knew now that she could read him like a good mystery novel. And to be quite honest, he hated that. In any case, it can't be helped. He took a deep breath then turned to the notably blushing girl. "You know how I feel, and I..." He paused for merely a second to gather himself, then continued. "I just hate the fact that there's not a damn thing I can do about it. I don't even have to say anything and yet I can't hide the fact that I feel so lost. I guess I gotta learn to live with it."
What the girl said next really took him by surprise. This caused him to go red in the face again. Was this girl seriously offering some form of companionship. In his mind, and in his heart, he knew something like that would more than likely do him good. But really? Could he really? Can he really confide in someone? This is exactly what young Cadence feared most, getting too close, only to end up hurt in the end. A huge risk it was indeed. She didn't seem like a bad person. She did help him after all. He somehow managed to crack a small smile. "I'll take you up on that offer." he said.
"The same goes for you. I may not be able to read minds or what not, but like I said earlier, I don't bite." Well, at least not too hard. "You can talk to me too." Smooth move, sly guy.
