Sora "Jun" Kaname, an artistic teacher at the academy, had a day off, so he decided he'd take a walk into town. It was a gray day. Not raining, not snowing, and the sun wasn't beating down on him. He liked days like this. It was a calming sort of weather as he walked into a nearby cafe. He ordered his usual mocha with extra whipped cream and extra chocolate. After he paid for the drink, he took a seat near one of the windows, at a small table meant for two people. He looked around, surveying the crowd before humming one of his favorite songs to himself. It was called 'Drops of Jupiter' and it was performed by a band called Train. It had been a while since he heard it, but he still remembered all the words and his rhythm was perfect. After a few minutes, he heard the barrista calling from behind the counter.

"Mocha, extra cream, extra chocolate!"

As he stood, he wasn't paying much attention to whoever else was around him, and nearly tripped on the way to the counter. He liked his coffee sweet and this one was pretty much it for him. His guitar case swayed a bit behind him as he moved, stopping only once he reached his destination.

Evangeline took one last look in the mirror and went to the living room of her small apartment. She could have afforded a house, probably two, but it was just her and she knew it would get lonely. Evangeline grabbed her small purse, and made her way to her favorite coffee shop.

It wasn't very bright outside, the was was a dull grey color Evangeline noticed as neared the coffee shop. She entered, thinking about how it has been the same coffee shop she has entered for the past few weeks. She walked up to the counter and ordered a mocha with whipped cream and extra chocolate. The same drink she ordered every time. Of course she really could go without eating and drinking at all, but it was still nice to have a few things she enjoyed.

Evangeline moved over by the window waiting for her drink. A few more people came in, one with a guitar case. She didn't pay much attention though. She was lost in thought until she heard
"Mocha, extra cream, extra chocolate!"

She started to walk towards the counter and as she was almost there she ran into someone. Evangeline's golden hair fell into her face and she looked with her light green eyes into a man's. It looked as if he were in his early 20's, he had eyes you could drown in.

"Oh," She blushed, kind of dumbstruck, "I didn't mean to bump you sir. I just was coming to get my mocha, and paid very poor attention to where I was going." Hopefully saying "sir" didn't throw him off, sometime Evangeline forgot what year it was.

Sora was having such a nice day, and this woman that bumped into him was rather nice as well.

"Well, I'll let you off, but only if you tell me your name."

He said so coyly as another coffee of the same kind was called out.

"Wait, don't tell me, you too? Quite the coincidence. Kinda makes sense though, sweet coffee for such a sweet girl. By chance, would you mind sitting with me this morning? I'd love the chance to get to know you."

As he said this, he grabbed both coffees and handed one to her.

"Name's Jun, by the way. Used to play guitar for a band called Grimm."

He started walking to his table for two near the window, hoping she would follow.

She laughed quietly, "My name is Evangeline, or Lina, whichever you prefer." She heard as another coffee was called and looked to him as he said their same liking in coffee was a coincidence. She didn't believe in coincidences. Not anymore.

He wanted to get to know her, and she wasn't sure what to say. Did she want to get close to someone to just have to leave in a few years? She wasn't sure, but he was hard to resist. He handed her mocha to her, and she brought it to her lips.

"Sure," Evangeline smiled, "I would love to sit with you this morning." What could it hurt, it's been forever since she had someone to talk to.

Jun was his name, what a nice name she thought. She walked with him towards a table for two near the window. "So tell me, why don't you play guitar in this band anymore?" She asked as she sat in one of the chairs.

"Lina, huh, it's a nice name for someone as beautiful as yourself."

He chuckled a bit as she asked him why he didn't perform anymore.

"Oh, that's a bit of a long story. But, I suppose I can tell you. I quit the band when I heard about the academy. My band-mates were all Grimoire mages. That is to say, they chanted incantations from magical texts in order to perform magic. Well, except our drummer. He was a monk, chanted sutras and stuff for his abilities. I remember this time that he saved me from an angry fan, mispronounced a barrier spell, and lost his ability to speak as a result."

He laughed a bit more as he thought about it.

"So, what about you? How did such a pretty girl end up in a place like this?"

Evangeline felt her face turn many shades of red when he called her beautiful. No one has called her that in a while. It made her heart dance.

He said the reason behind him not being in the band anymore was because one of the members completely lost his voice, because of a spell that back-fired on him.

"That sounds terrible, I'm sorry," she apologized, she knew it wasn't her fault, just felt the need to say sorry.

