Private Finished Eli and the Slime

The Strip is home to many different places of business. In the alleys near some of these businesses occasionally can be found a small ball of green slime. It has hovered around this area for a long time now. Several months simply, existing. Moving through the conjoined alleys picking up litter that it could break down inside of it's body. Occasionally the slime would disappear for a few hours but it had always returned. Most don't know where the slime goes during these hours, only the slime truly understands why it leaves.

And this was one of these moments. The Slime was dissolving some stale hard bread that had slipped onto the ground when it happened. Two slightly darker patches of slime spotted a person walking by, it was an odd person. Or at least to the Slime. Something about them just made the Slime 'tilt' it's head in curiosity. In reality bead of darker slime went higher then the other. Making it look like it tilted it's head before the Green Slime saw the person go around the corner.

It's curiosity peaked it moved smoothly across the semi-clean ground it had passed over a while ago and peeked around the corner. Whoever this person was it looked interesting, the slime decided that this person looked interesting still so it began to follow quickly and quietly clinging to the bottom of a building where it met the sidewalk staying out of everyone's way and keeping itself mostly hidden as it stretched out a little to become more translucent as it followed this person.

The man moved oddly at one point and moved closer to the Slime as he knelt down to do something with the thing on his appendage. The curious slime swiftly moved up next to the man and stretched forward looking curiously at the small strips of something that they were manipulating.

The Slime twisted and turned trying to understand what the boy was trying to do with these strips of stuff. was he going to eat them? was he using them for something? The slime didn't quite understand why they were doing this thing.

The slime didn't say anything but when the person spoke to it, at first it retracted a little but not far. When it was presented with food it paused for a moment to examine the offered food. After a second it tentatively reached forward and wrapped around the food, part of it sticking to the person's fingers as it slowly began to dissolve the sherbet. it would probably take hours but now that it food from this person... maybe if it stayed close to them it would get more.

The person spoke some more, the slime retracted a little bit and spread itself a little thin on the wall quivering a little. This person was nice to it, and it was trying to decide if it wanted to follow them or go back to where it had been staying before. After a brief little bit it decided that if this person knew they were going to be followed they might try to harm the slime.

So with as much subtlety the green slime inched it's way back and around the corner out of sight of the person. But the slime kept the parts of it that it used to see around the corner so they would be able to watch, and follow this person. They were nice and the Slime wanted to stay close to the nice person.

As the person began to move off after they stretched the slime began to creep along behind them at a matched pace. It was pretty much silent as it did so but it was becoming more and more interested in this person as they walked through the city. The slime didn't quite understand where this person was going, and it followed them for quite some time. Eventually it had gathered up some courage and after that time it was now following this person about 3 feet away from them in a small ball of slime. So far it hadn't been noticed but it was worried that if it was spotted that it would be shoed away.
