"Totally understandable." Alana commented and Mike was surprised. She usually didn't strike up a conversation as easily.

"Should I be hurt?" He turned his brown gaze from one girl to the other, smiling shyly. Slowly he touched a hand to his heart, closing his eyes as if in pain. "That hurts, it really hurts." This only solicited a punch in the arm from Alana. "Stuff it you wimp." She teased happily.

"And how am I going to prove it to you if you won't grace yourself with the honour of me escorting you on an outing?" He pouted again, turning the charm on Frankie.

She smirked lightly when he pouted at her, obviously trying to be charming for all his worth, so she decided to do the same. Although, more smoothely. She moved around his chair, and planted a hand on either arm rest. She slid her hands down the railing, lowering herself so that her face was inches from his. "I guess," her voice was low and rich now, almost growly, "you're gonna have to find a way." Her breath brushed his face as she spoke, and then, she pulled back, walking back to where she'd been before, trying very hard not to laugh. A single eye contact told Alana such, and she managed to keep a straight face for his reaction.

Mike looked up, surprised at Frankie's actions. But if she was trying to play him he was only mildly fooled. "Oh, I could think of countless ways, most that are illlegal. Though you never had a problem with those before..." He smirked, watching as Alana's eyes betrayed her laughter.

"But, you know, I don't think that kind of talk is appropriate for the lounge, perhaps we should take it to more... private quarters?" Ha, if she wanted to play the game, she had to be aware that he was the MASTER.

Straight face kept, she shoved down her laughter, sultry smile on her face. "No, illegal is my kind of thing." she reached out a hand, and played with his hair, voice still in it's low range. He was a master, so was she. Except she got a lot of results.

Her face was sultry, but other than that, blanked, hiding the cogs turning within her mind. There were so many things she could do right now. And then she got the idea of ideas. She dropped her hand to her side like she'd touched poison, and looked up at Alana, "WHAT? YOU WERE DATING HIM TOO?" she spoke at the top of her voice, tears welling in her eyes on cue, "AND YOU SAID YOU LOVED ME!!" she said this to Mike, and then dashed off, leaving every pretty girl in the room watching the scene with disgust.

As she ran, she tossed over her shoulder in a quiet, cheerful voice, "Have fun!" And then she let out a very realistic sob, and disappeared through the doors.

Mike stared open-mouther as Frankie stomped off after screaming at him. "What the?"

"You jerk!" Yelled Alana, taking her cue from Frankie and adding her own dramatic flair. She tossed a pillow at him and abruptly stood up. "How could you do something like that to her.. TO ME?!" Sending one last scathing look at her confused friend she stalked off, the stufiness of the lounge bothering her. She had to get out to the forest, maybe talk to one of the Old Ones

"Whadid I do?" Mike whimpered, looking around te lounge for a kind face. Seeing nothing but disgusted looks and sympathetic glances from the guys he shook his head. "Girls!" Shaking a fist at the sky Mike tossed the pillow back where Alana had been sitting, and wheeld himself out of the room.

Where else could he go?

Who was around the corner, when Mike wheeled himself out of the hostile room, but Frankie herself, hooting with laughter, crumpled, enjoying herself quite alot. Her fedora was in her lap, as her head was leaned against the wall where she'd leaned for support.

Her eyes sparkled, and there, sitting against the wall, filled with laughter, was the Frankie that Mike had known before he'd left. Childist prankster. She looked up at Mike, a grin on her face, "I couldn't resist! You shoulda seen your face, Mike!" she used the name he'd asked her to call him, mostly as her subconcious way of making him feel a little better. She didn't plan to take his ego down completely, just to downsize it.

"That was harsh girly!" He waggled a finger disapprovingly at her. "Now I'll hafta find my useful friend ith the mindwiping ability to be able to set foot in that room again. Well, wheel actually." He tilted his head up at her, noting how much fun she seemed to be having, at his expense.

"Hey Frankie, I missed you when we moved away." Mike admitted, a secret in exchange for her calling him Mike instead of that infantile nickname. "I used to try and send you secret messages, but I guess they never worked."

When he was nine, a crucial age for him, his family had been forced to move away without any contact for his former friends. He gad gad to pack up everything and just leave, it had been hard on him. It was on that joiurney away from Brooklyn that his parents had been in the car crash, the one that had paralyzed him from the waist down.

Frankie nodded. "Yeah. I missed you too. I was so mad that you'd left without saying bye." she chuckled, "I even tried to get my dad to track you down with his Mob technique, but the Feds were watching a bit too close." she shrugged, slipping her hands into her pockets.

"You've changed alot from the 9-year-old I remember," she remarked easily, as though she was imparting the knowledge of the weather. She reached out and ruffled his hair playfully, "But not really changed mentally," she teased, grinning at him.

"I'm glad you didn't. My parents would have freaked." He suppressed a smile, hands playing along his wheels. "They said it was better we left, better we didn't tell anyone. I was angry at them for a while." But it was hard to stay angry in a hospital bed.

"Be thankful my I.Q. hasn't grown since we've been apart. You wouldn't be able to understand me." He teased, shaking his head when she ruffled his hair. "It was a long time ago." He muttered wistfully, mind going back to the times when they ran and played like crazy little kids. How he missed the days when he could easily slide into an alley unnoticed and sneak mice into his pockets at the pet store.

She stooped down and wrapped her arms around his neck in a quick hug, and then stood up again, "Well, I never thought I'd say this, but I'm glad that you tried to hit on me. And I'm glad that I found you." an evil glint flickered into her eyes for a moment, and she slugged him in the shoulder. "But insults aren't acceptable." she said in a sinister way, though the quirky smile on her face rather took the edge off of it.