Evangeline frowned, she wasn't sure how to respond to his question, many bad memories played throughout her mind, and she was hoping her pause didn't make him wonder, so she decided to say, "I needed a change, I've traveled all over, and finally came upon this island, I'm thinking about settling a while," she looked down and smiled to herself. "It's beautiful, and although it doesn't feel like home yet, I think it could come to grow on me." She wasn't sure she wanted to say why she's been to so many places.

She looked up through her lashes, and asked, "What about you? What brings you here?"

"Well, he drums all the same. Just needs a notepad to say anything. As for what brought me here, I wanted to impart some of my knowledge to the next generation. Let them know about the beauty of music."

Now that he thought about it, that was pretty honest of him.

"Speaking of which, you just reminded me of a song that I used to listen to. It's a nice one actually. Would you mind letting me sing it for you?"

This was it, his time to shine, and let this girl know just how good of an artist he was.

"And if you don't like it, then your next coffee is on me."

She was really glad to hear his friend still played. Evangeline loved to hear that he wanted to impact others with his love of music. She could clearly see he enjoyed what he does, and it made her like him that much more. Jun seemed to have some kind of charm to him, at least that's what Evangeline could see.

Evangeline listened as Jun spoke to her, he wanted to sing to her. He made a deal with her, if she didn't like the song he'd buy her another coffee. She wanted more than anything to hear him play.

"I would love to hear you sing."

She rested her chin in both of her hands and smiled a smile that went all the way to her green eyes, "And what if I love the song? What then?"

"Well, if you love the song, then maybe the two of us could go out sometime. Does that sound alright to you?"

As he said this, Sora made his way to the extremely short stage that was more like a palate or two on the floor in the nearby corner, and tested the mic before lowering it and pulling up a chair. He uncased his acoustic guitar and started playing the notes as he remembered them. the ones at the beginning had been adapted from piano notes.

"~Now that she's back in the atmosphere
With drops of Jupiter in her hair, hey, hey, hey
She acts like summer and walks like rain
Reminds me that there's a time to change, hey, hey, hey
Since the return from her stay on the moon
She listens like spring and she talks like June, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey

But tell me, did you sail across the sun?
Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights all faded
And that heaven is overrated?

Tell me, did you fall for a shooting star–
One without a permanent scar?
And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there?

Now that she's back from that soul vacation
Tracing her way through the constellation, hey, hey, hey (mmm)
She checks out Mozart while she does tae-bo
Reminds me that there's room to grow, hey, hey, hey (yeah)

Now that she's back in the atmosphere
I'm afraid that she might think of me as plainol'Jane Toldastoryaboutaman whowastooafraidtofly soheneverdidland

But tell me, did the wind sweep you off your feet?
Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day
And head back to the Milky Way?
And tell me, did Venus blow your mind?
Was it everything you wanted to find?
And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there?

Can you imagine no love, pride, deep-fried chicken?
Your best friend always sticking up for you even when I know you're wrong
Can you imagine no first dance, freeze dried romance, five-hour phone conversation?
The best soy latte that you ever had and me

But tell me, did the wind sweep you off your feet?
Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day
And head back toward the Milky Way?

And tell me, did you sail across the sun?
Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights all faded
And that heaven is overrated?

And tell me, did you fall for a shooting star,
One without a permanent scar?
And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself?

Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na

And did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day?
Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na
And did you fall for a shooting star, fall for a shooting star?
Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na
And now you're lonely looking for yourself out there.~"

As the song ended, he played a few more chords before getting up and recasing his guitar. When he got back to the table, he asked Lina...

"So, what did you think?"

Evangeline laughed and said, "We'll see." She would have to explain to him eventually the whole immortal thing. She couldn't keep it from him. She really liked him, how could she keep it from him? It would be up to him to decide if he wanted to see her anymore. Now wasn't the time though.

She watch as he walked to the stage and get out his guitar. She watched as he set a few things up, and then got right to his song. "Drops of Jupiter" It was called. Evangeline was familiar with the song, it was one of her favorites.

When Jun started singing all of Evangeline's attention was turned to him, his voice fit the song perfectly. Every word was beautiful, and she found herself mesmerized with his singing, so much that she herself started to hum along.

When he finished, she found herself at a loss she wanted to hear him again, and again. She absolutely loved it. When he came over to the table to ask what she thought she replied, "I absolutely loved it. You're a beautiful singer, and have so much talent. When would you like to go out?" She laughed lowly, referring to his offer before the song.
