Daenmor was, of course, shirtless in the park. He looked like he was about to chug a fifth of vodka and cold cock somebody with his elbow. So most people kept a reasonable distance.

He had kind of felt like something like this was going to happen. He had read through the screen caps that Frysta had sent him, he wasn't even sure. A dozen times?

There wasn't a lot there, to be honest. But what was there surprisingly didn't make his blood boil. He'd already met Fweiu and had found her to be just another product of their shitheel father.

He didn't know exactly why Frysta wanted to talk to him, but based on the time he had in those texts he wasn't down for the way the Akt'Anir did things. At least someone was starting to figure shit out.

The meetup spot was public, with enough room to move in case he had missed the mark and someone was coming to kick his ass. Call him paranoid but he really wouldn't put it past the ice dragons to pull a stunt like that.

The plan for lunch was a trip of food stands in the park: hotdogs, funnel cake, and fries. Daenmor already had a cone of fries while he waited. He liked the Cajun seasoning they used.

Frysta at this point had no real idea of what he was expecting to gain from this meeting. That said, he was definitely talking to Daenmor before he went to talk to Fweiu, and he wasn't talking to her until he had dinner with the Drakenhardts. This was supposed to be a lunch meeting, but he wasn't feeling very hungry.

The park was a good location for the meeting though, nice and open. Even in the off chance of another dragon rolling up on them, they'd be stupid to cause any kind of scene... not that that seemed to stop some members of the community. There was just so much going on with the Akt'Anir that he hadn't fully registered until coming here, and being a bit more involved in learning the ins and outs of clan politics.

He was very much intent on addressing it all, the entire massive elephant in the room. Frysta read the texts a few times, talked with Shwaal, Ysolda, people he would say for sure he trusted. He wanted to know Daenmor's opinions on the messages. Something about the words felt hollow, like Fweiu was holding something back.

Daenmor was easy enough to spot. It seemed like a trend that half of the male ice dragons he'd known were either shirtless, assholes, or shirtless assholes. Frysta was wearing his workout clothes, having just come from training.

"I'm here," he said with a wave. "Hope you weren't waiting too long."

"Nah, man. You're fine. You wanna get some food first, or what? I don't usually hang out with people who can't go drinking with me, so I might be fuckin' weird." Weird might have been an understatement. He wasn't used to interacting with kids one on one and he had never really interacted with a member of the Akt'Anir community in a reasonably friendly manner.

He wasn't sure how straight to business Frysta was. The kid seemed pretty serious a lot of the time, but that made sense. He didn't get the full scope, but it was obvious that Frysta had had a lot of shitty responsibility pushed on him before he was ready. "I read over those messages you screen capped for me. I assume you have questions about all that nonsense?"

"I'm not really hungry," Frysta answered. As Daenmor was about to discover, Frysta was pretty damn straight to business. He debated on telling the man to treat him like an adult, but in his experience that got you treated even more like a kid. Those condescending pats on the head or shoulder, or occasional looks of sympathy for his orphan status were well... frustrating.

"I'm just trying to figure out what can be done. And what I'm going to say to Fweiu when I see her. Honestly, none of what she said sits well with me. It's like she's deliberately leaving things out when asked. Maybe she doesn't plan on doing anything at all. You're the one with nothing to hide so I figured I'd come to you."

"Well that depends on what you want to know," Daenmor said as he leaned back against one of the light posts that lined the pathways in the park. With both hands in his pockets, he gave a small shrug. Figured he might as well start from the beginning. "Buckle up and take notes if you need to."

"Mom never told me how she ended up in the community. But it was the only place she had to take care of her and give her what she needed. Which was fine until Eehol decided he wanted a piece of that. Kinda hard to say no when it's the leader of the clan that feeds you, right?"

"She had me and that was the extent of their relationship. A sometimes booty call. And my relationship with him amounted to 'I ain't your daddy.' I don't know if you've seen any more bastards of his since then, but I can tell you. The first time I was told, to my face, that I was not a member of their family and I would not be treated as such. I was about ten."

"I fought every goddamn body. But I tried to behave for Mom. Hard when you're hardwired to be extra territorial and bitey. But she died and I just kind of kept going through the motions because what else was I supposed to do? I wasn't allowed to leave. Took me way too long to realize that I did have a way to leave. So I took it. I spit in the crusty old fuck's face in front of everyone."
